Jisung spamming him on his messages was not in Seungmin’s to-do list on a Saturday morning. He just woke up from coming home later yesterday due to some arrogant co-worker loosing their presentation somewhere on their files. Thankful‚ another co-worker of his had a copy and immediately passed it to their boss‚ who needed it that exact day and let them off the hook for being late for only a few minutes. Sensing that the few missed calls and messages sent to him were important, he swiped across his phone to answer his brother’s already ringing call for God knows how many times already.
“Hello?”
“Thank the Heavens‚ you finally answered‚” came Jisung’s voice once he heard his brother’s voice from the other side‚ stretching the word “finally”.
“What do you need at the moment? You know that I’m trying to regain some of my beauty sleep..” It was a joke of course‚ it was evident on his tone. But‚ he was still – in fact – very tired.
“I need to ask you for a favor.” Seungmin rose his eyebrows at that. It was rare for Jisung to ask for favors. But‚ most of the times that he asked – it was actually important.
“Alright‚ go ahead and say it—I’m listening.”
So‚ here is where he found himself standing—outside of his brother’s garage. The couple’s car is already parked outside of their garage and left it open so Seungmin could easily park his inside. He grabbed the two bags full of the needed foods, toys and other things that Hyunjin–Jisung’s husband–told him to buy through one call he made hours ago before arriving at their place. Closing the garage door using a copied key that his brother gave him‚ he made his way towards the front door (because he thinks that is would be rude if he entered the couple’s house through their garage door).
He was greeted by a warm‚ tight hug from Jisung. He ruffled Seungmin’s hair and laughed it off when Seungmin pouted‚ before he dropped the bags to the counter of the kitchen island. Crying can be heard from the upstairs bedroom and Seungmin can only tell that it was from their child.
“So‚” Seungmin started‚ as he turned around to face his brother. “You called me over to take care of Lixie?”
Jisung hummed and smiled. “Me and my husband want to go out for awhile. We can’t just leave our little one all alone‚ or even with a babysitter. You know my experiences with those..” Seungmin chuckled.
Of course he would know why. It was a core memory of their childhood.
Seungmin walked towards him and patted his shoulder. “Alright then. I will take good care of your baby. I know that you and Hyunjin deserve a break.”
“You’re the best‚” Jisung started as he hugged him again. “I’ll go tell my husband first before anything.”
Seungmin nodded and encouraged him to do so. In doing so‚ Jisung called out for Seungmin with an “I love you!” before hearing the bedroom door close.
After waiting for what felt like forever‚ Seungmin finally heard the bedroom door open‚ some footsteps alongside some small whisperings. When Seungmin stood up from the couch‚ he seed the couple dressed up with matching outfit—even their baby‚ Felix‚ was dressed up on the same color theme. The sight melted Seungmin.
Hyunjin immediately saw Seungmin and walked towards him to give him a side hug‚ as he still had Lixie carried in his arms. Seungmin smiled to him and Hyunjin handed Felix over to him as Jisung calls out for his husband.
“Alright‚ Seung! We’re going out now. Take care of our Lixie!” Jisung follows up‚ as he wraps his hands around his husband’s waist to pull him outside with him while waving goodbye to his brother and his child.
Felix raised his little arms out and tried his best to wave back‚ as Seungmin stood in front of the front door to see the couple drive away.
“Alright‚ Lixie—what does my little one want to do now?” Felix only chuckled in response‚ as he pointed towards the living room and presumably ask Seungmin to turn on the television.
Seungmin smiled and softly bumped his nose with Lixie’s nose as he walked towards the room and turned on the television before making himself comfortable on the couch—with Lixie‚ being on his lap as the baby starts watching the cartoon “We Bare Bears”.
He didn’t even realised it‚ but Seungmin accidentally fell asleep whilst the child had to watch alone. But thankfully‚ his hold on Lixie was strong enough for the child to not fall off. He sighed in relief after waking up‚ as he soon hears Lixie giggle after one of the bears do something that he was fond of. His phone then started to ring‚ and he opened it to only see his fiancé’s name.

Soon enough‚ he heard a knock on the front door. Seungmin carefully placed Felix down on the couch before heading towards the door and greet his fiancé.
“Hey‚ darling.” Minho greeted after placing the bag full of foods ‒ which Seungmin only assumes are for their dinner later on ‒ and placing his arms around his fiancé’s waist to pull him closer.
“Hello‚ hyung‚” Seungmin chuckles after giving Minho’s lips a peck before dragging him towards the living room where Felix stayed put.
“Has Lixie eaten anything?” Minho asks‚ as he cuddled to Seungmin after sitting on the couch where Felix is. Seungmin hummed in response before placing Lixie back on his lap so that his little angel was comfortable leaning back onto his chest.
The three of them stayed at the couch‚ watching whatever that they could find interesting on the television before Minho starts to feel a little bit sleepy ‒ to which Seungmin notices. He looked over to his fiancé first before poking him gently on the cheek to try and keep him awake.
“Do you want to eat first before sleeping? I think Lixie is also a little bit hungry.” Seungmin offered‚ to which Minho nodded. Seungmin then passed Lixie over to Minho so he could stand up and go to the kitchen to set their dinner. Minho blinks his eyes for a few seconds over at Seungmin‚ before he laughs at his fiancé’s reaction.
“I’m not going anywhere‚ hyung. Just keep an eye out for Lixie while I set up our dinner.”
Minho nodded again and looked over at Felix‚ who was now watching him. He smiled at the child and played with his little hands while watching whatever was on the television.
“Are the bag full of foods for our dinner today?” He heard Seungmin ask from the kitchen.
“Yes‚ there are also other things there for Lixie that I think he would like.”
“Okie dookie―thanks a lot‚ hyung! I love you!”
Minho grinned‚ before blushing at his fiancé’s words. “I love you most!”
“Hyung‚ dinner’s ready! Bring Lixie with you over here‚ too!” Minho closed the television first before carrying Felix on his arms to walk to the kitchen. Seungmin smiled as he watches the two come into the kitchen‚ and he hurriedly took Lixie from Minho’s arms before helping him to wash his hands.
“Make sure to wash your hands too‚ hyung.” Minho nodded‚ as he watches Seungmin take care of Felix with so much care.
Once they’re all seated‚ with Felix being on Seungmin’s lap again‚ they enjoyed their dinner. During which Minho can’t stop melting at his fiancé more as he watches how much Seungmin adores his brother’s child.
“Forget what I said earlier‚” Minho blurted out‚ before feeding Seungmin who was busy feeding Felix. “I think you’re his favorite uncle out of the two of us.”
Seungmin swallowed his food first before laughing at Minho. “Nah‚ I don’t think he has any favorites because I think we’re equal when it comes for this little angel.” He pointed at the child on his lap‚ before the two heard a small giggle come from Felix. They both looked at each other first before chuckling.
“See? I told you―even he agrees to what I said.”
Minho’s smile grew wider as both Seungmin and Felix finishes their meals and now‚ Minho was cradling the sleepy Felix in his arms as he waits for his fiancé to come back.
“Thanks a lot for today‚ hyung.” Seungmin hugged Minho from behind and continued to adore the cute expression from the sleeping Lixie.
“You’re more than welcome―it was one of my duties to make sure that you’re alright‚ too.”
