Chapter Text
Izuku awoke slowly, coughing out a mouthful of rainwater. He shoved a hand under himself and cracked open an eye, then gasped at the sight around him. The street he had been fighting on moments before was now HUGE.
He looked down at the sidewalk beneath him, registering that the crack in the stone was as wide as his whole hand. No...he was tiny.
Super tiny. Smaller than Mineta, his patrol partner tonight, who was now shouting his name and stomping around in the puddles that looked like lakes to Izuku.
"Midoriya-kun! Where did you go?"
"Min-" Izuku choked back his words as a person trotted by in the rain and drenched Izuku with a splash. He had to get up before he was stepped on. Shakily, he shoved himself to his feet and lit up One For All, only for the muscles in his back to spasm suddenly and throw him off balance. He caught himself on his hands and knees, then winced as he reached back and felt a strange, soft bulge over his shoulder blades.
What the hell had happened to him? One moment, Mineta and Izuku had been taking on a villain whose Quirk only seemed to be throwing flower petals around (which was really ineffective in the rain), and Mineta had just stuck her to a light post with with his Grape Rush, then the next moment, Izuku was smacked in the face with a final attack of a handful of tulip petals that knocked him down like a ton of bricks.
Looking around now, Izuku could see that the police were currently handcuffing the villain, Mineta was growing more frantic, traffic was allowed back through the area, and the battered tulip petals were floating down the sidewalk into a gutter.
Izuku tried to shout for Mineta again, but with the fresh rush of traffic, his smaller voice was drowned out. He sighed heavily as he watched his patrol partner take off running for UA. Izuku turned to try to get the attention of the police instead, only to catch the tail lights of the squad car pull away as they left too with the villain in tow, laughing out the back window as her eyes met Izuku's.
"Oh, come on…" Izuku muttered in irritation, pushing himself to his feet again. Wincing at the sensation on his back, he sloshed over to the protection of a potted plant near a closed cafe, ducking under the broad, overhanging leaves of a Hosta. Once he was a little more confident that he wouldn't get kicked or drowned, he unzipped his hero costume top and shrugged the fabric off his shoulders.
His eyes widened when he caught sight of his reflection in the cafe's nearby glass door. From behind him, two long, delicate gossamer wings unfurled, with a second smaller set overlapped beneath them. It took him a moment to process what he was seeing, then the air left his lungs in a single mortified laugh of disbelief.
At about five inches tall, with shimmery insect-like wings, Izuku had been quirked into a fucking fairy…
An explosion that sounded five times louder than it usually did startled him out of his shock and Izuku turned around to see a familiar figure shooting into the area. As Katsuki grew closer, Izuku could see Mineta was miserably stuffed under his arm like an American football.
"Izuku!!" Katsuki shouted as he landed close enough to the cafe that his loafers splashed ripples into the puddle around Izuku's ankles.
"I told you, he disappeared! He's not here!" Mineta wailed, kicking uselessly at Katsuki's side.
Katsuki lifted him up in front of his face by the balls on his head and shook him like a dog with a squirrel. "Where the fuck did he go?! Why weren't you watching his back, you piece of-"
"Kacchan!" Izuku shouted as loud as he could, letting his costume top fall slack around his waist so he didn't crush his wings. Katsuki snapped his mouth shut and looked around intensely, searching. Izuku lit up One for All again, this time taking his extra appendage into consideration as he hopped up into the air as high as he could go in one leap, which came just about waist high on Katsuki. High enough to finally be seen.
Katsuki narrowed his eyes with a scowl and dropped Mineta to the side as he stepped closer, cupping his hands under Izuku just as he started to fall and his wet wings caught in the air awkwardly.
"Izuku?" Katsuki asked like he couldn't quite believe what he was seeing. "What the fuck?"
Izuku dropped into Katsuki's hands, shifting on his palms unsteadily before he just plopped back to sit on his butt. Being tiny after hours on patrol and a villain fight was surprisingly exhausting.
"I'm so glad you found me," Izuku said, exhaling in relief. "I got hit with a quirk."
"No shit…" Katsuki grit out in annoyance. He glanced to the side when Mineta burst out laughing as he got a closer look at the situation. He kicked him into a bush before refocusing on Izuku. "Why the fuck didn't you dodge?"
"I thought she was bound," Izuku said with a sigh as he pulled his long gloves off and tied the sleeves of his uniform top around his waist. He tucked his gloves into his belt. "And I thought all she could do was throw petals around. I didn't know the petals themselves actually did anything."
"Sloppy," Katsuki snapped harshly. "You're lucky you aren't dead, Izuku. What the hell kind of hero lets himself get hit like that?"
Izuku sighed again and opened his mouth to defend himself, only to snap it shut as Aizawa, Todoroki, and Asui came rushing into view.
"Did you find any clues?" Aizawa called as he neared.
"His cellphone GPS says he's close," Todoroki called out. Then all three of them stopped as Katsuki turned around and showed off Izuku's embarrassing form. Izuku winced and rubbed the back of his head as they all blinked at him.
"Midoriya-kun," Asui started carefully. "Are you a-"
"A pixie!" Mineta crowed gleefully as he shuffled out of the bush, plucking twigs from his balls.
Izuku yelped as Katsuki closed one fist around his body to keep a hold of him as he kicked Mineta over and started stomping on him.
"This is all your fault, you piece of shit!! How about I grind you into pixie dust?!"
"Ow! Ow! Stop, Bakugou! Sensei, help!"
Aizawa rubbed his eyes in exhaustion.
