Chapter Text
Rody continued to ring her up, trying to at least hear her voice just to see if she was okay. Every time he cried for her, begging for her to pick up. Nothing. He never got an answer. All week he had been trying to get the love of his life to answer him. Did she hate him? Was she hurt? He did this all for her.
All the gifts he bought, the compliments he gave her, everything about him was for her. Everything he did was for her. His eyes began to sting as he walked out of the phone booth. Rain poured onto his hair and clothing, he gripped onto his wallet stuffing it back into his pocket.
He shouldn’t have quit, would Vincent even take him back? Was the job already filled? There was only one way to find out.
Vincent sat at his table, taking a swig from a wine bottle. He let out a sigh resting his head on the palm of his hand. He missed Rody. Why though? Rody was a complete mess, giving his restaurant horrible reviews, being a complete klutz. Something drawed Vincent to Rody.
Maybe it was the messy orange hair, or his blue eyes. Maybe his figure and how muscular he was. His beautiful smile, or maybe- No. He can’t think about one of his ex-employees like that. Vincent pinched the bridge of his nose taking another sip from the wine bottle until he heard someone knocking on his door.
Walking into the other room he opened the door just to see Rody standing infront of him. Tears ran down Rodys face, the rain making his clothes stick to his skin. His entire face was red and wet.
“Rody??-“
“Uhm,, h-hey Vince.”
Vincent raised a brow staring down at the man, “Why are you here, its 2 in the morning..”
There was awkward silence in the air. “I lost my bike, and I was just wondering if I could maybe talk to you,,” He paused, “inside?”
“Oh uhm yeah, yeah, come on in.” Rody walked into Vincents house, his eyes widening at how luxurious it was. Organized and clean. He was much more richer.
“So, what did you want to talk about.” Vincent sat on his couch, patting the spot next to him signaling Rody to sit down.
“..I was wondering if I could maybe stay the night..? I know that might be a lot to ask but I just- I don’t really wanna be alone.” Rody began to feel his eyes stinging again, he didn’t want to seem like a pussy infront of his ex-boss. He tried to suppress his tears.
Vincent bit his lip thinking. “Fine.” He sighed standing up. Rody smiled getting up off the couch and he stood infront of Vincent before wrapping his arms around his waist.
“Thank you!!” He screamed. Vincents eyes widened his breath hitching, looking down at the top of Rodys head. His face began to feel hot, flushing a light shade of red before he groaned annoyingly.
“Yeah, Yeah, get off me Rody,,”
“Sorry,” He let go, still smiling. Looking at Vincents chest he saw a giant wet spot, chuckling nervously he rubbed the back of his neck. “Uhm, sorry about your shirt..”
“Its fine..” Vincent groaned, he hesitated before opening his mouth again. “you wanna change or something..?”
Rody nodded, Vincent began to lead Rody to the bathroom. Opening the door for the ginger man. “Ill get you clothes stay here.” He mumbled walking away shutting the door behind him. Vincent look around the bathroom, it was pretty ugly but very spacious. He shouldn’t be talking though, his toilet was broken. What a loser.
Vincent walked inside the bathroom once again placing the clothes on the counter of the sink. “If you wanna shower you can,, the extra towels are under the sink.” He shut the door leaving Rody alone with his thoughts. He sighed stripping off his clothes and getting into that ugly tub he hated so much.
Rody walked out of the bathroom, rubbing his hair with a towel. A door laid open, the light on. Inside was Vincent reading a book. Rody continued to observe him, he noticed Vincent was wearing glasses.
“Stop staring,,” Vincent turned to look at Rody who stood at the doorway.
“My bad.” Rody softly chuckled before walking to the bed Vincent sat on, flopping down on it making it shake. He placed the wet towel on the bedroom nightstand. Vincent had a face of disgust. “Do you want something to eat?” Vincent spoke standing up and brushing off his shirt.
Rody turned back to Vincent, his stomach rumbling right when he asked that. “Yeah, that would be nice,,”
They both exited the room walking towards the kitchen. “Take a seat,” Vincent signaled to the table, deciding to just make Rody a plain Peanut butter sandwich. Rody hummed nodding and sitting down. A opened wine bottle sat infront of him, he raises a brow. “Were you drinking before I got here?”
“Yes.” Vincent mumbled, a second later placing the sandwich infront of him. “Eat up,” Rodys drooled grabbing the sandwich and taking a bite out of it, it had been a while since he’d eaten. Probably out of anxiety always waiting for his ex girlfriend to call him. Never really focusing on himself.
A minute later the plate was completely cleared, only a couple crumbles laid on it. “You were that hungry,,” Vincent hums. “Would you like some wine?” He would raise a brow.
Rody could use a drink. “Sure.” Vincent once again got up grabbing a glass cup, pouring wine into it then pouring himself one. He walked back to the table sliding it to Rody.
He catches it with his hand before taking a sip. His nose quickly scrunching as his lips turn into a flat line. Vincent taking a sip of out his cup absolutely no reaction.
“Its— it’s definitely a flavor I can get used too,,” Rody mumbles. It had a lemony taste to it. It was pretty gross. Rody knew about how Vincent couldn’t taste. Vincent takes another sip. Rody slides his own glass to Vincent. “Take it, I dont really want it.” He would rub the back of his neck, Vincents eyebrows rising.
“Something on your mind?” The man infront of him would him downing his glass of wine before moving onto the one Rody handed him.
Rody began to fidget with his fingers, looking down as Vincent waiting for a reply. “Um, I was wondering.. could I maybe get the job back?”
Vincent hummed, knowing he would instantly take him back. “Ill see,” Why did he say that? He felt like an idiot. Rodys eyes light up his smile widening. Vincent peeked at the clock above him. “Its already 3..” He said pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Oh! Uhm question, where will I sleep..?”
Vincent paused, “With me I suppose, the couch is far to uncomfortable.” Rodys eyes widened. Vincent got out of his chair Rody following.
“Are you sure? I dont wanna be a bother,,” Rody questioned his face slightly hot. He could easily just sleep on the couch, he did at his own house anyways.
“Its fine.” Vincent walked into the bedroom, remembering the dirty towel Rody left on the nightstand. He walked towards it picking it up. “You could’ve put this back in the bathroom when we were walking to the kitchen.” He groaned. He put it ontop of the door so it could dry overnight.
“Oh, sorry, I forgot.” Rody chuckled awkwardly. He watched as Vincent slipped under the covers. The bed was pretty large enough for the both of them. Rody hesitated before finally getting under the covers with Vincent.
“Goodnight Rody.”
“Goodnight,,” He mumbled, what an idiot. Why was he so nervous? It was just Vincent, a guy. What was making him feel this way. He pulled on his shirt. Why was it suddenly so hot.
Vincent laid awake pretending to sleep, he always has trouble sleeping anyways. Suddenly he felt arms creep around his waist, soft hair against his neck.
Was Rody snuggling up against him? Vincent continued to pretend to be asleep, hearing soft snores. ‘He really falls asleep that fast..?’ He thought. Vincents face turned into a dark shade of red before he finally shut his eyes, slowly falling asleep with Rody.
