Ghoul Pile

Summary:

Copia never enjoys the concept of a ghoul pile. He’d never say yes.

Until, one day, Mountain doesn’t give him a choice.

Chapter Text

No matter how much more affectionate Copia was towards the ghouls compared to the other Papas, he always refused the ghoul pile. The man found it strange how they would flop onto each other like seals hauling out when they were all equally stressed.

Every time the ghoulettes begged him to join, no matter how adorable they looked, he’d always respond with “no, cara.”

However, this time, he didn’t seem to be given a chance. Copia was drowning in a pile of paperwork when Mountain barged into his office, Sodo somewhere behind him cackling like a hyena. The next thing he knew, Mountain had an iron grip on his belly and was dragging him off to who knows where.

It didn’t take long for Copia to find himself smooshed between Cumulus and Aether with the two snuggled up close. Flattening him from above was Sodo- obviously wanting a place to snuggle up with Aether, jealous that it wasn’t him getting attention from the rhythm guitarist. Somewhere beneath him was Mountain, squeezing the life out of Rain. Mountain was probably the only one other than Aether who could handle being flattened by every ghoul in the pack.

Copia certainly wasn’t happy at first. With Phantom and Sodo arguing for attention, yet eventually giving up and cuddling one another on top of him, he had no reason to be. It wasn’t the most pleasant experience to him. He didn’t get how the ghouls enjoyed this. He just served as a free pillow for Cumulus and Aether.

Cirrus, fashionably late to the party, barged in with a pile of pillows of blankets in her arms. Aurora was curiously peeking out from behind her with a shy smile. It only took the sight of Copia’s disgruntled look for Cirrus’s eyes to light up with joy as she rushed over, tossing the blankets and pillows onto the floor for anybody to grab. Cirrus quite literally threw Phantom and Sodo aside as she tumbled on top of Copia.

She smiled at him with all teeth before getting comfortable. Cirrus easily snagged a blanket with her tail spade before bringing it over herself and over Copia. Copia gave her a disapproving frown before it was covered by her hand.

“Listen up,” Cirrus smirked, tilting her head, “we are going to show you love and affection, whether you like it or not. So get comfortable and try to sleep.”

Sodo and Phantom, now rising from their spot on the ground where Cirrus tossed them, squeezed their way back into the pile; Sodo hugging Aether from behind, and Phantom desperately clinging to Cumulus’s back like a lost puppy.

Copia sighed and looked his situation over. He knew they’d be relentless until he officially gave up. Closing his eyes, Copia began to get some well-earned rest surrounded by the warmth and love produced by the ghouls. After all the work he was doing, it was about time.
