Through out the night Celie just couldn’t seem to fall asleep with all of these thoughts roaming through her head. After a while she figured that she just go downstairs to get a glass of water.

“Celie” Shug said with a drained voice. “Why aren’t you in bed”.
“I couldn’t sleep and I didn’t wanna wake you, so I came downstairs.” Celie said while getting a glass of water.
Shug stared directly at Celie and just couldn’t seem to take her eyes off her. Well who was she kidding, couldn’t more like didn’t want to. The way the moonlight hit Celie’s radiant chocolate skin. Shug was in a state of euphoria looking at the beautiful woman. She could just take her right there and n—
“What Shug”. Celie asked as she glanced up breaking Shug out of her lustful thoughts.
Shug never heard Celie sound so irritated when being around her, so she just knew something was up.
Slowly she walked over to the counter and stood behind Celie. She took the water from her hand and took a sip. “Celie what’s wrong, huh. Talk to me”. Shug said as she wrapped her arms around celie’s waist and kissed her lightly on the shoulder.
Celie’s body shuddered. It didn’t matter what mood she she was in, it was just always something about Shug’s touch that made her feel bliss. “Nothing’s wrong Shug, I just wanted some water is all. I’ll be back up in a minute”. Celie said looking down.
Shug knew for a fact something was wrong and she wasn’t buying what Celie was telling her at all. So she took a deep breath and removed her arms from Celie’s waist. “Come here” she said intertwining Celie’s hand, making their way to the couch.
Shug sat down and guided Celie to sit down on her lap. She pulled her chin down so that way the two could be eye leveled. “Celie, you know that you can be as vulnerable with me as you want. This isn’t old Albert’s house where you have to be mute. Talk to me baby”. Shug said with her hand still on Celie’s chin.
A tear rolled down Celie’s face. “Shug, I love being here in Memphis with you, but I-it just feels like all of this is happening so fast I-I feel like one day I’m gonna blink and it’s all just gonna go away. You, my house in Georgia, and my clothing store”. Celie stopped for a moment to wipe away the fallen tears that she shed and took a breath before saying, “I have nightmares of Albert and my step pa just creeping up and taking everything from me, just like they did with Nettie. I mean what if your nex—-“
Before she could finish Shug pulled her into a passionate kiss. After a few seconds Shug pulled away and said “Celie stop with all that negative shit. You know that I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here and this is where I intend to stay. I got your back no matter what, because I love you. An—and you know I’ve never felt this way about nobody else. You’re mine and I’m yours, forever.” Shug said passionately making sure her lover understood every word that was coming out of her mouth.
As Shug wiped Celie’s tears, along with the few that she shed Celie said, “I love you to Shug” with a small smile forming.
“You know we never really been on our first official date before” Shug said with a hint of laughter. “Unless you count us fuc—
“Shug”! Celie said as she let out a chuckle, burying her face into Shug’s neck in embarrassment.
“No, but forreal Celie. As nice as our bedroom is, I want us to do more and see more, together”. Shug has already seen so much of the world by herself, with Celie by her side, she knows that this time around she won’t feel alone with her lover right by her side.
“I’d love to see the world with you Shug, but we should start small just so you know, it won’t be all that overwhelming for me”.
“Of course baby”. Shug said placing a kiss on Celie’s neck.

One neck kiss led to another and another. There the two lovers sprawled on the couch making love till the sun came up.
