Work Text:
When Jace steps through the side entry of the house, the first thing he notices is that it’s eerily quiet.
It’s not even eight o’clock; everyone should be having dinner, but as he crosses the kitchen and dining room, he doesn’t find anyone and the lights are off everywhere, giving the house a strange and silent emptiness. Maybe there was some kind of event that he had spaced out on? He’s about to check his family’s group chat when he hears a set of muffled but familiar giggling coming from the living room.
Surely enough, he finds Luke sprawled out on the fluffy rug, lying on his back and smiling up at his phone while some annoying reality show plays on the T.V.
“What are you smiling at?” he asks playfully.
Luke startles and drops his phone, rising on elbows to give him a sheepish smile. “Hey, Jace.”
“Where is everyone?”
“Well,” Luke lifts himself into a sitting position, crossing his legs into a lazy lotus pose and giving Jace his full attention. “Mom and Daemon went out for dinner,” he raises his brows suggestively. “The girls are out, too. Joff’s at a sleepover, and the little ones went to bed hours ago. So, I guess it’s just you and me.”
“Okay…so, are you gonna tell me who’s got you giggling like a middle-schooler?”
Even in the darkened room, Jace recognizes the endearing look of embarrassment on his brother’s face, the way he blushes as if Jace caught him doing something inappropriate. The lights from the television shine on him, flashing blue, red, violet, and causing his soft features to appear even more ethereal than usual. Jace averts his eyes and readjusts the backpack he has still slung over his shoulder.
“Just a guy,” Luke says in a quiet voice. “From school.”
“‘Just a guy?’ Who? Do I know him?” It’s been two years since Jace has been in high school, and he sure as hell won’t remember everyone who still goes there, but that doesn’t mean he can ignore his older-brother-responsibility to annoyingly question him.
“Jace,” Luke whines. “I’m sixteen. Mom gave me the green light on dating, so don’t worry about it. Besides, this one’s nice. I think you’d like him.”
“What does that mean? Is he your boyfriend?” Since when was his little brother dating?
Luke snorts. “God, no. I mean, not yet. He just asked me out today. Said we could do something this Friday.”
“Right…” Jace plays with the keys in his pocket. “And Mom said this is completely okay?”
“Yeah! Jesus Christ, why are you being so…? You and Baela went out when you guys were like fourteen!”
Jace rolls his eyes. “That’s because it was Baela.” A relationship that was something only their family would encourage, futilely since they split up after graduation anyway. “Okay, whatever. I’m going to go,” he motions towards the stairs, indicating that he’s going to change out of his student ambassador’s uniform.
Luke mumbles something back as he unlocks his phone to stare at it again, biting the inside of his cheek like he does when something’s made him uncomfortable. Jace hates that he’s the cause of said discomfort, but he sighs and trudges up the stairs loudly, only remembering at the last second that their youngest siblings are asleep and he should try being more quiet.
An hour later, after a much-needed shower, Jace’s fingers tap idly on the door of the fridge, his tired eyes scanning its contents for the third time before closing it in defeat. He isn’t really hungry, so he just grabs a bottle of water–the strawberry-lemonade-tasting one Luke likes–and heads back to the living room.
Luke’s sitting on the couch now, quickly placing his phone face down when he notices Jace walk in. He crosses his arms and leans back into the plush cushions, feigning interest in the show that’s still on. He looks like an angry puppy with the way he’s folded himself onto the couch, his legs and bare feet pulled up off the floor, his thinned mouth, and exceptional focus on the television. Doesn’t even glance up when Jace sits down right next to him, stretching his legs out on the ottoman.
Jace pointedly takes his time opening the bottle and taking the first sip. When he hears the predictable clicking of a tongue, he fights off a smile.
“Why are you drinking my water?”
“ Your water? This was just there, out in the open for anyone to find!”
“No, it wasn’t, Jacaerys!”
Predictably, Luke proceeds to fight him for it, climbing on top of him to snatch the bottle Jace keeps at an arm’s length. Jace places a hand on his chest and pushes him down onto the couch. Luke’s feet go up and start helplessly kicking around. In their scuffle, the bottle goes rolling onto the floor, but Jace forgets about the damn water because now he’s got his brother underneath him, giggling and playfully trying to get Jace’s hands from tickling him.
Mercifully, Jace stops but captures Luke’s upper arms, pressing him down so he’ll quit squirming. His knees drive down into the couch in between Luke’s splayed legs that are propped up on either side of him. The amused grin falls from Jace’s face, and Luke seems to sense a shift in him, finally putting an end to his writhing.
Luke’s laughter stills, instead turning into a set of uneven breaths, warm puffs that caress Jace’s cheek. His soft hands begin to snake up Jace’s arms, as much as they can while restrained like this, and Jace realizes he’s panting as though he’s just finished running a mile. Blue light from the T.V. gleams onto the top half of his brother’s face, making the sparse glittery eye shadow he wears more obvious.
“You’re just jealous,” Luke says quietly, lips slipping into a sly grin.
“What?” Jace barely notes that Luke is even speaking. He’s still caught by the way his brother’s dark endless eyes shimmer with the television light and from his residual laughter.
“You’re jealous,” he repeats. “Because it’s been so long since you’ve had anyone, and now I’m dating someone. You don’t think it’s fair.”
Jace shakes his head. If only Luke knew of the several one-night stands Jace has had lately, he wouldn’t be saying that. Men, women, all with pretty brown hair and dark eyes. The sex is always better when Jace takes them from behind and can see their dark curls bouncing with every thrust–
“Shut up,” he says rather tersely, letting Luke go and sitting back away from him. “I’m not fucking jealous.”
Luke’s expression turns more serious, catching the change in the air; Jace is normally so easy-going. Jace can feel him staring at the side of his face, assessing him.
“Love life’s pretty shitty right now, huh?”
Jace doesn’t reply, only gazes ahead of him at all the idiot people getting drunk in a club. Why was Luke even watching this? He can feel his brain losing precious cells with every second that passes.
He clears his throat and repositions himself on the sofa, sitting rigidly and still not glancing at his brother. Smoothing down his shirt, he considers the real discussion he wanted to have with Luke.
“You know how to stay safe, right? If you and your guy…y’know?” He still doesn’t look at the other boy, but he can tell that he’s making a shocked face at him, as though he never expected Jace to broach this particular subject with him.
“Obviously,” Luke finally answers, though his voice doesn’t sound too sure.
With a frown, Jace turns to him. “I’m being serious, Lucerys. You don’t want to catch anything from him.”
Luke’s eyes dart down into his lap when Jace tries to meet them. “ I know, but it’s not like we’re going to…do any of that. It’ll be our first time going out, Jace. And even if he wanted to–I don’t really think I’d be able to do anything anyway. I mean, I’ve never even given anyone a blowjob–”
“God, Luke, you don’t have to tell me that. ” He’s suddenly uncomfortable enough to get up and leave, but Luke continues.
“Have you?”
“What?”
“Given anyone a blowjob?”
“Look, we’re not talking about that anymore, okay?”
“Why not? You’re my brother. Who else am I supposed to talk about this with?”
Jace sighs, turning his head away. He opens his mouth and closes it. Does the same thing again until he gives up and stays quiet.
His brother scoots up closer to him, near enough for Jace to feel the warm air that escapes through his parted lips. “Jace,” he says softly. “Do you not want to talk about this because you’re my brother, or because…you don’t want to think about me having sex with someone else?”
Jace lets out a strangled laugh. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I know why this bothers you.”
“Oh, do you?”
“Yeah, I do. Jace, look at me.” He places a hand on Jace’s cheek–his touch burning right through him–so that he turns his face. When Jace meets his eyes, he keeps his expression blank. “I know you like me,” he whispers like it’s a bad thing, and it probably is. If it wasn’t, Jace wouldn’t have been pining for his little brother for the past four years. Outside their family, this isn’t a normal thing to feel for one’s sibling.
“You’re crazy,” he whispers back, convincing absolutely no one. Luke hears the waver in his voice and gives him a sympathetic look.
“No, I’m not,” his voice is overly gentle. “And I’ll show you that you’re not crazy, either.”
Jace thinks he means to kiss him, so he flinches back, but Luke hops off the couch to kneel in between Jace’s legs. He runs his hands up his calves and over the top of his thighs, sending tiny sparks of electricity right to Jace’s cock. Who’s he kidding? His dick has been interested since they started play wrestling, but now it’s more obvious with the way it tents his pants as Luke draws closer.
He knows he has the ability to push his brother off of him. To say he’s mistaken and go to his room, try to forget this entirely, pretend like it never even happened. With the way Luke’s hands settle patiently on his thighs, he knows he’s giving Jace the opportunity to run away.
But he stays.
He stays to watch as his brother’s enchanting eyes light up with triumph and his mouth starts hovering enticingly up Jace’s inner thighs, taking his time with each one before reaching his crotch. When Luke pulls down his pants, Jace lets out a long agonizing breath. Luke’s ghosting his lips over his boxers now, a wet spot blooming visibly on the fabric.
“Wait,” he says, his breathing unsteady and his hands making fists at his sides. “Luke, this isn’t–you shouldn’t–it’s–”
“It’s wrong?” Luke taunts. He rubs a palm over Jace’s erection, making him hiss at how good it feels. “Then, get up and leave. I’m not stopping you.” A tense moment passes without Jace moving an inch, and his brother hums. “That’s what I thought.”
Luke takes out Jace’s cock, hard and already at attention, and wraps a hand firmly around him. His strokes are slow but not nervous. Jace sees the way his brother appears almost transfixed by it, his strokes pulling down the foreskin and revealing a blushing cockhead, leaking and begging for a warm mouth to swallow it down. Luke ducks down to lick at the head, picking up a lazy drop of precum, soft pink tongue slithering up and over the tip.
“Fuck,” Jace breathes.
Luke gives him another stroke before his lips part even wider. Before they wrap around him, Jace places a hand on Luke’s wrist. His brother gives him a glare that says “now what” which turns softer when he sees Jace place a cushion on the floor for Luke to kneel on. He blushes and grabs Jace’s shaft to continue where they had left off.
When Luke takes him into his mouth, it’s like nothing Jace has ever experienced before.
He fumbles with it at first, his delicate hand coming up to meet his stretched lips, his excited eyes debating whether or not he likes the taste of him. Clearly inexperienced, but Jace would give anything to have his brother like this again rather than have anyone else’s more practiced mouth on him. Luke suckles on Jace’s cockhead, fascinated with how Jace feels on his tongue or perhaps by the uncontrolled moans that rumble out of him. His lips slide down just a bit more, and it feels like heaven.
Jace brushes a hand through his brother’s silky hair, the strands curling back when he lets go of them. He leaves his hand there, to caress him rather than control him. He wants Luke to set his own pace, to become as familiar with Jace’s cock as he wants. Luke hums at Jace’s touch, sending an electric spasm through him.
A shameless whine slips through him. Luke shuts his eyes and works his way down, pausing when he gags to move back and swallow through the reflex, relaxing his throat and getting used to the sensation before taking more. Jace is amazed, and if he can admit it, even proud of his little brother’s slow but resolute determination to take all of him into his throat.
“I thought you said you’ve never done this before,” Jace accuses lightly.
Luke gazes up at him, the beginning of a tear glistening at the corner of his eye. His lips drag over him sweetly as pulls off. “I wasn’t lying.” His voice already sounds rough even though he’s only been sucking Jace’s dick for no more than five minutes. “But who better to practice on if not my big brother?”
Jace mirrors his grin and holds his breath as Luke dives back in, this time reaching as far as he can go in one fell swoop. His hand releases the base to find Jace’s sac. He stops bobbing his head and merely swallows every so often, as if unable to multitask both sucking him and fondling his balls.
He’s very close to having all of Jace down his throat, but something makes him stay right where he is, shutting his fluttering eyelids and finding a calm balance between training his gag reflex and keeping Jace’s cock snug where it lies in his throat. His mouth is so warm and soft around him, tight and wet. Jace keeps breathing heavily through it, gently sweeping Luke’s hair back as if petting him, silently praising him for reaching as far as he has.
Jace remembers the first time he had sucked a man’s cock. It had been about the same length as his but it took him much more time to get to the root without continually gagging. It was someone from his stats class his first semester in university. Undoubtedly hot but not particularly memorable.
This–Luke on his knees for him, letting Jace be the first to take his mouth–is something Jace will think back on for years to come. Possibly for the remainder of his life.
Nothing, no one could ever surpass this.
Unless Luke would let him have him again. In other ways that could be pleasurable for them both.
He’s very aware that his brother is most likely only using Jace as a rehearsal. A safe harbor for him to try this without risking criticism or rejection. Jace would let Luke do whatever he wished to him, he would introduce him to anything he wanted, even if it was merely preparation for him to go on and pleasure someone else. He would do this knowing Luke would never completely be his because he has no say over who Luke belongs to as long as Jace gets to be his .
Jace has known he has belonged to Luke since he was first cognizant enough to recall the moment he threw his arms around him and called him “brother.” Claiming him, setting Jace’s fate in stone. A fate that would have him desire his brother forever.
“ Lucerys ,” he groans, reveres.
It doesn’t take very long for the tightening in his lower belly to burst. For him to shout when Luke swallows him to the base at last, the tip of his button nose burrowing into Jace’s lower curls.
He can feel himself about to spill, a flood that he tries to spare Luke from. But his brother is stubborn. He clings onto Jace’s thighs, gripping so tightly Jace has no other recourse but to come down his brother’s throat.
Luke groans with him as Jace cries, his vision blurring as the television’s colors bleed into the backs of his eyelids. He thinks he pulls at Luke’s hair without intending to because suddenly he feels him impossibly closer and his fingers scrabbling at Jace’s grip, desperately seeking to be released. Within his haze, Jace manages to let go and Luke slides off of him, leaving him cold and experiencing his pleasure alone.
But just as quickly as Luke leaves him, Jace feels him at his side. Tucking Jace back into his sweatpants and climbing right on top of him to throw his slim arms around his neck and snuggle in below his chin. He’s panting just as hard as Jace, as if he had found his peak, too. By the darkened patch Jace’s refocused eyes spot on his brother’s clothed crotch, he sees evidence of it. He wraps his arms around Luke, yearning to keep him here forever.
“You’re amazing,” he whispers into the top of his brother’s head. His curls are slightly damp with sweat, and Jace breathes him in.
Luke chuckles weakly. “Thank you,” he murmurs.
“Thank you . That’s the best fucking thing that’s ever happened to me.” He squeezes the younger boy. “ You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
He doesn’t know why he says it. Only that he was thinking it and the ecstasy of his afterglow gave him the strength to admit it aloud.
“Jace,” Luke pulls back.
Jace winces, bracing himself for the rejection that’s sure to come. For Luke to tell him that this was just a spontaneous thing between them. That it most likely won’t happen again because he’s not really into him like that. He can’t be–they’re brothers.
He glances down at those mesmerizing eyes that look up at him with slight worry, as though wanting to admit something to him but nervous of what Jace would think.
“That boy I was telling you about, I didn’t reply to him, but…I’m going to tell him ‘no.’”
“What? Why?”
The pads of Luke’s fingers curl into the hair at Jace’s neck. He gives him a careful look. “You know why.”
Jace’s breath catches in his throat. He cups Luke’s cheek ever so gently, thumb sweeping out to brush over his plush lower lip. His little brother nuzzles into his hand, grinning bashfully. So cute and shimmery and perfect.
“Luke, I–”
But Jace doesn’t get to finish what he had wanted to confess because all of a sudden, Luke swoops down to claim his mouth. Restless fingers gripping the sides of his face and pressing his sensitive lips to Jace’s, clumsy enough with this, too, that he surmises this to be Luke’s first kiss.
So Jace opens his lips and lets Luke explore, have his way with him as he spiritedly delves in an impatient tongue. Jace leans back and tastes himself, growing hard again as Luke rolls his hips against him. He breathes in through his nose and exhales through his mouth, feeling Luke gulp it down greedily as though it were his only source of air.
Maybe he means it. Maybe Luke will forget about that boy from school and give Jace a chance.
It doesn’t matter how long Luke plans on keeping him, even if he only strings him along in the end. It won’t matter because for however long it lasts, he’ll be Luke’s.
And God , how he wants to be Luke’s.
