Chapter Text
It was supposed to be a fun day. He supposed he would have a good time with his friends like every other day.
But why did he have to ruin everything?
Now all he wanted was to go home and lay in bed the rest of the weekend.
“Seriously, bro. Who buys you this stuff? Or did you pick it yourself?”
One of his friends said, and immediately all of them joined him and started adding jokes and funny comments. Even the gorgeous girl hanging from his arm was laughing with them.
Yuuji smiled uncomfortably in his place, pretending not to be bothered by anything they said when it was actually the opposite.
“Nah, bro. My older brother bought it. He just has terrible taste” he simply answered, running his hand through his hair and placing it on the back of his neck, very uncomfortable about the situation.
Did they not notice something was off about him?
“Is he trying to embarrass you or something? Weren't there any men's colors to choose?
“Yeah. He's trying to make you look gay so you scare off all the girls” Another one said, obtaining a deadly glare from the only girl there.
Yuuji and his friends were hanging out, specifically at Starbucks, since it was Saturday and they had nothing else to do. He didn't really want to go outside, but they practically dragged him there.
When Yuuji was setting out to decide on an outfit to go out with, he saw a simple pink hoodie nearly hidden in his closet. And he wasn't lying. His older brother did buy it for him as a gift a few months ago. However, he never wore it. It was entirely new. That's why he decided to wear it this afternoon.
But now he regretted his choice.
“Hey! Don't make fun of him!”
Yuuji's eyes were almost shining bright when he heard the girl next to him say those words.
“Huh? You were just laughing too, Ozawa!” One of his friends pointed out.
The girl, instead of saying something about that, grabbed Yuuji's chin to force eye contact with him.
“Don't listen to them, Yuuji. I still like you…” she said, looking at him with a hint of grace in her eyes. Then she added, “Even with your girly clothes and your girly hair and your girly personality…”
Everyone around them burst out laughing. Yuuji stopped Ozawa's hand when she tried to touch his hair and untangled their arms so he could move his chair away from her dramatically.
He really won the lottery with his friends.
Yuuji couldn't stop thinking about that moment with them for the entire weekend.
When he came home that day, he checked himself in the mirror to see if the hoodie didn't suit him or looked bad on him. But neither of those options were true. He realized he did look good.
But his friends would bully him forever if he wore it again.
It wasn't a garment a boy his age would wear, anyway. So he immediately took it off and threw it away in his brother's part of the closet.
When Monday came, Yuuji had to force himself to get out of bed and get ready. He would rather not leave his room, but not going to school wasn't an option.
Yuuji was so self-absorbed in his thoughts that he almost didn't notice the small piece of paper falling when he opened his locker to put his shoes inside. He laid down and grabbed it. It was a yellow post-it with something written on it with black ink.
Pink looks good on you. It suits you. You should wear it more often.
