Chapter 1: And so she walks
Summary:
We're All Worried About You, 13
Notes:
(She steps along the corridor and she does not weep. She probably should, but she’s too stubborn for her own good)
Chapter Text
She stepped along the corridor, metal boards somehow creaking with every step, defying their nature.
Her ship could do anything — defy nature, her nature, our nature.
The corridor was endless. And so she walked, stubborn, on and on and on like she wasn’t supposed to, like she was being told every step of the way to give up, little Doctor, just give in. Nothing left for you to fight or fight for.
And still she walked on. Perhaps that’s why. A little stubbornness. Too stubborn for her own good.
Her TARDIS whispered, begged her to stop, but Doctors don’t stop.
Chapter 2: Heartburn
Summary:
thasmin was built for yearning.
Notes:
(still obsessed with river_of_words’ fic voidian existentialism. It’s probably their fault I wrote this)
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Two hearts. One happy, one sad; what a conundrum. Won’t be settled.
Hurt again today, out on some daredevilry that she should have seen coming with her impossible Doctor. “Did you know your resting heartrate is faster in your left heart than your right? It’s like the speed is, I don’t know, depressed” She trailed off, one hand on the monitor, trying not to look at the Doctor, who was twitching uncomfortably.
“Yeah, they do that” She responded.
The difference made her burn white-hot, barely contained, on good days. Wasn’t built for contrast. And so she carried it with her.
Notes:
(She patted her right heart when she said one of her hearts was sad when Graham and Ryan left. If you even care.)
Chapter 3: Clocks
Summary:
The ghostfucking chapter, or rather, the yearning for the ghostfucking. The Master, trapped inside the TARDIS in the form of an echo, knows he has no place here, for the Doctor has his own Master. The Real Master. And he could never compare, never join, always watching but can never, ever, touch...
Notes:
(Found out recently that there is still an echo of the Master left in the Doctor’s TARDIS — thanks Wyrdvora! https://tardis.wiki/wiki/The_Master_(The_TV_Movie) if you’re interested — oh, and, don’t forget to migrate your TARDIS wiki account!)
Chapter Text
Tick tock goes the clock, as the Master sings the Doctor to sleep with his chimes.
Tick tock goes their hearts as they all beat together.
An echo is all he is, but that is enough; enough to sing his Doctor to sleep. But not enough, no, never enough; never enough to protect him from the nightmares. He hides in the TARDIS, whispering and gossiping (and cringing) when he sees himself. His counterpart. The real Master, ready for his Doctor, battling and fighting and kissing and fucking, right on the console.
The echo wants to join. Can’t. Instead, he sings.
Chapter 4: Arms
Summary:
The Doctor knows the Master is there, watching over him.
Notes:
(part two of the last one — ooh first person timeeee. This is like idk. Aftercare. Also showed this to my friend and she thought it was from Sexy’s POV so like, can be read many ways)
Chapter Text
He holds me tight.
Every night, he thinks I don’t know, but I do. Maybe he does know; can he still feel me, trapped inside these halls? I don’t know. Maybe I never will.
I have my version, my Master, and he really is mine — but it’s nice to know I’ll always carry another Him with me. Just an echo, but it’s enough. He reminds me of home, no, not home — he reminds me of us.
So, when he thinks I don’t know, when I’m dreaming about loss and grief and pain and rage, I feel his arms around me.
Chapter 5: Girl's night
Summary:
(Dhawan Master and River fuck nasty)
Notes:
(Dhawan Master and River fuck nasty)
Chapter Text
He isn’t a woman anymore; that should make a difference as he’s not trying to be good. Why does he think women are good? What does their society teach about gender that he thinks like this?
What a waste. Time Lords are idiots.
He raises an eyebrow; she winks, nods, receives a nod back, and —
Knee on hip and arm across chest and —
Hot breath across lips and tongue on teeth and there he goes, just as ferocious as she was, and the Doctor will be home soon but who cares, who cares, who cares…
Always room for one more.
Chapter 6: Drink from me
Notes:
(Real attempt at smut!!! I was just talking about Dracula to a friend so you know where the idea came from. ‘He’ is the Master, and the speaker is the Doctor. I think sucking you(r blood) off is a kind of worship.)
(Also this deserves extra warning for violence but like, vampiric, so kinda hot in a fucked up way)
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
He punches a hole and I make him drink from me, head down to my arm, to my chest, as the red dribbles from his lips. He looks up at me, gorged and feasting; I laugh. No room for secrets when we are so close. Not even air passes between us to sting my wound as he takes more, more, more from me — I always liked vampires. Not as they come on Earth, all camp on breakfast cereal, but as they are in Gallifrey’s stories. They take and take until you’re in hell and they’ve dragged you down with them.
Notes:
(Upon showing this to my friend, she commented: “but the doctor is a vampire. He should be sucking off the master”. Because vampirism in Doctor Who is of course about ‘shamblers from the stars’, aka ‘star vampires’, aka those big scary beasties that come from outside the universe/another universe, such as Yssgaroth. If you want to know more, well, TARDIS.wiki/wiki is always there for you. Remember, the new wiki, not the fandom one!)
Chapter 7: Lost
Summary:
11 realises he's running with someone very, very familiar...

Chapter Text
Tweed and purple running side by side, dashing past the laser-shots. Tweed was always faster than purple.
“O? O, where are you?” He was hiding behind a dumpster, waiting, then —
“I’m here, I’m here” He crashed into the other man as he dove for cover, and their minds connected in a flash of whirling colour.
“Oh”
“That’s my name, don’t —” He began, then stopped, knowing the jig was up.
“It’s really you”
“Not the last anymore. Not that you ever were when we ran” The Master joked, but it came out hollow.
“I never meant to leave you behind”.
Notes:
(100 words isn’t enough but like. You can ~imagine~ the comfort that follows! Or more pain. Sorry. I can write something longer if you want)
Chapter 8: Beach Day
Summary:
Jack, Rose, and the Ninth Doctor all go to the beach and finally have a calm, relaxing day where nothing bad happens.
Notes:
(Thanks to anon for the prompt! https://www.tumblr.com/theangelshavethephonebox/744577687928160256/hi-i-heard-you-wanted-drabble-prompts-i-have-two?source=share )
Also, AO3 is lying!!! I've counted out all my words and copy/pasted into different documents- it's exactly 100 every time! I promise! Arghhhh
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Pale granules slipped in-between her toes as she skidded along the beach, towel over one shoulder, sunglasses pushed up to hold back her blond hair. No doubt even blonder after this time in the sun.
She was chasing Jack, slapping him playfully with the towel for each stupid joke about her and the Doctor, all while the latter ignored the pair, sitting half-submerged in the clear blue water. Calm at last; the screams and terror that tortured him subsided. For once, he didn’t have to run.
He relaxed into the lapping waves as his friends played happily. All was good.
Notes:
(They deserve to be happy. They finally get a break — thanks anon!)
Chapter 9: Ascension
Summary:
The Doctor and Donna end up on a planet called Latreia, where they are worshipped as deities.
Notes:
(From the same anon as before! Thanks! (https://www.tumblr.com/theangelshavethephonebox/744577687928160256/hi-i-heard-you-wanted-drabble-prompts-i-have-two?source=share). A little deification for your Sunday.)
Chapter Text
Vworp vworp said the machine as she landed on Latreia. Browncoat stepped out, quickly followed by Red. Finally — The Coming of the Foretold.
Children came to watch as the blue pied piper summoned them with her call. Parents didn’t believe until we brought the pair into town; then, how could they deny us?
“Your coming has been foretold”, said their President, even as the strangers protested and refused the honours.
Though the pair swore they’d never been here before, we all knew, and so, we bowed. Bowed before the Deities who had saved us, once upon a time — bowed deep.
Chapter 10: Ladies
Summary:
River visits the Doctor at the university... though, she gets a little sidetracked (;
Notes:
(Thank you anon!!! Different anon, it looks like — thank you for the prompt! (https://www.tumblr.com/theangelshavethephonebox/744578128694968320/prompt-river-visits-12-and-bill-at-the?source=share))
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
When River swept into the vault, she knew to expect the unexpected. But, really Doctor? Blindfolds and ropes barely hidden, and the Doctor’s oldest enemy frolicking with her piano. So much glee from one who caused so much pain.
But they got along famously. Of course they did — the pair always had, and so, within hours, she was breaking Missy out and drinking in the student bar. A young woman in a rainbow shirt sat next to them.
“So, what’s it like, being married to the Doctor?” Bill asked cheekily. River and Missy smiled, answering at the same time.
“Hell”.
Notes:
(Sorry, I know it’s not very shenanigans-y, but feel free to tell me to write a follow-up!)
