Chapter Text
Collapsing on my mattress, which lay frameless on the floor, I let out a big sigh.
"Why is moving so hard?" I said to myself.
A loud grumble from my stomach interrupted my thoughts and I groaned. Knowing my pantries are completely barren, I didn't even bother looking for something to eat. I turned over and snuggled onto the bare mattress.
“I'll get some groceries tomorrow.” I thought to myself.
I then fell asleep tossing and turning, excited about my new life.
The next day I was walking to the grocery store at 10am when I saw a coffee shop on the way. I walked in and got in line. A cute redheaded girl who was in line in front of me said, “Their cakes are like, to die for.” She smiled at me. “Summer.” She held out her hand. “y/n.” I smiled back and shook her hand. I noticed she was sort of… checking me out? Huh.
“So, what brings you to town?” She said, looking me up and down nonchalantly.
Damn, is it really that obvious I'm new in town?
“You know, life, moving out. I just graduated college.” I said trying to sound nonchalant. “How old are you?”
“I'm 19. What about you?” She said,
“I'm 19 too.” I said, trying to be casual.
“Wait, how are you 19 and graduated?” She asked.
I don't like to talk about it, but I'm referred to as a prodigy. I was born with an IQ of 155. I hated growing up being the youngest in a class.
“Oh, I skipped a few grades.” I replied, trying to undersell myself.
“That's cool. Anyway, here's my number. I’ll text you.” She handed me a piece of paper and started taking her order.
When she got her drink, she left and waved to me. I had taken my order and was waiting for my food. I got a hot chocolate and a croissant to go. I went to the grocery store and stocked my fridge. At around 1pm I collapsed in my bed and checked my phone. Suddenly, I got a ping from i-messages, and it was Summer.
“hey it’s summer”
“hii”
I quickly named the contact.
“so i was wondering if you wanted to come to a party my grandpa’s throwing tonight, my parents r outta town”
“grandpa?”
“lol he's chill dw.”
“sure im up for it, when?”
“like 8. dress slutty, if u want lmfao. the address is__________”
“k ill see u there”``
“cyaa”
Damn, first day in town and I've already got invited to a party. I’m not used to these kinds of parties, spending high school as a kid and college underage.
I spent my afternoon watching Netflix, studying, and when 7pm rolled around I started getting ready. I decided to wear some baggy jeans and a tight, low cut, black shirt. I did my makeup and put on some grungy pencil eyeliner. I started driving to the address and when I pulled up, I saw flashing lights and loud music. As I approached it was obvious I underestimated Summer's text. I knocked and Summer threw open the front door.
