With the silvery lift doors closing, enveloping them in complete privacy (apart from the obligatory security camera, of course), Yunho let out a sigh. This had been... a less than relaxing meeting, really, going over the set list for the next leg of concerts. Stretching his shoulders, Yunho shot a glance at his sole companion in the elevator – a tousled, exhausted-looking Changmin. There had been discussions today. There had been (minor) arguments. There had been good ideas – and bad ones. Despite their butting heads today, Yunho still felt a tinge of relief when Changmin lifted his head and smiled.
”Not a bad result, eh, hyung?”
”Not at all, Changdol-ah.” Yunho replied. Ah, he couldn't wait to go home and fall into bed. Yes, bed, Yunho mused – his was lonelier than Changmin's probably was, and that thought stung. He had tried so hard to squish down the blushing today, and here he was, feeling his cheeks warm at the thought of Changmin going to bed. With his wife. Changmin has a wife, Yunho chided himself. A wife he would miss. Only a few months and they'd be on the road again, sharing rooms and apartments, cars, dinners, wardrobes... Yunho tried not to think too hard about undressing backstage and potentially seeing more of Changmin than he told himself he wanted to. No, it would be worse, having to see Changmin in the adorably grumpy state he got in when he was overtired, like he would be after a concert, or many concerts in a row. It would definitely make Yunho's heart ache more, even more than it had lately. After the whole... wedding thing.
Yunho didn't necessarily fancy himself a romantic, but seeing Changmin getting married had set thoughts in his head he thought he had pushed away long ago. Thoughts of himself marrying Changmin, specifically. It had been nothing more than a fantasy of youth, he had told himself. It had been nothing more than a passing fancy, he had told himself. And yet, in this elevator, humming between the floors, Yunho felt his heart ache.
And then, a ding! The elevator doors opening, Yunho shot himself a final look in the mirrored wall – and silently wiped away a tear.
