Shai rolls her eyes at yet another nasty message from her ex-husband on discord. She really needed to muster up the courage to block him but…he was still the father of her children and she was hoping against hope that he'd change.
Switching to Bubble she giggled at the pouty selfie Hyunjin had sent a few minutes prior and sent him a message.
Me: Looking fine as always Prince Charming.
Me: Brightens my not so great day to see your handsome face.
Me: My ex wasn't being nice.
Across the world from the Michigan apartment where Shai resided Hwang Hyunjin looked down at his phone with a frown marring his model worthy face.
His boyfriend Seo Changbin walked into the room the couple shared, opening his mouth to tell his boyfriend that it was almost time to leave for the day when he saw the frown “What's wrong baby?” he asked
“One of our regulars. Their ex is being mean to them again.” He says softly
“The one with the rainbow profile picture of all of us? The American?” Changbin asked.
“Yeah? How’d you know?” Hyunjin looked up at him from where he was sitting.
“They messaged me yesterday. About their ex being mean.” Changbin says sitting down next to Hyunjin.
“Shit…” Hyunjin mutters. “I know we shouldn't…get so involved but…”
“They are really nice.” Changbin says, “Always telling us they're proud to be a Stay and yes sometimes they vent to us but altogether…they seem sweet.”
“I'm worried. They seem sadder and sadder.” Hyunjin tells him. “Do you think there's any way we could…”
“Get in contact with them?” Changbin finishes his boyfriend's thought
Hyunjin actually blushes “Their a Stay. They're one of MY Stay. So many people buy our Bubbles just to be mean directly to us. They stand out to me.”
“Me too baby. There's got to be a way we can at least reassure them that they aren't alone.” Changbin nods resolutely
“We should ask Channie-Hyung.” Hyunjin says, “Maybe he knows a way.”
Both men get up and leave their room in search of Chan, who's sitting in the living room, a very pouty Felix on his lap.
“Channie-hyung?” Hyunjin asked “We need help with something.”
Chan and Felix look up from where both men are looking at Felix's phone to give their attention to their bandmates. “Yeah what's up?”
“Is this a good time? We can come back later.” Changbin tells them
“No no, Felix got a message on Bubble that made him sad. We were trying to think of a way or at least something to say to help this Stay.” Chan tells them
“Rainbow profile picture of all of us? Super nice? Sometimes vents about a mean ex?” Hyunjin says shaking his head
“How'd you…” Felix starts
“They talk to us too.” Changbin says “I'm almost sure they have all 8 of us on Bubble”
“They have me and Jagi.” Han says walking in the living room having overheard the conversation from the kitchen. “I'm certain they have Min and Innie too. Innie mentioned them because they made a joke calling him Père Baguette after he had his little glow up.”
“That's why he changed his name in the chat? Cute.” Chan says smiling for a second before he frowns again. “I want to help them. I just…we can't go looking for a random Stay. I don't know how we'd even begin doing that.”
“Chris…” Felix starts to say something in protest.
“I didn't say no. I said I didn't know how we'd start.” Chan immediately tells his boyfriend, wrapping both arms around the smaller man's waist. “We'll help them darling. I don't know how yet but we will.”
Meanwhile back in Michigan Shai was sitting at her desk at work, fiddling with the ears on her Leebit with one hand as she scrolled her phone during a rare lull at her usually very busy job, a grin brightening her face as her phone buzzed and the little JYP popped up in her notification bar signaling that one of her precious ones was active. To her surprise it was Seungmin. Stay's Doberman was rarely awake at this time in the afternoon so she quickly tapped on the notif to see what was up with him.
Minnie!: Stay, I couldn't sleep. Sometimes I worry about you, Shai. I hope you're okay.
Shai knew very well that he wasn't speaking directly to her. All Kpop stans with Bubble knew about the magical Y/N button that inserted your name into their messages. But regardless she screenshotted the message and saved it for those times when she was down.
Shai had only been a Stay for a few years, having been a BTS Army for most of her Kpop Fandom life, but her 8 wandering children had quickly risen to be her ult group and the ones she held dearest to her heart.
Her phone buzzed again drawing her attention as the little JYP popped up again and she grinned brightly as it was her own bias Hyunjin this time.
Prince Charming!: I'm getting ready to go to bed, have a good rest Shai!
“Aww. I love himmmm” Shai murmurs as she saves the message and gets back to work.
Later that evening she's curled up in bed doom scrolling Instagram when a new post from Han shows up, featuring the idol in question playing the guitar and singing.
“Oh fuck you Han Jisung.” Shai whispers as not to wake her roommate Bella.
“He's so pretty, why is he so pretty,” she whines as she plays the short video over and over. Han was more of a Wrecker then a bias but it didn't mean she found him any less attractive.
Shai sighed as she laid her head down to sleep, popping on her chill Stray Kids playlist. She had to get at least a few hours sleep before she woke up early for SKZ’s 4th Fanmeeting: Magic School. She was so excited from all the videos she’d seen on Tiktok and Twitter…just one more sleep before she saw her boys again. Even if it was through her computer and TV screen, seeing them always made her so happy, she forgot about all her problems for those few hours.
“I found a way!” Chan bursts into SKZ's green room at the Kspo Dome in Seoul as the rest of his boys were getting ready for night 2 of their Fanmeet.
Felix looks up from where one of their stylist Noonas are doing his makeup. “Found a way for what?” he asked
“To help our little star!” Chan says excitedly. “BamBam-Hyung! He put forth the idea of sending them voice messages. This way we can talk directly to them.”
“That's…can we do that? Stay might take it the wrong way.” Minho asked
“We all agree we want to help our little Star right?” Chan asked
“Of course.” Changbin says “I'm so worried about them. They messaged overnight, I guess they had a hard day again.”
“Let's do it.” Han says determined “We can each leave a message after the fanmeet. This way they wake up to them.”
