Chapter Text
Hearing muffled giggles from behind the door she was preparing for another awkward sight, straightening her skirt she pushed right through with no regard like she'd done time and time before.
"Mr. Uzumaki you're live in 5."
A sharp squeal followed by a stifled laugh from the blonde made his assistant scoff. Going to his desk she put down a stack of files.
"Ma'am, I do believe our guest for the segment should be getting her make up done. So if you would.", she iterated while the brunette buttoned up her blouse and left, Boruto sending her a little wink.
"Sir your hair." she sighed moving towards him, her hands fixing his blond mop. "And really, one of the make up artists?"
"You always have to ruin everything you know that Moegi." he sarcastically pouted.
"Do you have any shame sir." she sighed now fixing his tie. "We've had this couch replaced three times already because of breaks, I'm honestly so surprised how you haven't been fired or even sued."
"Now tell me. Is it my fault I'm just so good looking."
"No it's not. But you flirting with literally every woman in existence doesn't exactly help your situation. Now, go out there and kill it."
"Thanks" he told her leaning in for a peck but was blocked by her hand.
"Your charms don't work on me. Oh and before I forget. You're flight is at 6, please don't do anything stupid."
"Oh so you do worry about me." he snickered but immediately stopped as he felt tie get tighter his neck stiffening.
"No... I worry about my job and without you I don't have one. So take care and don't do anything stupid." she smirked loosening his tie before leaving his office Boruto following.
Stepping onto set Boruto shot his co-anchor a little wink before flashing his signature grin at camera 2 while the director was counting down till they went live.
Being a prominent news anchor came with a lot of perks, but Boruto's favourite was one that his contract didn't provide, it was that his devilishly handsome face would be plastered everywhere, for every woman in Konoha to know his name. That coupled with personal training sessions from the previous lead anchor Jiraya transformed the blond into Konoha's biggest playboy.
For a while now he had been in a bit of a predicament unsure on whether to be elated or disappointed.
His sister was getting married.
Marriage was always a touchy subject for the blonde, but in the end he didn't want to disappoint his sister, he loved her. So he sucked up and decided play a pivotal role in her wedding as one of the groomsmen. After all her soon to be husband was his good friend Inojin.
"That was great everybody. Boruto we'll see you when you get back, safe travels." the director exclaimed as the blonde got up and took his co-anchor's hand dancing with zero coordination in the middle of the studio, people chuckling at the surprisingly common sight.
"I'll see you all when I see you all... And I'll be sure to see you when I get back." he whispered maintaining eye contact with the girl, he gave her a little wink before breaking away and going to his office, a few laughs breaking out on set. Everyone was familiar with his antics.
"Sir, the bags you asked to be picked up from your apartment are here. And the taxi we called you is here as well." Moegi explained.
"Alrighty then, I'll see you and once I'm back, we're getting dinner." he declared slamming the door before his receptionist could refuse a lighthearted laugh escaping her lips. Her boss really was a piece of work.
Getting seated in his first class seat he released a deep breath and before his mind could start racing about the flaws of marriage a kind stewardess brought over a glass of champagne for him.
"Thank you." he told her after she put down the glass, her hand grazing his shoulder while she made her way down the aisle.
Looking behind he smirked when he saw her looking back at him, only inflating his ego. So he did the only logical thing that anyone would do, he pressed the call button.
A smug grin enveloped his features when she came back.
"Yes Mr Uzumaki what can I assist you with?" she asked in a professional manner.
"Well I'm having trouble with my seat belt, it doesn't seem to be adjusting nor locking." he smirked, holding his gaze for a few seconds before hitting her with his signature wink a sheepish smile enveloping her as she leaned over inhaling his intoxicating cologne.
Reaching forward her hand loitered on his thigh before grabbing the belt, pulling it from both ends until she was just above his groin, while adjusting his belt she turned her head to sneak a glance at the blonde but ended up getting caught in those baby blues of his, instinctively she bit her lip to avoid grinning.
"Maybe later you could help me get my tray table up..." he paused, her mouth opening but no words coming out, completely flustered. "Say, isn't there a special club on the plane, you know once were a mile high in the sky." he whispered, heat rushing to her cheeks, her hands shifting to his thighs her slender fingers trailing subtle patterns.
She was ready to risk her career as a professional flight attendant for this dreamy blonde.
Before she could answer a male steward cleared his throat the woman immediately straightening herself, fixing the strands of hair that fell on her face.
He whispered something into her ear, she bowed and then left the blond who was now pouting at the man. "What's your problem?"
"I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience sir, but she's been transferred over to business class, I'll be taking over first class for the remainder of the flight.
Boruto mumbled some indecipherable curse words under his breath before taking a breath. "Do you wanna help me with my tray table?" he sarcastically asked fighting back laughter.
"Do you want to be escorted off the aircraft?" he snapped before walking away leaving the blonde a little perplexed and a little scared.
Sighing, he shut his eyes not wanting to think about the wedding, or anything relating to the holy act that was matrimony.
Sitting in the taxi the blond smirked when he noticed the resort that the families had booked. Coming from such affluence it didn't surprise him, rather he chuckled. Of course his father would go all out for his little princess. Not to mention the Yamanaka's going all out for their only son's wedding.
"Hey" Boruto smirked taking off his shades.
"Hello sir welcome to the resort. Your name?" she smiled back before eyeing the blond, immediately captivated by his looks.
"It's Uzumaki, Boruto Uzumaki." he clarified, in a James Bond fashion a light giggle emerging from the receptionist. "Here for the wedding."
"Yes of course, we've been expecting you. Right this way sir." she smiled getting up and leading the blond to his room, he couldn't help but linger a little on her curves.
"Your party is currently having brunch on our famous beachside restaurant, if you wish to join them."
"I don't know how much time I'll have if you're gonna be in here with me." he winked the receptionist looking to the side as heat crept to her cheeks.
"Sir.." she mumbled. "I'm sorry, please enjoy your stay." she blurted before scurrying out of the door Boruto feeling a little embarrassed at the state of the situation. Shrugging his shoulders he stripped out of his suit wondering why on earth did he not change before his flight.
Sighing he stepped into the bathroom, admiring himself, stroking his own ego before putting on some linen attire and leaving his room. Luckily he had caught up on some sleep during his flight avoiding the disease that was jet lag.
Climbing up the steps the blonde did a little jump on the patio, the sound of his feet hitting the wooden floorboard had every eye on him. "There she is!" he bellowed opening his arms in front of the table looking at HImawari.
"Big brother!" she giggled getting up and hugging the blond.
"Look at you, getting married." he smirked patting her head before his gaze landed on a head of dark hair.
"Hey, have you had some time to think about our talk?" he asked his sister.
"Yes big brother, I love him and I really do want to marry him. Take it easy and have some fun alright." she told him giving her brother a kiss on the cheek. His mind was interrupted as dark eyes and red frames obstructed his vision, his baby blues lingering on her a little too long.
"Sarada Uchiha." he smirked snaking one hand around her back giving her a greeting kiss on the cheek.
"Boruto Uzumaki." she replied avoiding his gaze.
Eyeing her up and down he had to bite his lip to stop himself from drooling. She looked good.
"I need to get back." Himawari said.
"Wait we weren't done talking... And she's gone." he sighed.
"Talking about what?"
"Potential opportunities." he grinned, Sarada scrunching her brows before poking his chest.
"Boruto, it is your sister's and your good friend's wedding. I swear to anything and everything if you ruin this I'll sneak into your bedroom snip off a bit more than the doctors did when you were born."
"Ooh... Kinky are we, well then I guess I'll be expecting you in my room tonight. I can get some nice champagne, or wine, I know you're more of a deep red kind of girl. So what do you say around 9pm." he smirked.
"You're such an idiot I swear. Just don't mess this up alright." she scoffed.
"Come on Sarada it would save us a lot of time if you just accepted your fate and end up in my room tonight." he teased.
Putting a hand around the back of his neck she leaned forward, "Try your luck somewhere else." she whispered, her breath grazing his lips. Turning around and walking away she left the blond in an all too explicit fantasy.
They were on good terms.
Right?
"So Boruto, how're things at the station?" Inojin asked topping off Himawari's mimosa.
"huh... Oh they're good, my assistant is a god send." he chuckled a few laughs coming from the table, but his mind still remained on a certain someone.
"You've met everyone here right, these are the bridesmaids, and Sarada is the maid of honour." Inojin nervously chuckled.
"Sumire..." he greeted the first shaking her hand before looking at the other four bridesmaids.
After meeting with them he turned to the the maid of honour Sarada Uchiha, who was trying to stop herself from punching him right on his perfect nose. There was nothing she wouldn't do to wipe that grin off his face.
Finally meeting with the last bridesmaid he greeted her with a kiss on her knuckles, inciting a giggle. She'd heard countless stories about the blond, and wanted to see if he held up to his name.
"And you already know the guys. Dai, my best man." Inojin said pointing to the groomsmen. "And you've met Shinki before right, I partnered with his company a while back and we've been close friends ever since."
"How could I forget. He's the reason Suna High, was such an issue for us back in high school" he chuckled extending his hand towards the man.
"Those were the times weren't they." Shinki replied before looking over at Sarada for a split second.
"Big brother are you coming to the little party tonight?"
"Party?" the blonde inquired with a cheeky grin.
"Yeah, now that everyone's here and everything's taken care of we wanna let loose. Mom, dad, Jin, his parents and everyone else is gonna be there."
Boruto's toothy smile answered her question, when had he ever turned down an invitation to free drinks and dancing? A party was definitely something he needed to take his mind of marriage.
Tying the knot and the whole facade of love just wasn't his thing.
"Try and behave yourself alright." Sarada interjected.
"I don't think that'll be possible Sarada, you're gonna be there aren't you. You know I can't control myself around you."
Turning her head she needed to compose herself, there's no way she'd ever fall for this again. How did he always manage to push all her buttons. Frustrated she downed her mimosa in one sip.
"Getting started early I like that." he teased matching her.
Flashing him a glare Boruto put his hands up in defence.
"Woah there.. I don't bite, I mean unless you want me to."
"Boruto you dis.." Sarada tried to say but was cut off.
"Okay, how about we calm down." Inojin mediated.
"Big brother, why don't you go meet mom and dad, they're on the beach right now. I know they'll be happy to see you."
"Yeah, yeah. I'll see you all later." he winked before kissing Himawari's head and leaving for the beach.
"Idiot" Sarada grumbled under her breath, a crimson hue gracing her cheeks.
