Work Text:
He woke up to sunshine, now.
For years, he saw the dim light of the sun in the dreary mornings, weakened by the curtains in his room. The light was too bright for him so early in the morning, and he remembers how, as a child, it almost angered him. And left cold by the lack of sunlight in his room, he continued with his many days, hating the sun.
Hidden under the veil of night, he became Blader Aamon, his own domain in his little corner of the Moniyan Empire. He came to love the embrace of night and the comfort it brought to his solemn soul. Away from the pressures and responsibilities of the day, the stress of it all. And through all that, he still hated the sun, whether he knew it or not. The day was unfamiliar to him, hidden away in the castle and dealing with the unending affairs that always came up. It was only during the night when he felt truly alive, so he conquered the night. It, his kingdom, and he, the king.
Then he left the castle to save Gusion, he took a long sea journey to an unknown place and he met Natan. Their first interaction was him trying to kill the time traveler. Fueled by frustration with Valentina and desperation to save Gusion, he agreed to work with Lunox and Belerick and Natan to retrieve the Anima Heart. Natan, that curious little creature in his mind.
And he didn’t realize it, but he learned to love the sun and its bright rays. Because they all melted under the sun together, but Natan still managed to instill optimism in the weary travelers’ souls. Natan glowed in the sunlight like the most delicately cut diamond, precious and mesmerizing. Natan smiled at him, and he could feel his face heat up, as if the sun were shining on his features. Natan held his hand, and he could feel the warmth rise through his arm and spread over his body, as if he were lying in the sun on a gentle weekend day. Natan was the sun to him, the living embodiment. As the sun would, Natan nurtured his heart and gave him life with his light touch and subtle jokes and delightful laughter. He basked in the rays.
So now, he was glad to wake up to sunlight. Glad to wake up to the beautiful face of his gentle time traveler, all his to admire. He woke up before the sun rose so he could simply watch the rays come out. And he loved to see Natan’s first moments awake, slowly but surely, the gears in his head spinning. And that smile he gave the Paxley when he noticed his quiet state warmed his heart just as much as the sunlight, full of adoration and love. Love, from the sun.
Just as he conquered the night, he would learn to conquer the day, starting with the lovely sun. He woke up to sunlight now, and the first thing he did every morning was kiss his gorgeous face and wait for him to wake up and smile at him.
