When Dan woke up, he missed a presence snuggled up on his side. He was confused since his boyfriend Kevin isn't known for waking up early. Dan grabbed his phone and quickly checked the new messages, some Happy Birthday messages from friends and family and also a lot of messages and mentions on Instagram.
He put his phone aside and walked to the kitchen, the smell of fresh coffee and pancakes hit him. When he walked around the corner he saw his boyfriend, flipping.. well trying to flip a pancake. He carefully snuck up on him and put his arms around him, to cuddle into the taller one who twitched a little at the sudden touch.
The taller one put the pan aside so nothing burned and quickly turned in the arms of the blonde one and captured him in a sweet kiss
"Happy Birthday beautiful."
He gave Dan another Kiss.
"I hope I wasn't too loud. I wanted to surprise you with a Birthday Breakfast"
Dan looked over to the table and saw plate full of pancakes, some hot chocolate and a big bouquet of his favorite flowers.
"It's wonderful thank you." Dan gave Kevin one last kiss before sitting down on the table.
Kevin quickly put everything into the sink before seating himself across from Dan. They both ate together and talked about different stuff.
"You know since the weather doesn't look too nice today, I thought we maybe stay at home and watch your favorite movies.. I told the other ones already that we won't be in the studio today," the taller one said.
Staying at home and watching his favorite movies is probably the best birthday Dan could imagine, and getting to do that with the love of his life? Even better.
They quickly put away everything into the dishwasher and got comfortable on the big couch. Kevin cuddled himself into Dan and they started their first movie.
Around two movies later, they did a quick pause. When Dan came back from the kitchen he sat himself back into his spot and wait for Kevin to cuddle back into him but it didn't happen.
"I know you said you don't want anything, but I simply cannot do it so I got you two gifts."
Kevin got out a envelope and a small box.
"Kevin.. you really didn't need to.. with you on my side I don't need anything else." Dan placed a quick peck on Kevin's lips.
"Yes I know but it doesn't feel right.. so open the box at first and then the envelope!"
Dan rolled his eyes with a smile on his lips. He opened the small box and inside was a metallic-chain bracelet with their Anniversary Date engraved.
"It's wonderful... thank you"
Dan kissed Kevin sweet and tenderly.
"Now open the envelope!"
The blonde one opened the envelope and there where already tears building up in his eyes
"You're joking.." Dan looked at Kevin like this was some kind of joke.
"No I am not." Kevin took one of Dan's hands and squeezed it. Dan was currently holding two Plane tickets to Japan. A two weeks vacation in his favorite country with his favorite person. Dan normally wasn't really on the emotional side but with that gift, the tears where just rolling down his cheeks.
"Kevin.. I don't even know what to say.. thank you feels like it's not enough.."
He hugged his boyfriend and kissed him, passionate but sweet.
"I love you so much.. thank you."
"I love you too."
After a while they got themselves back into their original positions on the couch and proceeded to watch more movies with a little break from the delivery guy. While Dan got the pizza, Kevin took the chance to repost their Band Account Birthday Post for Dan.
