Being an only child, Joshua has always felt lonely during his childhood for not having any siblings.
Coming to Korea and meeting with his soulmate, Jeonghan, Joshua had thought that his life was maybe finally fulfilled. He found the one. Jeonghan had been everything he ever wanted in his life. But somehow, the vacancy and the unfulfillment still remained in his heart.
It was hard to describe but Joshua still felt lonely. Like something was missing.
They loved each other and Joshua couldn't have asked for a better life partner. Yet sometimes he couldn't help but feel lonely and empty. His heart ached for an unknown presence in his life, hoping it could curate his feeling of unfulfillment by any means.
Then one day, like a blessing bestowed upon him he suddenly found out that he was pregnant.
At first he couldn't believe it. Not every male could get pregnant at this age. Only a very small portion of the male population were lucky enough to conceive and give birth. Joshua had never thought that he would be lucky enough to be a part of that small portion.
He had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that there was a literal human being growing inside his womb now. He felt so so lucky, so overwhelmed.
That day Joshua cried in happiness for the first time in his life. His husband and his lover, his best friend for life, Jeonghan pulled him in his embrace and let him cry all he wanted, soothing him, cooing at his younger lover for having an emotional outburst after hearing the news of his pregnancy.
Similar to Joshua, Jeonghan was just as ecstatic to find out about the pregnancy, if not more. He was excited to have a new addition to their small family.
Soon after nine months of pregnancy, Joshua gave birth to a healthy baby boy. They named the baby Jungwon.
Jungwon was an adorable baby who resembled both Joshua and Jeonghan a lot. Once again, Joshua couldn't believe he and Jeonghan were really parents.
After the operation was done, the nurse cleaned the baby and wrapped it into a fluffy baby towel before bringing it to Joshua for breastfeeding.
At that moment, holding the baby in his arms for the first time, Joshua cried for the second time. His baby was finally born, he was finally a mother.
The fair skinned baby slept soundly against Joshua's chest, his back rising and falling with every breath. Joshua was so overwhelmed to see the little thing in his arms, so small, so adorable. Joshua could even listen to the baby's rhythmic heartbeat against his own.
Maybe it's the pregnancy hormone or he's just being overdramatic but he couldn't stop crying to see just how beautiful and adorable their baby was. Jeonghan kissed his forehead and then the baby's forehead, pulling Joshua into his arms. Joshua finally felt like his little family was completed with the addition of Jungwon.
Jungwon was growing up so fast. The baby was literally a sunshine, with his big doe eyes crinkling cutely everytime he laughed and his chubby cheeks bouncing ever so slightly when he crawled.
The baby gurgled happily every time Joshua smiled at him or asked him something, like the baby understood everything his papa was saying to him, and he would act like he was trying to give his own answers too. Joshua was just so attached to his baby, his munchkin, his fluffy little goofball.
While Jungwon was growing up healthily, attached to his papa and spending all of his time with Joshua, on the other hand, Jeonghan turned into a jealous lover after the baby started to talk.
Ever since the day Joshua had given birth to Jungwon, Jeonghan pretended to be his other baby, just to get Joshua's attention. He would sit beside Joshua with his arms crossed and pout all day, glaring at their baby for keeping his Joshuji away from him.
God it's been years since they married and Jeonghan hadn't changed at all. He was still the same jealous lover that he used to be back then when they were still in college.
Jeonghan would refuse to leave Joshua's side as the younger fed Jungwon fruits. The elder would sit there and sulk for hours because in his opinion, his precious husband, his Joshuji wasn't giving him enough attention and was always busy with Jungwon.
Joshua would always shake his head in disbelief and just laugh at his lover's weird antics. He couldn't believe his husband was competing with their own kid for his attention.
Jungwon too was a very playful baby. It seemed like the baby knew exactly that he was the reason for his daddy's misery and would laugh at Jeonghan cheekily everytime Jeonghan sulked beside them. Like father, like son. Jungwon might be just a baby but he got that annoying (cute) smugness from his daddy.
Joshua watched with fond gaze as his husband tickled their baby as a sort of punishment for taking all of Joshua's attention and then mocking him. Jungwon giggled uncontrollably, kicking his small feet against his daddy's chest to stop the tickle attack.
“Daddy stop! Don't tickle— Hahahahaha—”
Nonetheless, being the gremlin that he was, Jeonghan continued to tease their poor baby, almost making the baby cry in the process from how hard he was laughing. Joshua had to intervene to save his poor baby from the tickle monster that his husband was. He patted Jungwon's back as a means to sooth the sulky baby.
Jungwon hugged his papa tightly, burying his face in Joshua's neck, pouting and sniffling as he mumbled, “Bad daddy! Daddy meanie! Wonie don't talk to daddy anymore!” The baby said, glaring adorably at Jeonghan.
Instead of apologizing to their baby, Jeonghan only stuck his tongue out to annoy him more and Joshua glared at his childish husband for annoying his baby again.
But Jungwon somehow played along, sticking his tongue out too. Both the father and the son started making silly faces and were now mimicking each other. They were so silly.
Just a few moments ago, Jungwon was crying to Joshua because apparently his meanie daddy had bullied him by tickling him and now he was making grabby hands at Jeonghan, wanting to be with his daddy. Joshua could only shake his head at their silly antics and handed the baby over to Jeonghan's arm who took the baby graciously and started playing with him.
Sometimes, Joshua felt like he had two babies instead of one because of how childish his husband was, always competing with Jungwon for his attention.
On the other hand, day by day, Jungwon was growing up well. He was a literal ball of sunshine. The first time Jungwon walked, Joshua cried happy tears, wondering when did his baby grow up so much.
Jungwon was the best baby ever. He rarely cried and had the best smile in the world (in Joshua's opinion because Jeonghan would like to disagree and say that the best smile in the world belonged to both his Joshuji and their adorable baby together).
Kissing both his husband and his baby goodbye, Joshua watched as they went out to play.
Seeing their little family together and seeing Jeonghan play with their adorable baby, the baby who was the fruit of their love, Joshua finally felt like his life was fulfilled.
He had a perfect husband who loved him to the moon and back, and understood him better than anyone else in the world. He had an adorable little baby who was a literal fluff ball.
Both of them meant the world to Joshua. Seriously, he couldn't have asked for more in his life.
