Content could be the word to describe this.. the feeling of simplicity and being alone together.
Edgar decoded and shared the silence with The Batter the bitter cold of the wind nipping away at their figures. It all felt rushed yet slow Whispers of wind, chilling his skin with its breath, wrapping a suffocating cloak, his fingers turned numb longing for the embrace of warmth as he held close his varnished painting of the hunter close by, seeking for any inch of warmth through the cold winter. He felt the claws of the cold creeping over every inch in his skin's surface, seizing the warmth from his bones until he shivers in its grasp.
“Any specific features you're into..?” Edgar half heartedly whispered.
While the batter remained, calm. Untouched by fears unyielding in the face of adversity and colliding with two, non-identical emotions.
“Why the sudden question?”
While the two were polar opposites The Batter tried, took time to read, to understand and think over a single sentence or paragraph or character, to visualise the interpretation. Through the thick and thin of the cold, the two held for survival and sanity.
“Nevermind.” The Painter shakily breathed out through the cold.
And Ganji never realized up close how Edgar shined under the constellations of the stars, no- on how Edgar outshine the stars. Every drop of snow that landed on the ground made him fall deeper for The Painter. Yet he casted such thoughts away. after all, he had a job to do, he couldn’t help to succumb to his desires. Yet while Edgar focused on the patterns of the chiper.... Ganji remained focused on him.
The seconds pass with the same iron breeze. Even despite the tense air and cold, he had found comfort in the presence of The Painter. Fortunately time was still a concept, and the sirens alarmed both of them that the hunter surrendered.
“I've been waiting to get this over with.” The Painter complained firmly as he shivered.
“I couldn't agree more, Brunettes by the way.” The Batter steadily turned away, striding the other way for the exit gate leaving Edgar all alone with his thoughts.
