Chapter Text
'What about we go to the tunnels beneath the Castle?'
Link blinked surprised at Zelda's question, as they were in a confortable silence for a long time. She was studying old scriptures and he was polishing his sword, the only light in the bedroom coming from her old lantern, it was a quiet evening.
Link was sat down on the floor meanwhile Zelda was sat down on her studying chair, so he came closer to her knees to speak.
'Why?'
'Oh, I've been studying about old legends, and I remembered when my father told me that it was absolutely forbidden to go beneath the Castle, and that it was better for any of us to never go down there.' Her eyes sparkled with curiosity. 'I want to explore down there, maybe there are evidences of history never seen before!'
She came closer to Link, almost nose-to-nose. 'Please, come with me!'
'You know I can never say no to you. When do you want to go?'
'Are you busy tomorrow afternoon?'.
'Well, I'll be busy taking a nerd queen to a haunted cavern, so-' Zelda cut him off, giving him a weak slap, even though she was smiling.
'That's it then, you clown! Tomorrow afternoon! Now, let's get some sleep, we have a lot to see.'

No, he couldn't lose her again.
Please, Gods from Above, don't let it happen again.
Link didn't care about his lost arm and the extraordinary pain, neither about the mummy that have just been awaken or his broken sword. Link just thought about her, how helpless he felt. He lost her when she was inches of distance.
Gods, they just had married.
Enough feeling pity, Link felt the rage roaring in his chest. He would go to heaven and hell, bleed and suffer, but this time, not for Hyrule, not for his sword. But for his queen, his wife. For Zelda.
