Wanda Maximoff:
“There in her glittering prime
The lights refract sequined stars off her silhouette every night
I can show you lies”
Wanda stops Thanos from advancing on T’Challa and floats over to him. Her eyes are glowing red as she says, “You took everything from me.” He scoffs, “I don’t even know who you are.” She tilts her head and gets ready to strike, “You will.” She throws pieces of the fallen Avenger’s Compound at him. He throws them away as they hit. She advances towards him while hitting him with blasts of her power. He tries to swing the sword at Wanda but she dodges it by crouching.
As she is crouching Thanos tries to bring it down on her but she blocks it with her power. He keeps trying harder and harder. Wanda uses the strength he is trying to use to lift the sword so it knocks him back and flies out of his hands. She uses her powers to lift him into the air and starts to rip him apart. Thanos cries out. She continues and his armor is falling apart before he says, “Rain Fire.” She keeps the magic up as he continues after a second, “Just do it.”
Lasers start to fire down onto the battlefield, one knocks Wanda over and allows Thanos to escape. She sees Peter lying on the ground and floats over. Right before she lands Carol takes the gauntlet from Peter who says, “I don’t know how you're gonna get through all that.” As Wanda lands she says, “Don’t worry,” Okoye finishes her sentence, “she's got help.” Pepper, Hope, Valkyrie, Mantis, Gamora, Shuri, and Nebula all gather around them.
While the others are cleaning a path on the ground Wanda and Valkyrie take to the sky to subdue the flying creatures. Wanda uses her powers to freeze one with its mouth open while Valkyrie drags her sword through the other. As they continue to hold off the flying creatures Wanda sees something hit the van they are trying to get Carol to. As she is distracted she gets hit by the tail of a creature and falls to the ground.
When she finally goes to fly back up the creatures turn to ash. She looks around, thinking Thanos won but the only things disappearing are his army. As she gets to where Thanos is she sees that Tony has the stones and he looks like he is fading fast. Pepper is with him and as the light in his reactor goes out she kneels. They won, but at what cost?
During Tony’s funeral Clint confirms that Natasha is gone. They sit next to each other. Eventually, Clint says, “ You know, I wish there was a way that I could let her know. That we won. We did it.” Wanda tears up and says, “She knows. They both do.” Clint wraps an arm around her shoulder and she wraps one around his waist. She lays her head on his shoulder and she cries. She cries for Pietro, for Vision, for Natasha, for Tony, and most of all the world that now has to go on without them.
“'Cause I'm a real tough kid, I can handle my shit
They said, "Babe, you gotta fake it 'til you make it" and I did
Lights, camera, bitch smile, even when you wanna die
He said he'd love me all his life
But that life was too short
Breaking down, I hit the floor
All the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was chanting, "More"
I was grinning like I'm winning, I was hitting my marks
'Cause I can do it with a broken heart”
Franklin “Foggy” Nelson and Karen Page:
“I can hold my breath
I've been doing it since he left
I keep finding his things in drawers
Crucial evidence, I didn't imagine the whole thing
I'm sure I can pass this test”
Foggy sighs as he goes over the opening statement again. Karen is reading over the closing statement on the opposite end of the couch. She sighs, “I think it’s good, but I’m not a lawyer Foggy.” Foggy nods, “Okay, um, put it on my pile and I’ll read it next. You didn’t see anything that discredits our argument?” Karen smiles knowing she can spot those due to her work at the Bulletin, “No, everything lines up perfectly Foggy. You are going to do great in court.” Foggy shakes his head, “I hope so. I just wish my movement for postponement was accepted. I know Matt could pull this together.” Karen puts her hand on his shoulder, “Look, I miss Matt too. I know how hard it is to come into this office and know he isn’t coming. But you are an amazing lawyer. You can do this case alone, how many cases did Matt flake on that you ended up winning?”
Foggy stands and looks at her, “That’s different Karen. I at least knew Matt was alive during those cases.” Karen stands and hugs Foggy, “I know it’s different, but I also know that you can do this.” They go back to reviewing the case until late into the evening. When they walk out he turns to her and says, “Are you able to make it to the courthouse tomorrow?” She responds, “Of course Foggy, I’ll be there.” He nods and they walk their separate ways.
The next day at the courthouse Foggy is standing in front of the jury giving his opening statement, “And in the state of New York, I'll remind you that my client is not required to prove that he was justified in his actions. Instead, it's up to the prosecution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was not justified in defending his life, and they will come nowhere close to meeting this burden. At the end of this case, the only verdict that you can render will be not guilty.”
Karen gives him a thumbs-up as he walks back to the desk where they are set up and sits. As the court date goes on Karen gets a text from Ellison asking her to come in. She slides a piece of paper over to Foggy after writing, “Ellison just asked me to come in, how much longer is this session going to take.” Foggy jots down, “We’ll have a recess in about ten minutes you can head out then. I can handle it from here.” She shakes her head, writing, “No Foggy, I want to be here to support you. I can wait until the end of the day.” Foggy turns and smiles at her before writing, “Just go Karen, I’ll be fine.” She nods.
When she gets to the Bulletin, Ellison is waiting outside for her, he starts, “ I got a lead on one of the businesses Fisk was working with,” She smiles as he continues, “I know you are going through a lot, but I also know you would want to be the first to know.” She looks into his eyes, “So, do you have a location for me or is it more of a paper trail?”
“'Cause I'm a real tough kid, I can handle my shit
They said, "Babe, you gotta fake it 'til you make it" and I did
Lights, camera, bitch smile, in stilettos for miles
He said he'd love me for all time
But that time was quite short
Breaking down, I hit the floor
All the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was chanting, "More"
I was grinning like I'm winning, I was hitting my marks
'Cause I can do it with a broken heart”
Yelena Belova:
“I'm so depressed, I act like it's my birthday every day
I'm so obsessed with him but he avoids me like the plague
I cry a lot but I am so productive, it's an art
You know you're good when you can even do it
With a broken heart”
Yelena checks her email to find her newest target’s profile:
Clinton Francis Barton
Age: 53
Alias: Hawkeye
Other notes: Specially trained former Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.; Former Avenger; Skilled Archer.
She looks him up online and sees a lot of photos of him and Natasha together. She finds out that he was with her when she died. He has never said how she died, he never explained what happened on Vormir. As she looks further into him she finds out that he was supposed to kill Natasha right before she was recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D..
She tracks his phone and sees that he is in New York right now. She doesn’t hesitate to accept the mission ready to kill the man she believes killed her sister. When she reaches New York she watches him. He is with a girl whose name she finds out is Kate Bishop, seemingly trying to stop the people trying to kill her thinking she is Ronin. She has seen videos of Ronin before, and there is no way that girl is the one who committed those murders, but she thinks she knows who did.
After failing to kill Barton on the rooftop she stops by Kate’s house. She tries to tell Kate that Clint is not a good person, but she won’t listen. Kate is convinced that Clint is just trying to help her, Yelena tells her that he is only cleaning up his own mess but she refuses to believe that. As she is leaving she tells Kate to stay out of her way because she doesn’t want to hurt her.
After sending Kate the video of her mother talking to Fisk and proof that her mother hired her to kill Clint she realizes that he will be at the Christmas party. She plans how she is going to kill Barton with the least amount of witnesses.
During the party, after she fights Kate and scales down the building, she is sitting in a window of an empty building trying to come up with a new plan. She is teary-eyed but is trying to hold back the tears. The back and forth with Kate during the fight reminded her of Natasha. She just wants justice for her sister.
Suddenly she sees the tree fall and as Clint slides out she starts walking over ready to avenge Natasha.
“You know you're good when you can even do it
With a broken heart
You know you're good, I'm good
'Cause I'm miserable
And nobody even knows
Try and come for my job”
