When Changkyun messaged Gavin to tell him about his short visit to the Philippines, the latter informed his husband right away.
Mavy honestly didn’t mind. He knew Gavin and Changkyun’s history. Changkyun is to Gavin what Seungkwan is to him. Sila yung mga ex na minahal ng totoo, ng walang pag-aalinlangan, pero kinailangan pakawalan kasi mundo na ang gumawa ng paraan.
Today was their scheduled meet up with Changkyun. 6 PM yung napagkasunduan nilang oras, but the two decided to be there early, and arrived at around 5:30 PM. Thankfully, they didn't need to wait for long dahil dumating na rin naman si Changkyun by 5:45.
“Hey, guys. Sorry, did I make you wait?” Changkyun asked.
Gavin smiled, “No. Sakto lang. Mga 5:30 kami nakarating ni Mav dito.”
Mavy looked at his husband’s ex before smiling genuinely na sinagot rin naman ng ngiti ni Changkyun.
“How are you?” agad na tanong ni Changkyun pagkaupong-pagkaupo niya. “Let’s order pala muna.”
The guy called in the waiter and the three of them placed their orders. Nang makaalis na ang waiter, muling nagtanong si Changkyun.
“So how are you?”
“We’re good. Medyo na-bi-busy sa trabaho, but overall we’re doing just fine. Ikaw? Kumusta ka?” balik na tanong ni Gavin.
“I’m good too. Last stop ko ‘tong Pinas,” Changkyun chuckled. “Decided to take a month off tapos nag-ikot ako sa Southeast Asia. Pagbalik ko ng US, trabaho na naman bubungad,” he chuckled.
Mavy didn’t know what to say, despite being close when Changkyun was still in Gavin’s life.
“Does he…” Mavy whispered to Gavin.
“Does he what?” Gavin asked.
Changkyun smiled, “Yes, Mavy. I know you guys are married. That’s one of the first things Gav told me when I messaged him.”
“Ah… okay,” Mavy awkwardly answered, to which Changkyun responded with a laugh.
“Come on. Why are you so awkward around me?” he asked. “Akala mo naman hindi tayo nagkwentuhan at nag-bonding noon. Also, I just really want to hangout and catch up with you, guys, bago ako bumalik ng US.”
“Sensya ka na ah? Medyo di ko kasi alam anong sasabihin,” Mavy replied, touching his nape in attempt to lessen the awkwardness.
“Let’s start with how and when did you finally realize your feelings for Gavin,” Changkyun said.
Both Mavy and Gavin laughed, trying to mask their embarrassment. They remembered na ganito rin yung unang naging tanong ni Seungkwan sa kanila noong nakipagkita ito sa kanilang dalawa.
Bagama’t nahihiya, Mavy still enthusiastically filled Changkyun in with details–from his unexpected and informal proposal to their oh moments, down to how they are right now.
The three of them talked and talked, desperately trying to catch up over the lost times. They asked about each other's life over the past few years and the places they’ve been to. Ultimo mga chismis na nasagap nila tungkol sa mga ka-batchmates nila noong college napagusapan nila.
“I’m glad you guys ended up together,” Changkyun suddenly blurted.

Mavy and Gavin looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
“Gav, you knew how much I loved you, right?”
Gavin nodded, “Oo. Alam na alam ko.”
“And I actually thought we’ll end up together.”
“But?” Mavy asked. He knows there will always be a but.
“But you guys will always be each other’s palagi,” Changkyun answered with a smile.
The two looked at him confused, which made him laugh. He can’t believe how clueless these two still are.
“There’s just something about you two that screams end game,” he smiled. “Some people have to go through lengths and multiple hardships bago magkatuluyan. Like the universe is testing them first if deserve ba talaga nila magkatuluyan. But with you two, it feels like the universe has already made a decision even before you were born.”
Gavin smiled, finally understanding what Changkyun was talking about.
“Maybe the universe was already done testing us; maybe this is now our last life and we have finally proved to the universe why we are meant to be together.”
“Maybe,” Changkyun’s lips curled into a small smile.
“I don’t know anything about the universe,” Mavy suddenly said. “I really don’t believe din na it’s the universe that helped us be together. Kahit yun parati sinasabi ng mga tao. I’d like to believe that we are together kasi pinipili namin yung isa’t isa sa lahat ng panahon, sa lahat ng bagay, sa lahat ng circumstances na ibato ng buhay samin.”
“Exactly why I believe you are each other’s palagi,” Changkyun replied.
“P’wede pa natin palitan call sign nating ng pal para palagi,” Mavy suggested, causing Gavin to furrow his brows and Changkyun to burst into laughter.
“Alam mo ikaw…” Gavin said, “Ang corny corny mo.”
“Mahal mo naman ako,” saad ni Mavy nang may pagyayabang sa boses.
Gavin rolled his eyes but eventually smiled, signifying his agreement to what Mavy said.
Watching the couple before him, Changkyun couldn't help but be happy for them, especially for Gavin. There were moments when he considered returning to Gavin, reaching out, and expressing his willingness to go back to the Philippines if it meant being his boyfriend again. But he’s glad that he endured. He’s happy that he continued with his plan and lived his life.
“By the way,” Gavin suddenly spoke. “I heard you’re already engaged?”
Changkyun smiled, “I am.”
“Huy! Congratulations,” pagbati ni Mavy.
“Thank you.”
“So sino ang ginayuma mo?”
Changkyun laughed at Gavin’s question, “His name’s Jooheon. Eto siya,” he said while showing an image of his fiance.
“You guys look happy,” Gavin said, smiling.
“We are,” nakangiti ring sagot ni Changkyun. “We’ll get married next month. I hope you guys can come.”
“Basta sagot mo pamasahe namin,” Mavy said as Changkyun chortled.
“Sure. Balitaan ko kayo.”
After that they spent some more time catching up before finally saying goodbye.
“It was really nice seeing you guys again,” ani Changkyun.
Gavin beamed, “Likewise. I missed you, Kyun.”
Changkyun looked at Mavy.
“Di ako seloso,” Mavy confidently said. “Pano magseselos, eh namamatay ‘to pag hindi na-kiss.”
“Wow!” Gavin reacted, “Ako pa talaga ah? Gusto mo ipabasa ko yung texts mo kahapon.”
“Eto hirap talaga biruin eh no? Ganto yan noon?”
“Oo, ganyan yan. Pikunin,” Changkyun chimed the banter.
“Ah so pagtutulungan niyo ako ngayon?”
The two just laughed, making Gavin pout. When the two continued laughing, Gavin just shook his head and joined in. And when they got down from the high of their emotions, Changkyun spoke.
“I missed you too, Gav,” he said, opening his arms for an embrace.
Gavin approached him, returning the embrace.
“See you guys, soon?” Changkyun asked.
“See you, Kyun!” Mavy answered, tapping Changkyun’s shoulder. But the smaller had a different plan when he pulled Mavy into an embrace. “Thank you, Mav. For allowing me to love Gavin, even just for a while. Please be happy with him.”
Despite being surprised with the gesture, Mavy also returned Changkyun’s embrace. “We will,” he said. “We will be happy. And I hope you and Jooheon will be happy too.”
Changkyun smiled, enough to answer Mavy. They will. He knew he and Jooheon will be happy too, just like Mavy and Gavin.
