I Have Loved You for 800 Years, I'll Love You for 1000 More

Summary:

When Mu Qing finds Jian Lan hiding from Feng Xin in one of his temples he is confronted with the fact of who the alpha has actually been in love with for over 800 years.

Notes:

This is a self-indulgent fic born out of my recent FengQing brain rot. You'll never be able to convince me that there wasn't more going on between these two.

Work Text:

Heartbreak was not unfamiliar to Mu Qing. Whenever another person turned their back on him his secretly fragile heart would crack a little more. When his mother died it had nearly broken in half, but as he watched the alpha he loved depart the newly ruined Heavenly Capital to chase after Jian Lan and Cuo Cuo, Mu Qing was certain that every single being in all of the realms had heard his heart shatter into countless pieces that would almost certainly never be put back together.

Part of him knew that one of Feng Xin’s reasons for following was to take responsibility for the fetus spirit, but he couldn’t help but notice the fondness that had filled the God of the Southeast’s gaze when he’d lain eyes on the ghost woman. Mu Qing knew that Feng Xin would never have that emotion for him. Why would he? Never in the over 800 years they had known each other, even after the revelations at Mt. Tonglu, had the alpha shown any type of interest or feelings towards the omega other than annoyance or loathing. Why would he feel love for someone like Mu Qing when he already had a family that didn’t come with his baggage? To Feng Xin, he was simply the Martial God of the Southwest, a thorn in his side for over 800 years, nothing more, nothing less.

To tear himself away from grief the omega threw himself into aiding the reconstruction of the the Heavenly Capital. He and his deputies were tasked with paperwork along with the Palace of Ling Wen since he was one of the more efficient martial gods. It kept him busy enough during the day to keep him from wallowing in self-loathing and tired him out enough to fall into dreamless sleep at night.

Sometimes while he was walking through the tents he would spot a flash of familiar armor or brown hair while other times he would hear rumors about Nan Yang tearing the mortal world apart looking for his lost family. Since Mu Qing had always been the brains of their operation he knew exactly where Jian Lan would have gone to escape Feng Xin.

She was no doubt hiding in one of Mu Qing’s temples. And to no surprise, one night when he had been listening to prayers there was one from a favored temple about a young woman and newborn child seeking shelter. The priest was asking for his protection and guidance for the young woman as well as a blessing of health and longevity for the child who had no father or husband to care for them.

Peering into the priest’s mind he saw a vision of the woman and child just to be sure, and just as he had suspected the image he saw was none other than Jian Lan and her abomination of a child. So, the next night when no one was watching he slipped down to the mortal world to meet with the ghost woman.

When Mu Wing slipped into the back room where the pair were staying he was disgusted to see the would-be mother bouncing the little wrath on her knee, murmuring sweet nothings to it as if it was a proper baby.

“Is that thing still trying to devour everything it lays its eyes on?” He asked not disguising his voice or appearance since they were alone.

Jian Lan startled, whipping around to see him, “What are you doing here?”

“This is my temple. I have every right to be here,” he snarked. “Why you’re hiding here to get away from Feng Xin when all he wants to do is take care of you?”

She looked upset at his words for several moments before answering, “Because he doesn’t actually want us. You know him. He feels obligated to take care of Cuo Cuo because he’s the father even though neither of us has needed him for the last 800 years. Neither of us eats humans, and we don’t need to be looked after. I just want to take care of my baby.”

Instead of acknowledging the smaller spirit as a baby Mu Qing took a good long look at the other omega. She was slight with curves, a large bosom, flowing ebony hair, and a feminine beauty that had been unmatched back in Xianle. It was no wonder Feng Xin had fallen for her. She was the very antithesis of Mu Qing.

“He loves you, you know. That’s why he’s trying so hard to find you, not just so he can take responsibility,” he told her. The look on the alpha’s face when her identity had been revealed had been filled with shocked happiness. Mu Qing wished he could draw out that kind of reaction.

Mirthful laughter filled the air as she met his eye, “I’m not the one he loves, Xuan Zhen. Though I suppose I can call you by your real name, after everything that’s happened. Do you know who he talked about the most during our time together?”

And there was the confirmation to one of his theories of their time growing up together, “I’m not surprised. Danxia is perfect in every way except his cooking.”

More laughter, “No, it wasn’t His Highness. It was you. The only thing he felt for me was camaraderie as a former inhabitant of Xianle.

“He always pretended it was you when we fucked. He wanted it to be his Mu Qing, not me. He even called out your name when he came. I was never the one he wanted.”

“That’s impossible. He would never care for someone he only saw as a traitor and servant. I am nothing more than the dirt on his boots.”

“That’s because you don’t see the way he looks at you when your back is turned. Even when I was a noble, and there was talk of an engagement between His Highness and me, I noticed how he would always pay more attention to you than His Highness. He would have this stupid smile on his face whenever he looked at you. When he turned his attention to me I thought he had been cursed, but in reality, he was just looking for an outlet for all of the emotions he had kept pent up. He truly does love you, Mu Qing.

“I’m genuinely surprised the pair of you aren’t together. Neither of you were exactly subtle when we were teenagers. And from what I’ve heard of the Martial Gods of the South, many of your believers have similar opinions. Maybe back in Xianle, it wasn’t right for a servant to love a noble, but nothing is stopping you at this point besides pride.”

It was too good to be true. The man he loved wanting him in return after everything they had been through? He wanted to scream. He wanted to cry. No one had ever actually wanted him in that way. For it to be Feng Xin, his Feng Xin, that would be a miracle in and of itself. It just wasn’t possible. He wasn’t allowed to have more than he already had.

“Why can’t you let your heart have what it wants?” She asked him, clearly reading the conflicted emotions on his face.

“It doesn’t matter what I want because he doesn’t want me. Even if he did, I don’t deserve his love.”

“Why not?”

Both god and ghost turned to see Feng Xin standing in the doorway, confused anger marring his handsome face. “Why don’t you deserve my love when I give it to you freely, willingly?”

This time Mu Qing did start to cry, tired of having kept those pesky emotions to himself long enough, “Because all I’ve ever done is hurt or abandon you. I don’t even understand why you saved me in Mt. Tonglu. I was prepared to sacrifice myself to keep the rest of you safe.”

Feng Xin looked exasperated as if he was explaining something to a child for the thousandth time. As if his love for Mu Qing was the most common information in the world. Had he really been so blind all along?

“I saved you because I couldn’t stand to watch the man I love die when I could do something to keep him alive,” the God of the Southeast responded, moving to stand directly in front of Mu Qing. Callused hands cradling his face, thumbs gently brushing away tears. “I know we’ve said and done things that we can’t take back, but I need you to believe me when I say that you, Mu Qing, are the only thing I have ever wanted for myself. The only reason I ascended was to ensure I could stay by your side for the rest of eternity.”

More tears began to fall as Mu Qing reached up to cover the hands on his face, “You’re not supposed to love the ‘Conniving Servant God.’ You’re supposed to find a proper omega that you don’t fight with all the time, destroying entire buildings in the process. You’re supposed to fall in love with someone like Danxia or Jian Lan, not me!

Feng Xin pulled him into a crushing hug, murmuring into his hair, “I don’t care what I’m supposed to do. If I had done what I was supposed to I wouldn’t have used the money for His Majesty’s medicine to see a prostitute. If I had done what I was supposed to I wouldn’t have left Xie Lian on his own. If I had done what I was supposed to I never would fallen in love with the most infuriating, most annoying, most beautiful, most kind, and most amazing man I have ever met. Mu Qing, I love you more than anything in the three realms.”

Mu Qing choked on a sob as he buried his face into Feng Xin’s neck, taking in the scents of sandalwood and fir that had been a constant presence in his life for over 800 years, “Then why did it take you so long to tell me? Why let me think that you hated me all this time?”

The alpha chuckled, “Why does anyone keep their feelings a secret? I had done so much to just stay by your side; it wouldn’t have been right of me to try and push my love onto you after all the cruel things I’d said and done.”

“So you’re both idiots.”

Both men turned to look at the two ghosts they had forgotten were in the room. Mu Qing went red knowing that someone other than Xie Lian and Feng Xin had witnessed him lose his composure. Very seldom did he allow himself to feel so deeply for fear of embarrassment, and now he had done it twice in less than a year. He was going soft.

“Don’t worry,” Jian Lan smirked, “I won’t let anyone know about just how stupid the two of you are. Wouldn’t be good for worshipers to lose faith in their gods just when they decided to get their shit together.”

Mu Qing squinted. “And what do you want in return for not saying anything?”

This time she gave a softer smile. “For the two of you to not hold back from each other anymore. You’ve spent long enough apart that it’s only right that you spend the rest of eternity making each other happy.”

This time the other omega smiled back. “I think that’s a fair compromise.”

Jian Lan nodded. “Now that that’s taken care of I think it’s best for Cuo Cuo and I to leave.”

“Where will you go?”

Despite everything that had just been said, Mu Qing still felt a twinge of jealousy seeing Feng Xin care for the well-being of someone who had been trying to escape him for so long.

“Who knows? For now, I think we’ll just wander around until Ghost City opens up again. But I promise to keep Cuo Cuo out of trouble. Neither of you should have any reason to seek us out ever again.”

That seemed to pacify the alpha. With nods from both gods, the mother and son left Mu Qing’s temple.

Turning back towards each other Feng Xin gave him the softest smile. “What would you like to do next, General?”

Mu Qing chuckled, “I think I’d like to go home.”

“And where is that?”

“Wherever I can be with you.”

“How about my palace?” Feng Xin asked hopefully. “We could make up for some lost time?”

Taking his alpha’s hand Mu Qing led them back to the heavens, straight to the Palace of Nan Yang. The deputies that were lingering around the front entrance were startled at their appearance, mouths dropping at the sight of their general holding hands with his sworn enemy. Having so many judgmental eyes on him was nothing new to Mu Qing, but these eyes were ones that Feng Xin trusted with his life and the lives of his believers. He didn’t want them to hate him anymore.

As if having read his mind, Feng Xin gave his deputies a harsh look, “From now on there will be no fighting between the Palaces of Nan Yang and Xuan Zhen. It won’t do for people to see fighting between my mate and I. I want you to spread the word around to the rest of the deputies so they know too. Am I understood?”

A chorus of ‘yes’ filled the air as Feng Xin led him into the palace. As they passed through hallway after hallway Mu Qing couldn’t help but imagine that everything leading up to that moment had been a dream. He was just waiting for the moment when he would wake up.

When they reached the other man’s bedroom Mu Qing hesitated as Feng Xin pushed open the door. “Are you sure that you really want this? Want me?”

Feng Xin took the hand he wasn’t holding and guided it up to his chest so Mu Qing could feel his heartbeat. “This beats for you and only you. I want nothing more in this life than to stand by your side for all eternity. If you’re still not sure then let me spend every day for the rest of eternity proving just how much you mean to me.”

“Then prove it to me now; knot me, claim me, and make it so that I’ll never want another alpha so long as either of us live.”

Feng Xin growled, pulling the smaller man into his room, slamming the door behind them, “You’re mine. I’m going to ruin you in all the best ways.”

Mu Qing moaned, feeling those words reverberate down to his aching cunt. When Feng Xin had first suggested they make up for lost time he’d gotten wetter and wetter the closer they’d gotten to the bedroom. And with the promise of being ruined, he’d nearly cum on the spot.

Nuzzling into the alpha’s neck he couldn’t resist nipping at the exposed skin above his collar, “Is that a threat, General?”

It was Feng Xin’s turn to moan, manhandling Mu Qing over to the bed, “No, it’s a promise. You’re not going to be able to walk by the time I’m done fucking that pretty pussy of yours.”

The omega snorted, “How do you know it’s pretty when you’ve never seen it before?”

This time the other god blushed a deep scarlet, “Well…I mean…we did grow up together. And the hot springs in the Upper Court are open to all genders. So I may have seen it once or twice.”

That didn’t make sense to Mu Qing. When they were growing up alphas and omegas had separate bathing areas at the temple. Plus he always made sure to go to the hot springs when no one else was there. Even when they had been in the middle of war he had made sure to bathe with Xie Lian far away from the prying eyes of alphas, including Feng Xin. That was unless…

“Feng Xin, have you been peeping at me when I’m bathing?”

Feng Xin looked like he wanted to run away with his tale between his legs, but Mu Qing was not going to let that happen. He was too giddy with this new piece of information. Who knows what else his lover had gotten up to over the years just to get a look at him?

“It’s okay if you did,” he said honestly, starting to undo all the fastenings on his outer robe from where he was reclined on the bed. “It’s only fair for all those poems I wrote about Ju Yang.”

The other god’s eyes had been tracking every little movement starting with the removal of his guan up until that last sentence. His eyes flicked up to Mu Qing’s with barely concealed frustration. While Mu Qing hadn’t started the rumor about Feng Xin’s massive dick that didn’t mean that he hadn’t fueled the flames by writing quite a few poems extrapolating on just how big said dick was. A dick that he was very eager to get inside of him already.

“I knew you had something to do with those stupid poems, dammit Mu Qing. Why the fuck would you do that?”

Of course, his idiot would fixate on that with a nearly naked omega in the middle of his bed. “Would you like to talk about the poems I wrote about your dick or would you like to use said dick and put it inside me already?”

Finally reminded about what they were in the middle of Feng Xin got to work ridding himself of armor and clothes until he was standing naked before Mu Qing who had started salivating over the enormous, hard cock that was nearly 10 cun in length and 3 wide. He wasn’t entirely sure just how all of that was going to fit inside of him, but he was more than happy to figure it out.

“See something you like?”

Mu Qing could only nod, scrambling to get the last of his own clothes off. Feng Xin chuckled at his eagerness, but who wouldn’t be when presented with a cock like that after over 800 years of celibacy.

Once fully nude Mu Qing rolled over to his front, pushing up into presentation for his alpha. He heard Feng Xin groan followed by footsteps. When he felt the alpha’s heat just behind him the smaller man tensed in anticipation only to be stunned as he was flipped around to his back with Feng Xin kneeling on the bed between his spread legs.

“As much as I can’t wait to have you from behind later I want to see your face the first time I knot you, Qing-er. But I’m only going to do that after I’ve properly prepped you.”

“Prepped me?”

Feng Xin smirked as a long, callused finger pushed into his sopping cunt with the lewdest sound he’d ever heard. Two long legs immediately wrapped around the archer’s waist, rolling his hips down onto the questing digit to chase the most amazing feeling he had ever experienced. Their mouths met in another dance just adding another layer to the experience. Screw ascending, sex was better, and he hadn’t even taken a cock yet.

Feeling how wet he was Feng Xin added not one but two fingers forcing a moan out of Mu Qing. The omega could feel something building low in his belly as those fingers explored his most sensitive parts. He never wanted Feng Xin to stop at the same time knowing that something even better was waiting for him when those fingers were done.

He could feel himself tightening, and the other god must have too because he pulled back just enough to murmur, “Come for me, baobei.”

The fingers crooked at just the right angle and Mu Qing was screaming as the coil in his belly snapped. His whole body lit up with energy as a rush slick left his hole. All the while Feng Xin continued to pump his fingers in and out until the last spasm subsided.

Feng Xin chuckled as he withdrew his hand, “How was your first orgasm?”

Mu Qing felt too good to come up with a scathing remark, so he responded with, “It was fine but I’m still waiting for that knot I was promised.”

“I should have realized that it would take more than just a single orgasm to shut up that smart mouth of yours.”

The omega laughed. “I think you like my smart mouth. You’d be bored if we weren’t  constantly fighting.”

A serious look came over Feng Xin’s face. “I’m sorry for that. I never wanted us to fight all the time. You just frustrate me sometimes, and that combined with my being angry about how much of a coward I was about my feelings things just spiraled out of control. I love sparring with you, but I never wanted to fight with you.”

Mu Qing leaned up to kiss his alpha. “I’m sorry too. I thought that fighting was the only way to keep you in my life. So, I guess Jian Lan was right; we’re both idiots.”

“Yeah, I guess she was right.”

“Now,” the smaller man decided it was time for them to get back on track, “enough about another omega. I want that knot already.”

Feng Xin growled again. Reaching down between them he lined up his enormous erection with Mu Qing’s entrance and began to push in slowly. Just the head alone was a lot for the virgin, but he wanted to take the entire thing, feel them locked together with the alpha’s fat knot.

Remembering something he’d read in passing Mu Qing relaxed his muscles to make the intrusion easier despite his body wanting to do the opposite. It was slow going at first, but bit by bit the massive length was sheathed inside of him until their pelvises were flush.

Having his cunt stuffed full with Feng Xin’s cock was perhaps the most amazing feeling he had ever experienced. It was the closest he’d ever been to someone physically as well as emotionally. Not to mention the delicious friction he experienced with each little movement of their bodies.

“Fuck, Mu Qing. How are you so tight?” Feng Xin panted, trying to keep himself still so they could both adjust to the feeling.

Mu Qing snorted, shifting his hips experimentally. “I think you’re just stupidly well-endowed. Were you always this big or did those stories alter your appearance?”

The other god moaned.

“I-fuck-I was big before, but the-the prayer made it bigger, much bigger.” Mu Qing clamped down just to see what would happen. “FUCK!”

The new stimulation made Feng Xin’s hips rock into his in a way that made his cock brush against Mu Qing’s cervix. “Gods, mo-move. Need you to move, NOW!”

No further prodding was necessary as they both began to move their hips in tandem, trying to find the right momentum for both of them. At one point the archer swiveled his hips in just a way as to send licks of fire up Mu Qing’s spine. The loud whimper that followed led to more abuse of that same spot.

The intensity made his legs drop back down to the bed where the alpha managed to guide him so that both feet were planted on the bed giving a new angle for their thrusting that was somehow more intense than before.

With the new angle, there was a stream of slick and precum leaking from Mu Qing’s hole onto the bed below them that should have been disgusting, but just added to the eroticism of the situation. It just went to show just how good the alpha was making him feel.

Feng Xin managed to close the distance between them and latch onto a pert nipple and suck. That forced another moan followed by a snarky remark, “You’re not going to get anything from those.”

He let go with a wet pop. “Not yet, but as soon as I breed you I’m sure they’ll swell up nice and fat for me to enjoy.”

The idea of being bred was perhaps the most appealing to Mu Qing. He had dreamed of being a mother time and time again, but it wasn’t an idea he’d put any stock into until that very moment. If Feng Xin didn’t succeed in breeding him the first time then they would just have to try over and over until it took.

“You just got tighter, Qing’er. Does the idea of being bred excite you that much?”

A nod followed by a moan.

“All I have to do is think about getting you pregnant and it’ll happen as soon as I cum in this sweet little cunt. Is that what you want, baobei? You wanna be a mommy? You wanna make me a daddy?”

Each question was punctuated with a deep thrust that was a little harder to pull out thanks to the knot forming at the base of Feng Xin’s cock. Soon they would be locked together.

“Please.” Mu Qing begged.

“Please what, Qing’er? You need to tell me what you want.”

“Please breed me! Wanna carry your pups!”

“Good” thrust “Boy” thrust “Qing’er.”

“Please, alpha, want your knot.”

The speed of his thrusts was slowing down so to compensate each was harder than the last.

“How many do you want, baobei? Two, three? Just tell me and I’ll give them to you. Come on, Qing’er we’re almost there, be a good boy for me.”

His mind lost to pleasure the only thing Mu Qing could do was respond with the first number that came to mind as a soul-shattering orgasm washed over him. “Two!”

With the answer he was looking for Feng Xin thrust in once more as his knot locked inside the omega while his fangs found their way to the the mating glad on his neck. The alpha didn’t hesitate to pierce the skin, tying them together irreversibly for the rest of their lives.

There were no words to describe just how good Mu Qing felt as he basked in the bliss of being knotted for the first time. Coupled with the new bond it was as if he had ascended thrice over. And that was only the beginning of their sex life.

Somewhere in the haze Feng Xin had maneuvered them so that he was lying on the bed with Mu Qing perched on his front, legs splayed out on either side of the alpha’s hips. It wasn’t the most comfortable position, but it was good enough until the knot went down and they could readjust.

They lay there in silence with Feng Xin’s fingers training through his unbound hair as the omega listened to the steady heartbeat beneath him until the knot loosened up just enough to slip out.

It was only as the excessive amounts of cum began to pour out of his hole that Mu Qing broke the comfortable atmosphere. “I image we’ll be expecting little ones sooner rather than later based on how much of your cum is leaking out of me.”

Feng Xin wrinkled his nose at that. “Did you really have to say it that way?”

“How else would you want me to say it?”

A scoff. “You didn’t have the mention that second part. It’s not like you were upset by how my cum got there.”

Mu Qing just rolled his eyes, but didn’t refute the statement as he stood before making his way to the bathing chamber off one side of the room. The other god was quick to follow, slipping into the bathtub behind Mu Qing as it finished filling up.

He had just started dabbing at the fresh mating mark on the omega’s neck as he finally spoke again. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think it would be so messy.”

“Your cum or the bite mark?” He snarked.

“Both. I was a little out of it in the moment.”

“You don’t need to apologize. I was only mostly joking. I don’t mind the mess so long as you’re the one causing it.”

That earned him a dopey smile. One that he thought would never be directed his way. Everything that had occurred in the past few shichen was more than Mu Qing could have ever hoped for. And if Feng Xin’s boast about being a fertility god was to be believed then he was going to have even more to be grateful for soon.

“Thank you.” Mu Qing turned his head to look at the man behind him.

“What for?”

“For everything, but most of all for loving me. And I’m sorry for all the hell I’ve put you through over the last 800 years.”

“There’s no need for thank you’s or sorries between us. Not anymore.”

“Then how about an I love you.”

“Now that’s something I’ll never get tired of hearing from you, Qing’er.”

Turning around Mu Qing perched on his mate’s lap, placing a chaste kiss to the other god’s lips. “I love you, A-Xin.”

“I love you more.”

Mu Qing huffed. “I highly doubt that.”

“You wanna bet?”

And if a shouting match between Feng Xin and Mu Qing could be heard from the Palace of Nan Yang anyone in the heavens would say that it’s just like any other day for them. But for two very idiotic, very in-love gods it was the start of their happily ever after.
