Chapter Text
His eyelids felt as if they were stuck together, his mouth felt so dry. He slowly pealed his eyes open. Looking down at him was a skeleton and the only thing he could think of was magnificent. He blinked a few times then looked around at his surroundings. He was in a large dimly lit room, the throne room, yes that’s right. To his left were six figures. While most of them were human in appearance one certainly was not. A large blue monster was among them. For a moment he felt fear and then something in his head seamed to push it away. And then the faces seemed familiar. Yes of course these were his comrades, How could he forget them.
“Everyone?” he rasped out. Then He tried to get up but his muscles felt weak. A Strong hand then helped him up the rest of the way. He felt his wings ruffle. His wings? He looked to his side and saw his black wings. He pulled them in slightly then stretched them out. They looked just like Albedo’s except slightly larger and hers seem fluffier. He looked back to the skeleton that was on his other side. He was the one that was helping him up. “My Lord? What. What happened?”.
“You don’t remember? You engaged in combat, but your opponent had a world item. You were overpowered” he took a pause. “And you were killed”.
“My lord, I must apologize for disgracing the Great Tomb!” He felt horrified at what he was told, but not because he died. He had left a stain on the name of the master he served and loved. Loved? Yes Loved, how could he doubt his feelings for the man before him.
In that deep rich voice Ainz spoke, “I must apologize, I should have sent someone with you. I wish I had gotten there sooner.”
‘My Lord” Gazef was deeply moved that Ainz the ruler of Nazarik would apologize to him. Ainz handed him a cup of water. With everything he had forgotten his thirst.
“Please everyone lets be extra cautious. This is the second resurrection we had to perform. Let’s try and not have a third” Demiurg spoke. He heard Shaltier groan.
“You are all dismissed that the resurrection was a success. I will tend to my husband.” Gazef’s head whipped around to face Ainz and his mouth fell open as he said that.
“Husband?... You and me?” How could Gazef forget something so important.
“You have forgotten, that is concerning” Gazef bowed with his hands on the floor.
“I can not apologize enough. This is unforgivable” Ainz cradled his face and lifted it to look at him. Gazef felt his heart flutter
“you have nothing to apologize for” He saw movement and Demiurge was next to them in an instant.
“Answer one question for me, WHO do you pledge your loyalty and life to”
“Lord Ainz and him alone” Gazef felt there was nothing truer and nothing his soul wanted more
Demiurg looked satisfied, bowed to their master and left. Gazef still felt confused about the situation, but if his lord and the floor guardians didn’t have any issues then he figured everything was fine. Then he felt his body being lifted up. He certainly was not lite and quickly threw his arms around Ainzs neck.
“My Lord! You don’t have to, I can manage by myself, you don’t have to trouble yourself.”
“Gazef, would you deny me something I want”
“Of course not”
“Then relax and let me carry you, because I want to.” Ainz teleported himself to his room.
He was fairly happy with how the resurrection and memory manipulation spell worked. He was disappointed that Gazef hadn’t “remembered” that they were married but his loyalty and attraction to him seemed to have stuck. After the annual war and Ainz himself had killed Gazef he felt it was such a waist for the warrior to perish. He returned home and used a spell to watch what they did with his body. Like they said they did not attempt to resurrect him. The kingdom held a ceremony to honor the man. Then Ainz had an idea, he was a collector and such a rare prize was wasted just being discarded. He called one of his subornments.
“Bring me to body of Gazef Stronoff, but don’t let anyone know it is gone. Wait till they close his coffin for the last time.” The servant bowed their heads and were gone. He had always respected the warrior. At some point he had come to want him for his own, but thought that having him as anymore than apart of the Great Tomb would never be possible. After his death even that was out of reach. But if he claimed him and wiped his memories and desires and replaced them with what suited him having Gazef under him was possible, and in more ways than one. Yes, once his mind is wiped Ainz will weave what he wished, but making sure that the man was still himself was vital. Ainz had never gone this far with reworking a persons mind, he had tampered with that priest that had foolishly entered his home. This will be a great experiment.
