Always You

Summary:

An attempt at expanding Gale's song from "The Season".

Notes:

Gale’s inner monologue looked way too much like my poetry so here. Chorus (underlined) is copied from The Season. Rest is built on its themes. I imagine the melody somewhere close to Cohen's "Take This Longing" (link)

Work Text:

Always You

Storm engulfs me, I run through it

You make beauty of my art
My head’s spinning and I’m lifted
By the candor in your eye

Pour your gold into my cracks
Let me hold your shattered heart
This tenderness, this holy art
My love, I’d tear myself apart
For you
And always you

I swear I’d bend reality
Just to rid your world of pain
And to decode your mystery
That I long to understand

Oh, allow my love to prove
How much it means to know you
Your passion, grace, my Waterloo
Oh, you would be my muse

Pour your gold into my cracks
Let me hold your shattered heart
This tenderness, this holy art
My love, I’d tear myself apart
For you
And always you

I see myself melt into you
My steps follow in your moves
Place faith and hope into the ruse
My folly, salvation, and truth
Only you
Always you
I’m drowning in the silence
So what for do I still scream
Cause when I’m stardust back again
Floating in the cosmic wind
Sun will shine with glimpse of your smile
I’ll live still in the memory
Of you
Always you
