“Percy, are you okay? You’ve been staring off into the distance this whole time,” Annabeth remarked, bringing back Percy’s wandering mind. Him, Annabeth, Nico, Will, and Leo were at a rally for Donald Trump. Annabeth thought it would be a great idea to actually get involved in the politics around them.
“We live here, so we should be more away of the things happening around us,” Annabeth had said. “It’ll be a good time,” Annabeth had said. Nico, Will, and Leo didn’t really have anything happening, so (with a lot of trying to convince Nico) they ended up here. Percy sat back a bit. This was so uninteresting and frankly, sort of a waste of time for him. He’ll never understand politics like Annabeth.
“Yeah, I’m fine, Wise Girl,” Percy replied back.
“Honestly, couldn’t there have been better candidates for President?” Nico questioned with a scoff, resting his head on Will’s shoulder and shutting his eyes. Will wrapped his arm around Nico, putting his head on top of him.
“Trump wouldn’t like that,” Leo joked, earning a short glare from Nico. Attempting to distract himself, Percy slumped in his seat and stared at the floor, when suddenly, he spotted something. It looked like a shiny, dark gray object lying on the floor. Percy straightened his posture before leaning down to grab the object, bringing it up until his eyes widened.
“Hey Annabeth…”
“Yeah Percy?” Annabeth looked down to where Percy was staring, her eyes also widening as she leaned closer to Percy and whisper-yelled, “Why in the Hades do you have a gun?!”
“Well Annabeth,” Percy brought it up to further view, catching the attention of Leo and Will. “I have absolutely no idea.”
“Don’t wave that thing around ! Someone could see it, or it could even go off!” Annabeth warned. Leo looked kind of excited, while Will looked bored and turned back to Nico, who was asleep on his shoulder.
“The safety’s probably on.”
“Have you ever used a gun?”
“How different can it even be from a sword?”
“VERY DIFFERENT, PERCY!!”
“Percy, I dare you to try it out,” Leo snickered. Percy kept holding the small gun in his hand, which still hadn’t been spotted by anyone around him. The safety was probably on, and he was bored to Tartarus. Leo held up two finger guns. “Pow pow!”
“Pow!” Percy said, fake-pressing the gun-
BANG.
The sound shook the stadium, waking up a startled Nico and Will. The rally burst into chaos. Annabeth quickly got up, grabbing Percy’s arm. The gun still kept shooting. In a last attempt to get out of this situation, Percy shoved the gun into someone else's arms.
“Here sir, you can have this trinket.” He ran alongside his friends, Annabeth being in charge. The security started coming out quickly.
“Oh my gods, you shot Trump’s ear!” Leo exclaimed, causing the group to look back. And there was Trump, security all around him, his ear bleeding.
“Percy what in the underworld was THAT??” Nico yelled, sleepy. He grabbed everyone’s arms. “Hold on, I’m gonna shadow-travel us.”
The second they landed on the soft grass of the camp, all five of them collapsed. Chiron was nearby, so he trotted up to the bunch.
“Are you guys alright? What happened,” Chiron asked, helping them up. Leo looked around sheepishly. Nico crossed his arms and angrily leaned against Will, who had his head in his hands. Annabeth looked completely done with all of them. Finally, Percy spoke up.
“Looks like I may have shot a future president.”
