(Modern day AU)
It was a warm autumn afternoon and Obanai had heard of this café that opened up in his town recently, it wasn't quite popular yet so he decided to go now to stay away from too much human interaction. He put his scarf and boots on and got ready to leave but realized he forgot something.
"Kaburamaru, where are you?" Kaburamaru was his pet and best friend who was a snake. Obanai took him everywhere, to his work, parties, hanging out with friends. They never left each others side. Kaburamaru slithered towards Obanai seeming confused but excited to be going somewhere today! He wrapped himself around his owner's neck and hissed in delight. Obanai smiled in return, his smile only being shown through his eyes as his scarf was covering the bottom half of his face.
Obanai opened is front door feeling the steady breeze flowing passed, his hair matching the pace as it swayed with the wind. Starting to walk in the direction towards the café, using Google maps to help with the direction, Kaburamaru looked confused as they never went this way before.
"We're going somewhere new, I think you'll enjoy it" Obanai said to ease Kaburamaru's thoughts. Kaburamaru nodded his head and snuggled into Obanai's scarf to keep warm. They continued to go in the same direction with a few turns for 5 minutes now until they reached the destination. The building was rather small, the outside was a mint green with a lot of windows. Some tables were outside with a couple of people sitting and drinking while talking to their loved ones.
Obanai went into the building, slightly hiding Kaburamaru in his scarf just incase pets weren't allowed. As he opened the door, a bell rang making one of the workers jump up and gasp in delight. When Obanai looked at the worked, he blushed slightly. Her hair was in braids and had a pink and green colour. She was wearing a pink and white dress with a pink hat.

"Ohayo! what can I get for you today^^" The worker's excitement made Obanai's heart race, no-one as ever been this happy to see him before. While Obanai was admiring the hyper worker, Kaburamaru peeked out of his owner's scarf to stare at another worker. She had black hair with her ends being dyed purple. Her hair was in a ponytail with a butterfly clip holding it. This worker was wearing something similar to the hyper one but instead of pink it was purple, she also seemed more calm. Kaburamaru fell in love at first sight when he saw her and almost slithered over until he remembered that Obanai would worry as to where he is.
"I would like a coffee and some Sakura mochi.. please!" Obanai said, he couldn't help but look away trying to hide his blush. The pink and green haired worker nodded while blushing slightly.
"Thats a great choice! The Sakura mochi's are my favourite^^ Sit down anywhere you like and I'll bring it to you shortly." She said while turning around to make the coffee. Obanai sat at a two seater table near the window and look out to see the autumn leaves dancing to the ground. The café was quite silent, the only sounds you could hear are the faint conversations from outside, the workers making small talk and the music. Obanai sighed and relaxed in his chair, this was the type of place he enjoyed.
"Here's your coffee and Sakura mochi sir!" Obanai turned his glance from the outside to the worker. His blush began to appear again as the pink and green haired worker placed his food and drink down on the table. He nodded a thank you before pulling his scarf down to slip his coffee, revealing his scar near his mouth. What he didn't realise was that the worker was still there.
"That scar is so pretty! It really suits you ^^" She said, her voice sounding so sweet and genuine. Obanai nearly choked on his coffee because of the sudden compliment. He looked at the worker again with a shocked expression, usually people find his scar weird and gross. Obanai's face became even more red as tried to find a way to thank the worker.
"T-thank you, I think your hair is very pretty!" He said while glancing away. In the corner of his view, he could see that the worker also began to blush.
"Thank you so much, that's very kind of you sir!" The worker said while smiling. She then turned away to go back behind the counter to wait for more customers, playing with her hair every once in a while thinking of Obanai's comment on her hair.

Obanai had finished his coffee and mochi, he must say they were the best things he's ever had. He goes up to the the counter to pay for his meal. After taking out his money, he looks up to see the pink and green haired worker with a happy expression on just from seeing the black haired male. Obanai puts 2000 yen on the counter as while smiling at the worker. He turns around to leave but before he does, he says something that made the worker even more happy than she already was.
"Thank you for the food and drink, they were amazing! I'll be sure to come back soon."
As a few months go by, Obanai goes back to the café every afternoon always bringing Kaburamaru along. Over the months he learned that the worker's name was Misturi Kanroji and her hair turned pink from the amount of Sakura mochi's she ate. They always hung out after Mitsuri finished her work, always enjoying their time together. Mitsuri and Obanai when to many places like the park, an aquarium, each other's house, always creating memories they could never forget. But for a few weeks now, Obanai has began to become more flustered a lot around Misturi but he didn't know why. After he told one of his friends, Sanemi, he figured out that he had a crush on the pink and green haired women. He had a plan to ask her out but his brain kept on telling him to forget about it because she'll most likely reject him and ruin their friendship. Obanai pushed those thoughts away and asked Mitsuri to meet her at the park. So there he was, patiently waiting for Mitsuri under a Sakura tree with a teddy bear behind his back.
Obanai became more worried as time passed, thinking that Mitsuri forgot or didn't plan to show up in the first place. But that worry went away as he saw her running towards him.
"Hi Obi^^ Why did you want to meet me here?" Mitsuri said while tilting her head with her classical smile. Obanai took a deep breath before removing his mask with his left hand. He stuffed it in his pocket before beginning to blush.
" For a few weeks, being around you has made my heart race flutter like crazy. At first I thought was beginning to hate you as this has never happened to me before, but the more I payed closer attention I realised that I enjoyed hanging out with you a lot more than I used to. You make me feel so special and happy. What I'm trying to say is that.. I'm in love with you, Mitsuri Kanroji."
As Obanai expressed his feelings, Mitsuri felt tears forming in her eyes happily knowing that her crush liked her back. She wiped her tears away as she began to express her feelings aswell
" I've felt the same aswell, Obanai. Ever since you complimented my hair, I felt appreciated and instantly knew I had a crush on you. Will you be my boyfriend, Obanai Iguro?"
Obanai nodded his head yes as he dropped the teddy bear to hug his new girlfriend, But she had other plans. When Obanai got close to her, Misturi grabbed his face gently and kissed him. Obanai was suprised but kissed back. The kiss was short but loving and passionate. After they broke the kiss, they smiled at each other and hugged, happy that they both found love.
On the other hand, Kaburamaru was jealous and glared at the two in hatred. How could his owner and some chick are allowed to get together but him and is soulmate can't. So what if he's snake and she's human, they're meant to be together. (it will never happen buddy)
