Chapter Text
"That old man will pay for this!" Uliana screeched, throwing a pillow at the window, as Morgie ducked to avoid it. He chose to believe she was always aiming for the window and not, you know, his face.
"It's only Castle Coming, it's totally lame anyway!" Morgie attempted to reason, palms splayed flat as though he was talking to a feral animal and voice slightly too high to be casual.
The group were hauled up in Morgie and Hook's dorm, discussing their fate. Merlin had not been happy to catch them in his office, deciding on the punishment to not just ban them from the dance, but to force them to help organise it! Act as some kind of servants to the stuck up rich princess and princesses. It had not gone over well. And to make matters worse, Morgie was exempt from the punishment, as he had been on lookout.
"Easy for ye to say, ye're not the one serving drinks to pink princesses all night." Hook mused, pulling himself up from his seat and gracefully sauntering over to wear Morgie stood, leaning against his chest of draws. "Although, I do think I'll look dashing in uniform, wouldn't ye agree, scales?" Hook took a deep bow with a flourish of his jacket, one hand neatly behind his back, his hook outstretched towards Morgie, as though offering a dance. Morgie froze, Hooks dark eyes soft and gently mocking, amusement dancing on his stupidly beautiful face.
Morgie simply rolled his eyes, shoving his hook away from his face, pushing off from the dresser and moving to sit on the armrest of Hade's chair. He hoped his pursed lips and annoyed expression hid any blush forming across his cheeks. Hook simply huffed a laugh, smirking, as though he knew how flustered Morgie had gotten, merely from his attention being focused on only him.
Maleficent snapped him out of his thoughts, voicing the silent question which had been hanging in the air, "Are you going to go Morgie?"
He chewed his lip, brows furrowed as he glanced at his friend's onlooking faces. Uliana wore an expression of distracted anger, as though her thoughts were still too consumed by revenge to actually care what Morgie did with his life. Maleficant looked expectant, but beyond that she was impossible to read. Hades was beyond disinterested, barely concealing a yawn, most likely trying to think of an excuse to go back to his own housing off campus. And Hook. Hook met Morgies eyes unabashedly, face stoney.
"Well...I dont suppose it would be much fun without you guys..And, um, you know, revenge. So I guess I'll just stay here and like study or something." Morgie let out a small breath of air which he had been holding in from the beginning of this whole conversation. He tried desperately to read Hook's expression, failing miserably as his expression did not change.
That was, until, Hades decided it was time to pipe up, standing and almost knocking Morgie off his perch, he stuck his hands in his pockets, his face unbelievably bored. "Just go, no point staying here for no reason. Besides maybe you can find a date."
And with that he made his way to the door, stopping before Mal and offering a hand, not sparing anyone but her so much as a glance as he did so.
Mal gave a final glance at Hook, who was now staring at his hooked hand, disinterestedly, and rolled her eyes. "Yeah Morgie, still go, maybe you can pick up some information to help Uliana with her revenge on Bridget. Don't waste the night."
As the two exited, Uliana perked up, eyes narrowed and her tentacles flicking sporadically. "Yes! Do that Morgie, just because this plan didn't work out doesnt mean I wont be getting my revenge on that little pink phony!" She stormed towards the door with a muttering of revenge and flamingos, and in a blink of an eye he and Hook were alone in their dorm.
Morgie turned towards his best friend, only to find him missing from the spot he had just been occupying. Instead, Hook was now sat on the edge of his bed, unlacing his boots with a dark expression. Morgie wilted slightly, Hook must be mad that Morgie got off scot-free, whereas the rest were punished. So instead of pushing the subject any further, Morgie swallowed his apologies, and silently went to bed, the air strangely tense for a reason he couldn't fully explain.
