Days passed and blurred together as if each moment was captured on a film that was used to catch the moments before. Moments upon moments stacked upon each other until it was just a mishmash of familiar shapes. And then it's as if the film is cranked by hand, like in those old movies but too fast, blurring.
Meanwhile, Colin is stuck watching. Over and over again until his mind numbs. Until he started seeing answers in the film. Until he started to see a figure appear from the blurred shapes.
The days passed and bled together, and in the middle stood Stefan.
Stefan and Colin made their way, once again, to the door of Colin's apartment. There was a noticable difference in the decor. A difference that could be attributed to the fact that Colin lives alone this time. No Kitty, no Pearl. Nor any of the few others he's shared his life with through the timelines. He noted a pleasant confusion in Stefan's face at the absence of their introduction.
Colin could tell by the look in his eye that Stefan knew they've done this dance before. Stefan goes over to Colin's, meets his family, they get high and one of them jumps. Every time, even if Kitty and Pearl weren't there at that moment they've been at least present in his life. Not this time.
Eyes met as Colin and Stefan made their way to the couch. Their eyes spoke the same sentiment:
This time will be different.
