BREAKING NEWS: The nation is in the midst of a massive vampire extermination operation. Government and military authorities have issued an urgent statement declaring an end to any coexistence between humans and vampires.
Chloe scoffed in pure rage as she listened to the nonsense coming from the news reporter on the small television in her bedroom.
‘Declaring an end to any coexistence between humans and vampires’?
Bullshit! Not on my watch! I will not let them hurt my best friends! Chole angrily shut the tv off because she didn’t want to hear any more of that crap as she quickly grabbed her go-bag.
Unfortunately, she knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before something like this would happen.
Jungwon always promised her that if something like this were to happen that he - they , would take her to Riverfield with them. Where they could start over and not have to always look over their shoulders.
Chloe grabbed her go-bag and threw it over her shoulder then she went to her closet and reached on the top shelf where she pulled down the box that held her firearms and knives. Although she was an excellent shot, she preferred her knives. They were more discreet and sleek.
She tucked all of her weapons into her go-bag or on her person.
Once she had everything, she left her bedroom for the last time.
There was nothing left for her here in this house - in this family. She preferred to be with her 7 best friends that cared more for her in such a short time than her family ever did.
She quietly shut the door and tip-toed downstairs. She knew this house like the back of her hand, so she knew all of the spots where the floorboards creaked or the blindspots, so she was able to get out of the house without her deadbeat father and good for nothing uncle knowing that she even left.
Making her way down the alley behind her house, she stuck to the shadows and made her way to the Music Shop - their safe space.
They all made a pact with each other that if anything serious went down then they would meet at the Music Shop so they could figure out their next plan and make their way to Riverfield.
There was a major police presence out on the streets, so she did her best to lay low as much as possible and just make it to the music shop.
As she was making her way there, her mind was racing with thoughts of the plans they had already talked about once they made it to Riverfield.
“We can find a nice little place just for us”. Chole suggested excitedly.
“Oh and we can scavenge for food.” Ni-ki replied.
They all chuckled.
“Ni-ki, we don’t need to scavenge for food, silly. I can just make a trip to the market for us.” Chloe stated.
Chloe smiled to herself remembering that conversation. She shook her head to get herself back in the game of what the reality was right now.
First, we have to get out of this town, safely and make it to Riverfield.
