Chapter 1: Tucker's put on the case

Chapter Text

In this city, everyone has a power, which only reveals itself when they meet their soulmate. They can range from being able to power a lightbulb with your hand to being able to solve the problems of the world with a snap of your finger. Most people don’t realize they have their power until a bit after they meet as they usually start weak and grow stronger and more noticeable as you get closer to your soulmate. Craig hadn’t found his yet, and didn’t think he would anytime soon, or so he thought.

"Detective Tucker?" The voice from the city's most well-respected uniformed officer, Mars Dean, well Mx. Dean in a professional sense like this one.

“Yeah?” Craig replied, caught off guard by Mars.

“Earlier this evening, while performing a usual house check, I and my colleague came across something unusual.”

“What’s this ‘unusual’ thing you found, Mx?”

“Eric Cartman, who lives just a few blocks from this office found dead in his family home”

“...Cartman!??” Craig says in disbelief “I knew about him in primary school, never were close, but this is still some… shocking information.” Craig breathed, continuing, “Do you have any other information about this case I would need to know?”

“Power: Being able to see everything around him, aged 25 and died from murder. You’re gonna be put on the case with a newer detective that just moved in from across the country, Detective Tweak. You two will meet up at the house at 8. Eric’s family will be waiting there to provide you with as much information as they have.”

“On it.”

Craig puts on his detective cap and jacket before running out of his office, keys in hand. He jumps into his car, trying to get to the Cartman's house as quickly as possible.

After turning a few blocks (with his horrible driving skills,) Craig turns onto the right street.

He immediately knew it was the right house due to the crime scene tape and police cars surrounding it.

He pulls up on the road next to the house. At the same time, he saw another car pull up, probably his partner in this case.

Craig steps out of his car staring across the street at where Detective Tweak was parked, watching the shorter blonde-headed guy open his car door.

He can hardly see his face but as soon as he steps forward he can. He feels like can hardly breathe as soon as his face comes into focus. He’s… very handsome… shut up Craig, you shouldn't be thinking that about him, stay professional Tucker.

He spaces out for a moment in thought before being interrupted.

“Hey- ack, Detective Tucker?” Detective Tweak says to him.

Craig snaps out of his thoughts and replies with a simple, “Hey,” trying not to make it obvious he was just having a fucking gay panic attack just a few moments earlier.

“Were you, staring at me earlier you, ack, stalker.” He teases Craig which makes Craig turn a dark shade of red.

“No! No, why would I do that?!”

“I was just teasing you Tucker, why are you so nervous about it?”

“I’m- I'm not nervous!! Okay??”

“Ack, whatever, let's just get to work.” Craig follows Detective Tweak to the crime scene, cheeks still dark red from Detective Tweak's taunts.

“I never got your first name, Detective Tweak.”

“Tweek, what about yours?”

“Tweek Tweak huh, your parents were really creative with that one weren't they?” Craig then continues a second later of awkward silence, realizing he forgot to answer the question, “Oh yeah! My name’s Craig by the way.”

“Oh shush, ack, Craig’s an old man's name.” Tweek retorted.

“Enough of introductions and bullying me, let's get to work.”

“Okay, old man Tucker.”

Craig crosses his arms and Tweek walks ahead, opening the front door.

“Ladies first,” Tweek says to Craig doing some weird bowing thing that leaves butterflies in Craig's stomach.

“We have to focus Detective Tweak.”

“Fine, you should still go first though-”

Craig Walks into the house and feels bile rising in his throat immediately as he does, there he was, Eric, fucking Cartman dead splat on the floor. In all its disgusting bloody glory. His mind went a blur but he had to power through. He looked around the house for anything at all.

“Oh my god…” Tweek muttered under his breath, Craig just staying in shocked silence. “There’s no clear entry or exit points of the murderer, are we sure this wasn’t done by the wife or even one ack of his children.”

“I don’t know… But that definitely is weird.”

“Well, um, what was his power? Is that ack some information we have?”

“His power is being able to see around him, like sense things that are close.”

“I know this is a really bad time to be asking this, but, do you have a power yet?” Craig asked Tweek.

“No, you?”

“Oh, uh, that’s cool, me neither”

“Why would you wanna know Tucker-”

“No reason, just thought it’d be cool if y’know you had uhh a power that could help in the case, yeah.”

“Ack okay Tucker.” Tweek gave him a sly smile that made him want to melt on the spot. “Well, based on his powers the way this scene seems to be is really ack weird.”

“Yeah, definitely.”

“There seemed to be little to no resistance on his side, must’ve been snuck up on.”

“But how would they do that… with his power and all?”

“I think we’re gonna have to ack bring his family into questioning, no matter if there’s no concrete proof I think they’re our top suspects.”
