PROLOGUE
an eye cut again.
Gael held out her palm, stained with blood. Inside it sat the purple eye. A carcass on her small hands. The world burned, its wrath searing. The caves of Dragonstone wailed with its putrid voice.
Screams echoed her name, horror, vengeance and agony. The dragons screamed with their riders, for foes, fiends and kin. She looked down at the eye, gripping the blade that took it. One wound, threadbare. Looking up at the anguished faces, she would never dream again.
