Work Text:
Everyone knew they wanted each other. From the day Miles and Evan were paired together as roommates, to when they started hanging out together all the time, to when Miles ‘coincidentally’ started doing his eyeshadow the exact same green tone as Evan's skin almost every day. And, everyone knew why they didn't. How Miles felt bad as a human scientist, how Evan never stopped feeling less than him for it, how as relaxed as they were around each other, that power imbalance was still there, the elephant in the room in their every conversation. Everyone winced when Miles would be shocked Evan didn't know a kids movie that everybody must have watched, and no-one dared to tell Evan that they're really not into the food he buys, especially as getting it sent from his planet is such a wait.
So no-one expected it when Miles snapped and kissed Evan one evening, much less either of them. Saying he was tired of pretending they didn't want each other, tired of not acting on it just because of the ‘outdated rules’ of their college. And… of course their friends didn't have to know! Kat would get scared, and surely rat them out with how nervous she is about being expelled, and Carl would never stop teasing them for it, so… they decided that hook-up stayed between them.
They had, however, forgotten that they were only a few hours away from pizza night, with all their friends coming over.
The second the “TURN THE OVEN ON NOW!!” alarm went off on Miles’ phone, they both rushed to pull their clothes back on. Evan was a deep shade of blue from the almost finished events, and Miles barely able to walk due to the alien’s rough treatment. It didn't help that Collin was early, knocking at the door just as Miles' had pulled his shirt back on.
“Hi!”
He says breathlessly, looking at his slightly taller friend. He scratched his nose nervously, eyes darting down the hall.
“Water?”
Collin walks in, smiling at Miles with a slightly confused look.
“You look… healthy. Yeah, could do with a glass”
Evan decides to ignore that remark and dash to the kitchen, turning the oven on in the process. Yeah, he had been a little heavier recently, but that's no-one else's business, he always stress-eats around finals!
Collin took a place on the sofa, sitting next to the blue Evan. The two were close from high school, with the former always teasing him.
“What, are Miles’ shorts doing something for ya’? I've never seen you this shade, man.”
Evan could only mumble a quick “shut up!”, punching his friend's shoulder softly.
“It's not my fault his thighs are so big!”
He quickly says, semi-proud of his quick reasoning – or better said, quick excuse.
“Yeah, about that—”
There was another knock as Kat arrived. Evan immediately rushed to get the door, wanting to get out of the conversation before something slipped out, shaking his head lightly to get rid of the blushing before letting Kat in.
“Hey darling, Miles' in the kitchen, but he'll be through soon, alright?”
Kat smiled, hugging Evan. She obviously loved them both, but Miles had been with her since preschool. She went through to say hi, seeing him hurriedly spreading cheese on a big homemade pizza base. Her eyes linger on him, a little surprised, but still quite happy.
“Hey love, you're uhm-”
"Huh?"
How does one phrase this without being a bitch?
“... Getting good at cooking!”
Miles was confused by the tone, but takes the compliment anyway, going to half hug her with one arm.
“Go sit with the others, I'll be out in a minute, alright?”
Kat chuckled watching him dash around, before going to the living room. Just as she went to sit down, there was a third knock at the door. It’s funny how the only time the guests were all punctual was the day neither of the hosts wanted them there.
Evan went to the door, telling Kat to sit down. The second the door was opened, Carl pulled Evan into a chokehold, ruffling his hair.
“Theeere he is!”
He lets the alien go, taking a seat on the sofa. Before he could ask about Miles, the boy appeared, sweaty from the heat of the kitchen. He stopped in his tracks.
“What?”
He asked, seeing everyone’s face drop when he walked in. His face went pinker than it already was, as he noticed the guests all staring at where his stomach was poking out from under his shirt. In hindsight, he wouldn’t have put that shirt on if he remembered it being that tight. Evan is a deep shade of blue again, eyes darting between his roommate’s stomach, then face, then stomach again. Evan's just realised what's happened, and fuck, he needs Miles to take an egg dissolver now before everyone figured out their little affair. To be fair, he always offered the pill to his hook-ups when they were done, but as they were interrupted before Miles finished, it completely escaped his mind… The only problem was communicating that to Miles without anyone else overhearing.
Carl was the first to say anything about Miles’ appearance, breaking the unbelievably tense silence.
“You getting a taste for your own pizzas, Miles?”
What was it with everyone being so goddamn rude about his weight?! He did this every year, they should have been used to it by now!
“... It’s out in a few minutes, Carl. Nice to see you too.”
He went to sit down, annoyed by Carl, but stumbled onto Evan’s lap, before quickly moving away. What was it with his balance?!
Evan took the closeness to try to tell Miles about the eggs, grabbing his arm.
“Mi’, earlier—”
“You good, Miles?”
Carl asks, the teasing tone gone. He was feeling bad for the rude comment, but at the same time, the whole situation was just so odd… They had been over the week before, and Miles looked completely different! He knew his friend’s weight fluctuated a lot, but when you hit an all-time high in a single week, you can expect to raise a few eyebrows.
“Yeah, guess the heat of the kitchen got me a little dizzy. How are you doing with finals?”
Carl smiled, shaking his head.
“Two seconds away from suicide, the usual.”
They all chuckled, breaking the tense atmosphere once again. Collin took the opportunity to start shit-talking the new sub they all got just before exam season. Everyone relaxed, well, everyone but Evan. He had what he thought was about an hour before Miles starts laying, and as embarrassing as their fling is, keeping the human’s asshole intact was a little more important than keeping their secret.
So, when the alarm goes off to check the pizza, They both get up.
“I’ll check with you!”
Evan blurted out, grabbing his roommate’s arm. Miles chuckles, shaking his head.
“You’re very sweet Evan, but you don’t have enough sweat glands to be in the kitchen while the oven’s on, you’ll dehydrate, remember? You relax, I can do it, okay?”
Evan internally cursed Miles for being too smart, remembering how his own body worked better than him. He sat down, letting the boy stumble through.
He saw everyone turn to him, all mentally trying to figure out how to ask about the elephant in the room without sounding deeply fatphobic, and his solution was to take out his phone, hurriedly texting Miles.
Kat tried to bring the teacher back up, and the conversation took a while to pick back up, but eventually they were all semi-distracted again. That was, until Miles came back into the living room. He had obviously noticed, looking worried. The once oversized shirt was looking more like a crop-top, laying a little above his belly button. His stomach let out a loud sloshing sound as he walked, which he tried to cover up with a cough, to no avail. It was no longer a matter of if someone was going to say something, but who.
“Pizza..?”
Beat, as they all watched him carefully put it down on the table. Carl looked around, seeing everyone reacting but no-one speaking up. He gave in, deciding to finally just get it out.
“Miles, why—?”
“There’s dissolvers in my bedside table, first drawer. Please take them now, Mi’.”
There were a couple of seconds of silence, before a big gasp from Kat.
“You fucked?!”
Miles laughed, teasingly smacking her arm, blushing slightly.
“Are you really surprised? I'm so obviously into him.”
Evan mentally screamed, wanting to pull Miles close, and kiss him right there. But, he shakes the idea away, remembering the much bigger issue.
“Mi’, I don't know how long you have before—”
“FUCKING HELL!”
Miles bent over, grasping the sofa's armrest with one hand, and clutching his stomach with the other. Everyone could hear the eggs moving, almost ready to come out.
“I need to nest…”
He mumbled, stumbling into the hall.
Fuck, this was really happening. Evan's eyes widened as he rushed to his room, getting the bed ready for their clutch. The other three just sat there, dealing with both the fact that their friends had finally got together, and that one of them was about to lay eggs, on the campus of a college where alien/human sexual relations were completely prohibited.
“Do we…?”
Kat asked, not exactly sure what she was asking.
“I feel bad watching.”
Replied Collin, staring at the floor like a traumatised child. His voice was almost shaky.
“I don't.”
Carl purred proudly, leaning back. Kat looked over, seeing him hard.
“Fucking hell, Carl, pervert!”
They both laughed, with Collin letting out a little chuckle. Then, there was silence again. No-one could really decide what was appropriate in this situation.
“I think we should help.”
Kat mumbled, with the other two nodding, and getting up.
When they walked in, Miles was laying down with his legs spread, naked from the waist down. He was surrounded by cushions, plushies, and the lights were at a low ambient level. Evan was next to him, stroking his stomach with one hand, and his hair with another. Neither of them noticed as the other three walked in.
The good thing about all five of the students being at this college together, is that they were all experts in alien reproduction. They knew because of Evan's species and planet combined with the heat of Miles' body the clutch would have four eggs, and that they would survive less than an hour once out of Miles. All that was left was to brace for the screaming, and hoping Miles can skip a couple classes on Monday.
As the first one started to emerge, Miles’ mouth opened so wide in a scream that it looked like the edges of his mouth were going to split apart. Evan shushed him through it, pushing on the stomach every now and then, until it finally fell out.
In a weird way, this was the best class the five were ever going to get in alien oviposition. Everyone but Miles stared at the egg, in all its almost metallic green glory. It was strangely beautiful, as it faintly glowed a light green on Miles' sweaty thighs.
Before they could think about it much longer, the second was slipping out, much easier this time. Carl could take his eyes off how gaped Miles was, feeling himself get so excited it was painful, as he almost subconsciously started to palm himself through the fabric of his jeans. It wasn't like he was the only one either. Evan was certainly feeling much stronger feelings for the human than he had only hours earlier, but it was only natural. Unlike a lot of species on earth, his had instincts that made ovipositors extremely protective over the eggs and even more over the egg layers. He wanted to hold Miles so tightly, kiss his stupid human face, and fill him up with more and more clutches. But he knew to help him through it.
The third egg pushed out with a pretty popping sound, and Miles’ stomach had almost completely gone down. The screaming had turned into small pained moans as Evan pushed down on his stomach, bringing the last egg out, and letting the boy relax. Miles collapsed onto the bed, panting, before looking over at his friends.
“Fuck, hi. Oh, Carl, you're—”
“Yeah. Sorry.”
Despite the apology, Carl didn't stop, continuing to look at Miles hungrily, with his hand tightly against his clothed crotch.
Evan pulled Miles into a tight hug, mumbling praise and kissing his hair, still ignoring the other three. The human chuckled, sitting up.
“Are we still up for pizza?”
