Chapter Text
Regina didn't like scary movies, she didn't like Halloween, she might have been the evil queen but she doesn't like to be scared. Emma on the other hand loves it all. She loves Halloween.
"How are we going to make this decision?" Regina said, crossing her legs sitting in her chair looking over at her wife.
"Can't we just decorate for Halloween, Regina? Please?" Emma looked at Regina hoping her puppy eyes would work.
"Emma...don't give me those eyes! That's not playing fair!" Regina said and shook her head.
They both sighed and then Emma sat up. She had an idea!
"How about this? We decorate your way..." Regina sat up, uncrossing her legs and smiles "But! You have to watch one Halloween movie with me."
Regina's face falls and Emma smiles now.
"Emma, you know I can't do that" she scowled and sat back in her chair again.
"Come on, babe, I'll be right with you, holding your hand, and keeping you safe. I'll never leave your side!" Emma pleaded now standing up and walking over to Regina and sitting on her lap.
"Pleeeeease" Emma said sticking out her bottom lip.
Regina took a deep breath and glared at her wife "it better not be too scary"
Emma kissed Regina and jumped up and ran around the living room like a little kid, pumping her hands in the air.

The next day Regina woke up and got out all her autumn decorations so excited to get started.
She had a beautiful autumn wreath hanging on the door, a scarecrow on the porch, pumpkin center pieces on the table in the kitchen and living room.
It was getting later in the day and her nerves had started as she thought about having to watch that movie with Emma. The last time she watched a scary movie she didn't sleep that whole night.
Emma walked into the living room where her wife was finishing up decorating. She was putting the final touches on the fireplace, she had grabbed a couple of the ghosts that Emma had bought for Halloween this year and hung them on either side of the shelf over the fireplace.
Stopping for a minute she watched Regina as she moved around making sure everything was perfectly in place. Regina finally noticed she was being watched and looked up smiling at Emma.
"What do you think? I thought you would appreciate these" Regina said pointing at the ghosts
"Everything looks great, babe." Emma said as she walked over to Regina and pecks her on the lips
"Thanks for putting my ghosts out. See they aren't so scary are they?" Emma asked lifting her eyebrows
"I guess they're fine." Regina said
"Speaking of scary, I found the movie for tonight!" Emma told her wife holding a DVD in her hands
"What is it?" Regina's mind was reeling already, she couldn't believe she had to watch this

They had pillows and blankets covering the couch and Regina was almost all the way on Emma's lap with a pillow in front of her face as they watched A Quiet Place. Emma thought it would be perfect. It's not too scary but suspenseful.
"How are you doing babe?" Emma asked Regina the movie almost over.
Regina turned to look at Emma her face still behind the pillow "I can't believe you made me watch this!it's terrifying!"
The movie credits rolled and Regina jumped up and turned on the lights, still freaked out.
"Wasn't it worth it though? Look at all your beautiful decorations" Emma said pointing to everything
Regina glared at her wife who was giggling at her "let's go to bed" Emma said grabbing Regina's hand leading her upstairs.
When they got to their room Regina climbed into bed and Emma made her way to the bathroom.
"Where are you going?!" Regina called out seeing Emma walking away
"I just need the bathroom I'll be right back" Emma walked away and Regina sunk down in bed and pulled the blanket up around her. She heard a sound and her head quickly turned towards the door of their room, it was coming from the hallway.
"What was that? Emma! Is that you?" She called out
Her eyes got wider and she called out for Emma again.
"Emma?!" She was definitely freaked out now
Emma ran back into the room hearing Regina yelling out her name "Regina, what's wrong? Are you okay?" She climbed into the bed rushing to the side of her shivering wife.
"I...I heard a noise and got scared" Regina said and slumped down against the pillows and pulled the blanket over her head feeling a bit embarrassed.
Emma smiled and poked all over the blanket Regina was under. She could hear little gasps and tiny giggles as she poked.
"Reeegina come out" Emma sing songed and waited for an answer.
Regina didn't move, she felt safe under the blanket plus she was blushing from the pokes.
"If you don't come out I'm going to really tickle you" Emma threatened
Regina squeaked but didn't come out.
"Okay, you asked for it!" Emma slid her hands under the blanket and found Regina's sides and squeezed them over and over.
"Nahahahaha! Noooohohoho!" Regina squirmed and wiggled side to side the blanket slipping off of her
"Eeeek! Okay okay hahaha I'm out I'm out" she laughed and grabbed Emma's hands
Emma leaned down and kissed Regina softly on the lips. "I won't leave you again, I promise."
They snuggled up and fell asleep in each other's arms. Regina knew she was safe with her savior by her side.
