"I'm going to make a mess if you keep going like that." You tell Terzo. His hands wrap around your waist; travelling across your stomach and hips. They explore you where you stand.
"Don't threaten me with a good time, teroso mio." Terzo whispers into your ear. His tongue laps at the crook of your neck.
"Honey… that's it." You remember, leaning forward against the counter, grabbing the jar of honey.
A sigh leaves Terzo's lips. "You've been in here all morning."
"It takes time to bake something just right, let alone four different things just right." You tell him.
Terzo rests his chin on your shoulder, moping while you continue to measure and mix the ingredients from your recipe for a special, family honey cake. You may love his company, but you are focused on the task at hand. You have already made a rich, chocolate cake, a sweet strawberry rhubarb pie and a tangy rosemary lemon tart. This is the final dessert on your list.
"You really didn't have to do this. We would all have been fine with one cake." Terzo grumbles.
"You all picked different desserts." You explain.
"Well, you went to each of us separately to ask. We would have all agreed on something if you really wanted to bake for us." Terzo rebuts.
"I think it's important that you all get something you enjoy." You explain as you continue to mix the batter.
"So, you knew we would have compromised for you." Terzo points out. "And you made sure we wouldn't be able to."
"I may not have known your favourite dessert, but I know you all well enough." You chuckle as you finish stirring, and grab the pan for the cake. "Your hearts are bigger than your stomachs.”
Terzo shifts to lay kisses upon your shoulder. He travels along, towards your arm. "I don't know. My appetite is quite enormous right now."
Between some of the kisses, Terzo takes a delicate lick across your skin.
You can't help but giggle. "What are you trying to do?"
"I'm savouring your sweetness." Terzo answers before he continues his journey.
"Well, if you don't settle down, you'll get a lot more sweetness than you bargained for." You warn him as you lift the mixing bowl over the cake pan.
A little nibble of your shoulder causes you to squeak. The spoon slips from your hand, and the nearly empty bowl falls, crashing onto the counter. The bowl rolls back onto it's base, settling in place, but not before the remaining batter splatters onto you.
“Are you jealous that I am treating y’all to something special?” You turn around and ask.
“Me? Jealous?” Terzo denies. "Of who?"
“So, you wouldn’t mind if I took a moment to drop this off to Secondo.” You reach for one of the platters of dessert while maintaining eye contact.
You see the subtle twitch of Terzo’s lip and you know that you’ve got him.
“You wouldn’t.” Terzo threatens.
“It’s only good when it’s fresh.” You tease.
Terzo’s eyes squint with a challenging glare.
You watch him, wondering what he is going to do.
Terzo brings his hand towards your face. His thumb brushes across your cheek, revealing a droplet of batter. He brings it to his mouth, gently upon his tongue. His eyes never leaving yours. "Mmm… you're absolutely right. It is best while it is still fresh."
You are too busy watching Terzo taste the batter that you miss the moment his other hand has reached for the fallen spoon. The batter drips off of it as he brings it towards you two. When you finally see it, it is too late. It drips across your chest.
Before you can protest, he boops you on the nose. The surprise stuns you. His tongue follows suit, lapping the batter off your nose.
"It is quite delicious." Terzo invites you. " Care to join me?"
The spoon taps his nose playfully.
