Chapter Text
Pain, that's all the three heroes in training could feel as they fought against the League of Villains. It seemed that the heroes were losing miserably, but in reality, the heroes weren’t winning, but they were still standing their ground.
Raging blue flames mixed with the force of orange fire, a giant man was fighting the heroes, and multiple spikes were headed towards a green haired boy.
Izuku Midoriya could only watch in horror, as Shigaraki’s spikes flew towards him. Izuku knew that if he tried to move using either float or black whip, he would be too slow to dodge the spikes. Simply, he knew that he was going to die. He watched as the spikes further advanced towards him, he braced himself, hoping that by some miracle the spikes wouldn’t kill him. But just as the spikes were about to impale him, Bakugou appeared out of thin air and pushed him out of the way, taking the hit meant for him. “Kaachan” Izuku said quietly, looking at the impaled Bakugou, “Why did you do that?”
Bakugou turned his head to look at Izuku, confusion written all over his face, with blood dripping down his chest. Bakugou looked at Izuku, his pupils dilated, his eyes shaking, and his face was littered with blood, “I don’t know what happened” he said quietly, “One minute I was fighting and then my body suddenly started to move on its own.”
Izuku was frozen in shock, Kaachan, Bakugou, the person who he had been bullied by for years, all because Izuku didn’t have a quirk, had just saved him. He couldn’t believe his eyes, he was in such utter disbelief that he didn’t realise his float quirk had deactivated, and now he was falling to his doom.
Meanwhile, Shouto Todoroki, the youngest son of the Pro-Hero Endeavour, was fighting his own big brother. Personally, Shouto would say that Touya was still dead, because the man he was fighting now was not his brother. His brother wouldn’t have wanted to kill Natsuo just to make Endeavour suffer, his brother wouldn’t ever hurt Natsuo or his family. The truth was clear, Touya was gone, and in his place, was a villain named Dabi.
Blue and orange flames danced across the battlefield as the two brothers fought. As the two brothers' flames clashed, their father could only watch in horror. “SHOUTO, TOUYA, STOP THIS NOW PLEASE!” Endeavour yelled at the boys, to no avail.
The two continued to clash, ignoring their fathers words, nothing else mattered at the moment. Their eyes locked, knowing that to defeat the other, they would need to put all their power into their next move. Without hesitation, the boys pulled back their fists and charged directly at each other, with the intent to kill. “FLASHFIRE FIST, JET KINDLING” Shouto yelled, letting his flames burst out at full power towards his brother.
“FLASHFIRE FIST, JET KINDLING, JET BURN” Dabi yelled, putting all his strength into his attack.
As the both flames clashed, for a second, they seemed to be evenly matched, but then the blue flames completely engulfed the orange ones. The witnesses could only watch in horror as they saw the youngest Todoroki get knocked out by his older brother. As Shouto went unconscious, he started to fall. Seeing that he needed help, Endeavour tried to fly to Shouto, but Dabi stopped him. “Oh no old man, you’re not going to take away my victory today!” Dabi said with malice in his voice. “Shouto’s going to die, your masterpiece is going to die right in front of your eyes, and while you mourn him, I’ll be celebrating, knowing that I dealt the same pain unto you as you did to me!”
Endeavour’s eyes widened, as he took his attention off of Dabi and instead looked at Shouto. He could feel the pain in his chest as he watched Shouto fall to his doom like his other two friends. Then suddenly, Shouto disappeared. Endeavour was confused to say the least, how did his son just disappear? He quickly looked around and saw that both of Shouto’s classmates, Katsuki and Izuku, disappeared too. “Um, are you as confused as me, old man?” Dabi said. And honestly, Endeavour was.
Bakugou thought he was going to die, he had been impaled by spikes while saving Dek- no Izuku from Shigaraki. He knew he was going to die, at least he thought that he was going to die. But what he wasn’t expecting was what had happened next.
8 hours Earlier
Today was a normal day for Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira. He had just finished a simple mission. A few demons were found in a town close to his estate and so he was sent to deal with them. The demons had been newly turned and had barely eaten any humans so it was easy to defeat the demons since they had no blood demon art. Now he was walking back to his estate, everything was quiet, until he sensed a new presence near him. He could sense that they were in need of immediate medical attention, so he quickly picked up the poor soul and started to take them to the butterfly mansion.
He arrived at the butterfly mansion in just seven minutes. As he went through the gates he could sense Shinobu’s absolute worry at seeing the person over his shoulder. “WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?” Shinobu had asked him with clear worry evident in her voice.
“I have no idea what exactly happened to this boy, I was walking back to my estate when I sensed a person in need of help and then I found him.” Gyomei said, very calmly, but still not hiding the worry in his voice. He really wished that this boy had never gotten these injuries, but he’s happy that he was able to find him.
“Okay, AOI GET A BED READY IN THE INFIRMARY QUICKLY IT’S URGENT!” Shinbou yelled out.
Without incentive, Gyomei quickly brought the boy to the infirmary. Shinobu arrived soon after and ushered him out so she could work. For the next hour, Gyomei could do nothing but wait. Eventually Shinobu came out of the infirmary with an update on the boy’s health. “He’s stable now, his wounds were horrible but he was lucky enough that we were able to fix them. But we’ll need to keep him here for a while to watch over his injuries.”
“That is good to hear” Gyomei said, his stress lifting “May I see him?”
“Yes you can, he’s still asleep though.” Shinobu responded “I’ll bring you to him.”
Shinobu then brought Gyomei to the sleeping boy, not saying a word, letting him sit next to the unconscious boy. Gyomei leaned over the boy as he spoke, “I will pray for your well being until you are awake young one.”
Gyomei stayed there for a while, during which time he noticed that 2 more kids, seemingly the same age as the boy he found had been put in for care at the butterfly mansion. From what he heard and sensed, one of the boys had severe burns and weird hair and the other one had his arms and legs broken. ‘What a cruel fate’ Gyomei thought ‘I will pray for all three of these young ones.’
7 hours later the boy woke up, Gyomei noticed this and looked at him (Well he looked towards him, he couldn’t actually see him), he sensed that the boy was also looking at him too. There was silence for a few seconds before the boy yelled “WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!”
Gyomei was about to respond until he heard the boy fall back into the bed. Now how on earth did this kid just wake up and then immediately fell asleep? Needless to say, Gyomei was baffled.

Izuku wasn’t expecting today to turn out like this, sure he did expect getting beaten badly by a villain but he didn’t expect to see both of his friends disappear and then to have himself disappear and then wake up in an angry white haired man's garden?
5 minutes before
The Wind Hashira Sanemi was tired. He had just dealt with a very annoying demon, one who’s Blood demon art could affect the air around them, which annoyingly interfered with Sanemi’s Total Concentration Breathing. But with a lot of effort Sanemi was able to defeat the demon with the only technique he could muster. He had just gotten home and was resting after his mission. He was enjoying the quiet calm of his estate, that was until he heard a rustle in the garden. Sanemi quickly looked outside, seeing that it wasn’t night time so he knew it couldn’t be a demon. But still he grabbed his sword and went outside, only to see, a boy? The boy had green bushy hair and was wearing a very weird outfit, basically only green. He also saw the boy's arms, why were they so mangled? What had he done to have injured them that bad? Then the boy opened his eyes, and looked at him. He seemed scared? Even though Sanemi was an angry individual at heart, he couldn’t help but take pity on the boy. “Oi brat!” Sanemi barked, “You okay?” Sanemi continued to look at the boy, who was still frozen in fear. “Hey brat, whatever you’re scared of, it’s not here anymore.” He was trying his best to calm down the boy, but seeing as he didn’t have the best communication skills, he wasn’t doing very well.
After a few minutes with no response, he ran out of patience and picked up the boy, expecting him to resist, but he didn’t. Wasting no time he started running towards the butterfly mansion. The mansion wasn’t very far away, it would take Sanemi around 4 minutes to get there at his top speed.
Sanemi continued to run through the forest surrounding his estate, holding the boy over his shoulder. Over the trip the boy didn’t speak. It stayed this way for a while, until the boy suddenly spoke “Kaachan-, Todoroki-” the boy said weakly.
Sanemi was confused, he wondered who exactly these people called Kaachan and Todoroki were, perhaps his friends? Not letting the thought distract him too much, Sanemi continued to run to the butterfly mansion.
Once he got there Sanemi quickly burst into the door of the infirmary, only to see to his confusion, another Hashira in there, he was not injured, but he was looking over another kid? He didn’t pay this much mind and instead called for Shinobu “Oi Kocho, I got a brat here who needs help!”
Shinobu quickly came over, to Sanemi’s relief and checked the boy's injuries. “My, My, this boy has horrible wounds as well?” Shinobu observed, tilting her head at the boy in Sanemi’s arms.
Sanemi just watched as Shinobu continued to tilt her head in confusion as she analysed the boy's wounds, his anger growing with every moment she took to not treat the boy in his arms. “OI KOCHO YOU GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS KID OR NOT!” Sanemi snapped at Shinobu.
Shinobu quickly brought her head up to meet Sanemi’s gaze, forcefully making herself smile as to try to hide the annoyance on her face “Oh sorry for taking the time to observe the boy's wounds before blindly treating him!” Shinobu responded with obvious sarcasm “Now, come along, the boy can rest here and we will try and heal his wounds soon!” She gestured to a bed in the infirmary.
Sanemi, sporting his usual scowl, quietly walked over to the bed and carefully placed the young boy down on the bed. Then Sanemi left, leaving the sleeping boy in Shinobu’s care, while Shinobu, clearly confused on why the Wind Hashira didn’t stay with the boy but shrugged it off as she started to treat the young boy’s broken limbs.

Kyojuro Rengoku was hoping to have a normal day, well at least as normal as you could have while working for the demonslayer corps. But this went out the window when he saw a kid lying on the side of the road, with horrid burn marks all over his body and candy cane hair? Rengoku quickly looked around to see the person responsible for this boy's condition. But no one was around. Having not seen anyone, he picked up the boy and started to run to the Butterfly mansion so that this boy could be treated.
Luckily Rengoku wasn’t far away from the Butterfly Hashira’s abode so it took about 5 minutes to get there. As soon as he set foot in the abode Shinobu had already come to greet the Flame Hashira. “My, my Rengoku, what happened to this boy?” Shinobu asked, her face tilting in wonder.
“Sorry Miss Kocho but I have no idea about what has happened to this boy, I just found him on the side of the road with these injuries.” The Flame Hashira responded “Could you please take care of his wounds?”
Without another word Shinobu quickly grabbed the young boy with candy cane hair from Rengoku’s arms and took him to the infirmary. That day Rengoku stayed at the Butterfly mansion for hours, watching as 2 other kids were brought in by Sanemi and Gyomei respectively and he watched as the one Gyomei brought in woke up in an outburst then quickly fell back asleep. Rengoku couldn’t help but wonder, did these three kids know each other?
4 Months Later
Izuku felt tired, fatigued and useless. He wasn’t able to save his friend from being stabbed and on top of that, he passed out before he could finish the fight. Izuku knew that he was unconscious for a long time, obviously due to his wounds, but he also felt uneasy. He felt like this place he was at was unfamiliar to him. Over time Izuku, though unconscious, could still feel his body healing itself. Then one day, Izuku felt his eyes start to open and he could see the sunlight flood his vision. The coma he was in had lasted a long time and due to it he hadn’t been exposed to sunlight yet so when he opened his eyes and he let the light flood them he was blinded for a second, he then looked around, and noticed something. He wasn’t at a hospital, he was at a country house? And his friends were here too? Now why would the heroes have sent them here to recover, he didn’t know, but he hoped that all his questions would be answered sooner rather than later.
Katsuki Bakugou was confused. He knew that he had fallen unconscious during the fight with Shigaraki after he had been impaled by the spikes. He also remembered waking up soon after that and saw a random man looking over him while reciting a prayer, in what seemed to be a cottage? In confusion he yelled at the man and then fell into a coma. Now he was awake, still in pain, though in a much better state. He had woken up in an infirmary, in the same cottage from last time. He looked around, and saw his classmates Deku and Icy-Hot lying in beds beside him, but they weren’t the only people he saw. He noticed that a young girl around his age was tidying up the room they were in. The girl had her hair in a ponytail on each side with a butterfly hair clip on the back of her head. Suddenly the girl turned towards him and let out a loud gasp “MISS SHINOBU, ONE OF THE BOYS ARE AWAKE!”
Bakugou could feel his sweat drop from his face as he watched the young girl speed off out of the room, supposedly to bring the so-called ‘Miss Shinobu’ to check up on him. He felt like getting up and going to train, but his wounds still stung into his body with the pain of 1000 knives. So with a growl, the young pomeranian looking boy sank back into his bed.
It was a quiet day, and Shinobu had no missions anytime soon, so she decided to start working on some new poisons. Everything was calm, till Aoi yelled out in shock “MISS SHINOBU, ONE OF THE BOYS ARE AWAKE!” She then heard the thump of footsteps rushing towards her and before she knew it, her door burst open.
“Ara, Ara Aoi, please do think about knocking before you enter.” Shinobu responded with her usual tone.
“I’m sorry Miss Shinobu,” Aoi responded “But one of the boys has woken up!”
Shinobu’s smile went away for a second, having been shocked. She quickly put back up her smile and followed her trainee to the infirmary. There she saw the blonde haired boy lying down like before, but his eyes were open, he was awake. She walked over to the bed of the boy and leaned over him, “Why hello there!” Shinobu greeted the now awake blond boy.
“OI MIND YOUR OWN SPACE YOU IDIOT!” the blond boy yelled right into Shinobu’s ear. This really annoyed Shinobu but she didn’t let it show.
“My, My, you're an angry one aren’t you!” Shinobu not so subtly teased the blond boy who now looked more enraged than before. “Now then, please let me check your wounds to see how they are doing.”
The blond boy simply gritted his teeth and seethed in disapproval towards Shinobu “HEY DIDN’T I TELL YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE, WHO ARE YOU ANYWAYS!” The blond boy screeched at the Insect Pillar.
Shinobu smiled “Who I am doesn’t matter, What matters is you learning some manners and perhaps taking kindly to those who are trying to help you” she responded coldly, now emanating pure anger, which caused the blond to flinch for a second “Now then, please do let me check your injuries.” With a grumble, the young blond relented and pulled up his shirt so she could check over his wounds.
Shinobu first removed the bandages that she had put on not too long ago and examined the wounds, she rebandaged the wounds before forcing the blond to lay back down on the bed.
Next to Shinobu, was Aoi, who was assisting her with the treatment. Once the bandages were put away, the two butterfly girls returned to where the blond was being forced to rest. They both gazed at each other, and without words, communicated what they were thinking. Aoi looked towards the patient once again, and asked the question on both of their minds, “Who are you? And how on earth did you get those injuries?”
The blond boy glared at her, “DO YOU SERIOUSLY NOT RECOGNISE ME” He yelled at them. The two women simply shook their heads, “I’M KATSUKI BAKUGOU HERO IN TRAINING, AND I’M GOING TO BE THE NEXT NUMBER 1 HERO!”
Shinobu and Aoi sweatdropped at the blonds enthusiasm and at their own confusion. “A hero? Do you mean a Demon Slayer?” Shinobu asked the angry boy, now having been identified to be Katsuki Bakugou.
“THE FUCKS A DEMON SLAYER!” The boy named Bakugou yelled. Shinobu was confused, obviously Demon Slayers weren’t recognised by the government and therefore no one outside of the corps who had never encountered a demon even knew them. But Shinobu was sure that the blond boy had been attacked by a demon. No human would have been able to inflict wounds of this calibre, right?
She was silent for a moment, before she heard an unfamiliar voice “Where am I?” Shinobu quickly turned to the direction the voice came from. There, sitting up in the infirmary, was a green bushy haired boy, the one that Sanemi brought in. What were the chances? Two of the same boys who were brought in on the same day, had woken up on the same day too. Needless to say, Shinobu was intrigued.
“DEKU” She heard the boy named Bakugou say, She assumed he was saying it to the green haired boy, meaning that her hypothesis that the three boys knew each other was correct. At least for the two boys that is.
“KAACHAN!” the boy labelled Deku said, Shinobu noticed him starting to cry a bit “YOU’RE OK, I THOUGHT SHIGARAKI’S SPIKES WOULD’VE KILLED YOU FOR SURE!” Shigaraki? Who was that? A demon they fought? Shinobu decided to let the two of them talk before inquiring further on the topic.
“HUH DEKU YOU THINK I’M THAT WEAK!” the boy known as Bakugou yelled.
“WHEN DID I EVER SAY THAT KAACHAN, ANYWAYS THAT'S IRRELEVANT, DO YOU KNOW WHERE WE ARE!” The boy labelled Deku yelled.
“I DON’T KNOW ALL I KNOW IS THAT THESE TWO GIRLS DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HEROES AND THEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT DEMON SLAYERS. YOU’RE THE NERD, TELL ME!”
The green haired boy stopped yelling, and tilted his head in confusion “Huh, Demon Slayers? Hmm I don’t think I know anything about them. Maybe they’re a different kind of hero who thinks of villains as demons and they would supposedly ‘slay’ them for justice and…” The green haired boy continued to mutter on and on about theHeroes and Demon Slayers for a good minute.
Eventually everyone was getting a bit sick of it, but Shinobu didn’t really mind, in fact she thought it was incredible how with one small thing the boy could think of many possibilities as to the meaning of the words. The boy continued muttering until the blond boy cut him off “DEKU SHUT UP!”
The green haired boy immediately stopped muttering, “Sorry Kaachan.” He apologised.
“No need to apologise” Shinobu said to the boy, “In fact, it's amazing how you analysed the words I said in immense detail! That's a great skill to have.” Upon saying that, Shinobu saw the green haired boy immediately flushed red and looked away stuttering.
“CAN WE STOP TALKING LIKE WE’RE ALL PALS! WE DON’T EVEN KNOW YOU EXTRAS!” Bakugou pointed an accusing finger towards Shinobu.
“Oh my apologies” She said to the blond “My name is Shinobu Kocho. I am a Demon Slayer and the Insect Hashira, one of 9 Hashira’s in the Corps.”
The two boys simply stared at Shinobu with blank faces. “May I ask a question.” A new voice chimed in.
Shinobu, like everyone else in the room, immediately turned around, only to find the Candy Cane haired kid looking at Shinobu in confusion. “Ara, Ara, all the boys woke up at the same time!” Shinobu said, shocked as to how this happened, wondering if it was coincidence or just fate.
She then observed the three boys as they all looked at each other, a sense of familiarity coming from the three. She was right! Shinobu silently cheered at the realisation that her theory was correct, the three boys all knew each other! The candy cane haired boy spoke up again, his voice breaking Shinobu out of her trance, “About my question?”
“Yes, you may ask anything you would like to know!” She smiled at the boy.
“What are demon slayers?”
“Well..” Shinobu started, giggling to herself as she saw all 3 of the boys listening intently, “Demon Slayers, are basically what the names entails. People who slay demons”
“What exactly are demons?” The Candy Cane haired boy asked.
“They’re monsters.” Shinobu said simply.
“What do you mean by that?”
Shinobu’s tone turned dark as she started to explain “Demons are carnivorous beings who need to feast on human flesh to survive. They are able to come back from any injury, even loss of limbs, they also have infinite stamina and superhuman strength. Demons have been around for more than 1000 years, when the first demon, and the demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji appeared.” Shinobu noted the change in expression on the blond and green boys' faces upon hearing the words demon king, “Demons are basically immortal in the sense that they don’t age and that as long as they eat human flesh, they will continue to survive, on top of this, by consuming more humans they in turn gain more power and obtain a power called a blood demon art. A blood demon art is an ability demons can obtain that lets them use their blood to perform feats of magic such as bursting out fire from their limbs or blasting explosions from their palms.” As she said that, both the blond and candy cane teens tensed up.
“Excuse me” The green haired boy asked, “How do you ‘slay’ demons if they’re basically immortal and have superhuman strength?”
“Ahh, yes. Even though Demons are near immortal, there are a few ways of killing them. One of them being the sun.”
“The sun?” The blond asked incredulously, “How can the sun kill them? Is a simple sunburn deadly to them?”
Shinobu smiled and continued “Not exactly, you see, demons can’t go into the sun, or else they’ll burn to death!” All three boys immediately looked unsettled at the smile Shinobu had on her face while saying that. “Another way of killing them is by beheading them with a special sword, made from a metal that is found high in the mountains that can absorb sunlight.” The three boys seemed to get even more unsettled from that information. “The third and final way of killing them is a unique method I made myself. You see, I do not have the strength to behead demons, so instead I have made a poison that is deadly to demons that I inject them with using my special sword along with my own unique breathing technique!”
“Um, what's a breathing technique?” The green haired boy inquired, seemingly intrigued.
“Ah” she clapped her hands together, “Thank you for reminding me! Basically, in order to combat a demon's strength, the demon slayer corps found a way to increase your body's physical capabilities by breathing, we call this total concentration breathing! Demon slayers use total concentration breathing along with their swords to perform special moves called breathing techniques. These techniques were created to give us an edge over demons. There are a lot of different breathing styles people in the corps use.”
The green haired boy stared at her in amazement while the other two also looked at her, though with less interest, causing Shinobu to giggle.
Izuku was both incredibly scared and amazed. Demons were real, at least in this place, and humans were able to fight them off using a special type of breathing? Needless to say, Izuku was fascinated. He wanted to learn more about these breathing techniques and he was sure his friends wanted to as well. But something bugged him, obviously the people not knowing about heroes, when the whole world should know about them, but also, everything seemed really old. Not old in everything seemed rundown and dusty, but old in that it didn’t seem to be at all like the modern world today. Izuku then had a thought, it was a stretch, but perhaps it was why everything seemed strange here. “Hey Miss, Do you know what year it is?”
The girl looked at Izuku and what she said confirmed his fears, “We’re in the Taisho Era, in 1912. Why do you ask?” She inquired, but Izuku didn’t respond. He now understood why no one here knew about heroes. They were in a new world, one where heroes didn’t exist, and demons weren’t just a myth.
