Bright lights flash by In a haze as the bus navigated the crowded streets that were bustling with life and shop. Hollers and shouts from street markets, that tried to persuade passers by to buy what they offered, faded into nothingness- like a whisper in the wind. Shining lights of hues of gold, amber and ruby flooded the soft white walls of the street shops, each sign becoming you to join the timeless void inside…
Time seemed to slowdown as the bus slowly trudged out the lively town centre and into the calm, quiet and peaceful country side…
Gentle music filled her ears, singing a somg of old like a sirens cry- sweet yet crude, each note and word falling harshly from her headphones like a magnificent and grand waterfall.
Soft chimes rang through the bus as the hours ticked by, the bus slowly emptied, one by one each rider Turing in for the night till only the driver was left to run the never ending time loop… again… and again… and again…
Cold and lonely, the old bus traveled through the barren streets till once more it returned to the once lively town centre, where lights were dull and streets empty.
Harsh bells blared in the silence as the bus reversed into its own bed in the ageing station, ready to rest for the night…
Amber rays of sun hugged the sleeping town as the soft sounds of engines broke the calm and quiet silence. Birds chirped their sweet melodies, waking the sleeping town. As the old bus began its journey once again through the town centre, battered lights slowly flickered to life, blinking the sleep out of its eye. Aroma of coffee drifted up and down in the morning air, as the car and few early birds stumbled groggily to work, hopping on the aged bus- like a zombi that’s just rose from its grave.
Golden sunlight glared down at the compact bus, people getting in and of- fanning them self to keep cool from the scorching heat.
A continuous cycle of getting on and off till dusk clouded the sky- as though Artemis was pushing her twin Apollo out of the sky- as the insignificant bus emptied once more, just as the moon rose high in the sky…
