Replacement Plushies

Summary:

Mindless domestic fluff about Kirishima Eijirou and Bakugou Katsuki.

Work Text:

Bakugou had a problem.

His side of the bed had numerous plushies that did not belong to him but to Kirishima to the point where he couldn’t sleep on his side of the bed.

At first, Kirishima just had one or two plushies. One of Crimson Riot and another of an alligator because according to Kiri the alligator was the manliest of animals because they have tough skin and big, sharp teeth. Whether Kiri realized the irony or not, the alligator plushie lived on the bed.

Next thing Bakugou knew, there were more plushies than bed space and of course, they all migrated to his side of the bed.

While they had a California king-sized bed, as they were both big, bulky heroes, the entire right side of the bed was full of plushies of varying sizes and shapes. There were the huge Disney Stitch Squishmallows from Costco, and small plushies like a small black dragon with purple eyes that Kiri saw at Walmart and had to have.

The point is there were a lot of plushies and no room for Bakugou.

Bakugou sidled up to Kirishima where he was playing Mario Kart on the couch in their living room/gaming room.

“So Kiri, are you trying to replace me with plushies? Or is this a hint to sleep on the couch?”

Kirishima whipped his head around as an explosion made his kart go berserk on screen. “What?! I’m not trying to replace you! I like having you close next to me when I sleep and I cuddle with all the plushes when you're on night shift so I don't feel as alone.”

Bakugou softened at the explanation. He came around the couch and plopped himself as close to Kirishima as possible, laying his head in the crook between Kiri’s shoulder and head as he spoke softly into Kiri’s ear.

“I like sleeping close to you too. And I’m glad you have something to comfort you when I’m gone but I might move a few off the bed at night so we have more room.”

“Fine, but I’m going to keep buying more when I feel like it,” Kiri said huffily.

Bakugou laughed softly, “Buy as many as you want.”

Needless to say, the plushies continued to find a new home on Bakugou’s side of the bed but it no longer irritated him but made him smile instead.
