Need To Know

Summary:

Everyone is out watching Maddie and Chimney sing karaoke. Then, it's Eddie's turn (he didn't sign up) and he's singing Need To Know by Doja Cat (a song he knows word for word) and ends up flirting with Buck through lap dances.

Inspired by "Need To Know" by Doja Cat (duh)

Notes:

Woo! I'm on a roll! Another fanfic! The holidays will do that for you! This one is just a little fun one, and would never happen, but we know that Eddie Diaz has the moves so! Enjoy

Work Text:

“Do you think this place is tired of Chimney and Maddie coming here and singing all the time?” Eddie says, placing a ton of beers in front of Buck, Karen  and Hen. He takes the chair by Buck, their knees naturally knocking into each other. Buck ignores the feeling he feels, like he has been doing for a while whenever Eddie and him accidentally touch, or even purposefully touch. Buck doesn’t want to ruin his friendship with Eddie, he can’t. He’ll lose too much.

“No. Chim is in good cahoots with the owner. Apparently he revitalized the karaoke scene here.” Hen says, laughing. “Good for him.”

“Yeah, good for him. I couldn’t imagine doing that. Getting up, singing in front of people. Having that confidence.” Eddie says, taking a swig of his beer.

“You had the confidence to dance half naked in your living room-“ Buck starts and Eddie kicks him under the table. Buck just laughs.

“-You said you wouldn’t bring it up, and also, I was alone. Different type of confidence.” Eddie says, glaring at Buck. Buck just shoots him a smile.

“Well, I don’t know Eddie, maybe a stroke of confidence will come for you tonight.” Karen says, wiggling her eyebrows.

“I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean, but sure Karen.” Eddie says, shooting her a weird look.

“I don’t know, Karen can be onto something.” Hen says, smiling at Karen. Buck and Eddie are staring at the couple with a “What the fuck” look.

Chimney and Maddie’s song rounds out, and they make their way back to the crew.

“Woo! I’m feeling electrified!” Chimney says, grabbing an untouched beer and taking a long drink. “I could go again.”

“You have to give other people a chance here Chim.” Maddie says, wiping her forehead. “And a chance for me to catch my breath.”

“There isn’t that many people here.” Buck says, looking around. “I wonder who’s next.”

“Okay, we have an Eddie Diaz next on deck.” The karaoke announcer, well, announces. Eddie’s eyes widen, and he turns his body to the stage, and then back to the crew.

“Um?” Eddie says, looking at his friends. Karen and Hen are snickering in the corner, with Maddie trying her best holding back a laugh. Only Chim and Buck look confused.

“Well, they called your name Diaz. Go on! Sing your little heart out.” Hen says.

“You suck. What song am I even singing?” Eddie asks. Hen shrugs her shoulder (she totally knows)

“Guess you have to go up to find out.” Karen says, smiling.

Eddie takes a deep sigh, and shoves out of his chair. He goes to the stage and grabs the mic from the announcer. As soon as he does, the music starts and the familiar beat can’t help but make Eddie laugh.

He knew telling Hen one of his guilty pleasures is Doja Cat. But he, Karen and Hen were drunk one night, and it just slipped out and he has immense, immense regret about that coming out.

He also, is remembering, he let it slip that he may or may not be in love with Buck that night, and that made Hen and Karen sober up quickly.

“You, what?” Hen shakes her head, sets her wine cup down and takes her glasses off.

“Yeah, figured it out at some point when he was helping me look for houses in Texas, long story, and we were sitting on the couch and I was thinking so much about getting Christopher back I wasn’t thinking about what I would leave, if I left…” Eddie says, lying on Karen and Hen’s very nice rug in their living room. “And I was thinking, well I have the 118, I have a nice place here, I have so much to do in LA, so much to say, so much to experience, people to fall in love with, or have already fallen in love with, which is crazy cause I can’t be in love with Buck but when you think about it, it makes so much sense-“

“Okay, well you have to tell him!” Karen says, standing up “Ooh, head rush. Sitting back down.”

“I can’t. I don’t want to ruin what we have.”
“Oh Eddie. Don’t worry. Mama Hen and Mama Karen will help you.” Hen says, kicking Eddie with her foot.

“I don’t like the sound of that.” Eddie says.

And now we get back to here, at this bar, with Doja Cat’s “Need To Know” playing on the TV and speakers.

And unfortunately for everyone, Eddie Diaz knows each word.

Yeah

Wanna know what it's like (like)

Baby, show me what it's like (like)

Eddie starts off a little shy, but when he gets to-

I don't really got no type (type)

I just wanna fuck all night

He’s moving his hips to the music, taking the mic off the stand, and moving across the stage.

Fortunately for Buck, Eddie knows all the words.

He doesn’t know if it’s the song itself, or if it’s because Eddie is singing it, or if it’s because Eddie is singing a very sexual song and is someone only looking at Buck while singing.

But Buck is…incredibly…incredibly turned on by what’s happening.

Yeah-yeah, oh-whoa-whoa (oh, ooh, mmm)

Baby, I need to know, mmm (yeah, need to know)

Eddie makes his way off the stage and to his friends, a surge of confidence taking over and he’s unsure where it’s coming from (Screw you Hen and Karen) but he’s gonna take advantage of it.

I just been fantasizin' (size)

Eddie walks over to Chimney, ruffles his hair.

And we got a lotta time (time)

Baby, come throw the pipe (pipe)

Eddie points to Hen and Karen, rolling his head as he does. They can’t help but laugh.

Gotta know what it's like (like)

Maddie grabs on to Eddie’s arm that’s outstretched and laughs at whatever move he is doing.

Yeah-yeah, oh-whoa-whoa

Baby, I need to know, mmm

Eddie finally, finally makes his way to Buck, fully turns his chair around so that he’s facing out. Eddie kicks Buck’s legs apart and Buck lets them easily fall open for him.

What's your size? (Size)

Eddie winks at Buck before dropping to his knees in front of Buck, one of his hands grabbing onto Buck’s thigh for balance. Buck can feel his breathing getting irregular, and he needs Eddie to not get any closer to him when he’s in that position cause he’s not gonna be able to help what happens if-

Add, subtract, divide ('vide)

Daddy don't throw no curves (curves)

Hold up, I'm goin' wide (wide)

Eddie moves closer to the inside of Buck’s thighs, fully on his knees. Buck now just realizes that the Hen and Karen are sining the adlibs on the song.

We could just start at ten (ten)

Then we can go to five (five)

Eddie’s hand that was on Buck’s thigh moves up slightly, going straight past Buck’s dick and it finds itself at the top of Buck’s jeans, Eddie uses that grip to stand up seductively, leaving no distance between him and Buck.

I don't play with my pen (pen)

I mean what I write

Yeah-yeah, whoa-whoa-whoa

I just can't help but be sexual (whoa)

Tell me your schedule (yeah)

Eddie turns his body around, and Buck’s eyes naturally fall on Eddie’s ass. And he doesn’t even realize it, but Eddie’s ass is getting closer to his lap, and he’s on Buck’s lap

I got a lotta new tricks for you, baby

Just sayin' I'm flexible (I will)

Eddie is fully just giving Buck a lap dance now, grinding his ass into Buck’s lap, and Buck is willing, willing everything that he doesn’t get hard, he’s trying so hard right now. Because, he doesn’t want to think that Eddie is doing it to flirt with Buck or to make an advance on Buck, but because it’s silly and funny to do this.

I do what I can to get you off (I will)

Eddie grabs one of Buck’s arms, especially because Buck hasn’t moved this entire time, and places it on his chest. Buck immediately starts moving that hand on Eddie’s chest, and you know what, fuck it. His other hands find it’s way to Eddie’s thigh, gripping him in a totally friendly way.

Might just fuck him with my makeup on (I will)

Eat it like I need an apron on (yeah, ay)

Eat it 'til I need to change my thong (yeah, ay)

We could do it to your favorite song (yeah, ay)

Eddie stands up, goes back to the stage and dos some of the singing, but he is staring at Buck the entire time.

Take a ride into the danger zone

You know my man be buggin' me

I just be wonderin' if you can fuck on me better

Another wink.

Itchin' for me like an ugly sweater

Need it in me like a Chuck E. need cheddar

I need to know (yeah)

When Eddie sings the chorus again, Buck is trying to figure out what just happened in the last minute and thirty seconds even though it felt like a lot longer. Again, he’s not trying to get delusional, but what was that? Eddie is being extremely flirty, and this goes beyond some of their touches at the firehouse or when they’re alone.

You're exciting, boy, come find me

Eddie walks back over, his eye contact not leaving Buck’s face

maneuvers his legs over Buck’s hips and now he’s straddling Buck.

Your eyes told me, "Girl, come ride me"

As he’s singing that line, Eddie goes to sit down on Buck’s lap again, but only this time, he’s facing inwards, aka he’s now straddling Buck.

Eddie holds intense eye contact with Buck during this, slowly rolling his hips, his free arm going to Buck’s shoulder, gripping it tightly.

Fuck that feeling both us fighting

Buck’s hands are on Eddie’s waist, pressing in deeper and deeper with each roll of Eddie’s hips. Buck pushes his hips up, testing, waiting. Eddie smiles, cocks his head to the side.

Could he try me? (Yeah) mmm, most likely

Eddie grabs Buck’s hand, moves it to his ass.

Tryna see if you could handle this ass

Prolly give his ass a panic attack

Sorry if I gave a random erection

Rolls his hips again. Eddie’s hand that was on Buck’s shoulder goes to the back of Buck’s neck, tugging it back slightly. Buck lets it happen. He’s in so deep now.

Prolly thinkin' I'm a telekinetic

Oh, wait, you a fan of the magic?

Eddie leans in closer to Buck’s face, and for a second, just for a second, Buck notices where Eddie’s eyes fall, and of course the only time they break eye contact is cause Eddie decided to look at Bucks lips.

Poof, pussy like an Alakazam (yeah)

I heard from a friend of a friend

That that dick was a ten out of ten

Everyone is hollering behind Buck and Eddie, and Buck remembers that he is indeed in a bar, with his friends, and his bestest friend has been essentially giving him a lap dance for the duration of this song.

I can't stand it, just one night me

Clink with the drink, gimme a sip

Tell me what's your kink, gimme the dick

Eddie tugs Buck’s hair again.

Spank me, slap me, choke me, bite me (ew)

Uh, wait, I can take it (ah)

Give a fuck 'bout what your wifey's sayin' (yeah)

Eddie stands up, goes back to the stage for the final chorus, and Buck, who’s been holding back every single dirty thought he had for the last 3 minutes, stands up, legs wobbly.

“I’m gonna go outside.” Buck says, ignoring how his voice cracks and makes his quick exit to the door.

The chill air hits him in the face, which he is grateful for. He slows his breathing down, looking at the flickering lamp post in front of him.

He hears the door open and close and he is still staring at the lamp post.

“Maddie, I’m fine. I’ll be back in a second.”

“Hey.” Buck turns his head to see Eddie standing there.

“Oh, hey.”

Eddie moves to stand completely in front of Buck.

“I’m sorry, about…all of that. You know how much I love Doja Cat.” Eddie says, waving his hands around.

“Oh yeah, I get it. Don’t worry about it. Just you having fun. It’s in the nature of the song, I guess. We feel comfortable with me, makes sense you would’ve performed that with me, would’ve been weird on Maddie, maybe you could’ve gotten away with it on Karen or Hen or hell even Chimney but-“

“-Buck-“

“-And like that song is very sexually charged so like of course you would do a lap dance and all of that and be like very seductive while you were doing it-“

“-Buck hey-“ Eddie is moving closer to him and Buck already has his back pressed up against the wall so he can’t go anywhere. Eddie grabs Buck’s moving hands, bringing them down.

“-And I didn’t want to think too much about it, because you’re you and I’m me and I love our friendship, you have to know that, I love everything about it, and I know my dreams of us being together in a different away-“

“-Buck! I gave you a very sexual lap dance on purpose. I’ve been crazy about you for a while.” Eddie says.

“Oh. Oh. Well, that makes this a little easier then.” Buck says, smiling. “I’m in love with you Eddie. I think it happened sometime after you got shot, and yeah we both had partners during and after that and I always thought, you know what Buck, this will pass, this isn’t real, Eddie isn’t even into guys-“

“-I’m so into guys. Well, especially, one guy in particular.” Eddie says, smiling. “Can I kiss you?” Eddie asks, tilting his head.

Yes.” Buck almost melts. One of Eddie’s hands go up to Buck’s face, cradling his cheek as he slowly leans in.

“I love you too. If it wasn’t obvious.” Eddie says before finally connecting their lips.

It’s quick, it’s chaste, it’s ironically, not dirty how that lap dance was. And Buck is happy with it. He’ll be happy with anything that Eddie decides to give him.

“I’ve been wanting to do that…for so long.” Eddie says. “And you know, I know Doja Cat wrote those lyrics but…I did mean them.” Eddie skims his finger underneath Buck’s shirt.

“Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yes.” Buck says, kissing Eddie again, harder, more desperate this time. Eddie groans into the kiss, letting his body fall in Buck’s even more. Buck licks into Eddie’s mouth, and Eddie lets him, their tongues finally getting to explore one another, Buck’s hand roaming to Eddie’s ass, pressing him closer.
“I mean, I did hear that dick is a ten out of ten.” Eddie says. Buck laughs into Eddie’s mouth.

“Alright. Let’s go prove it.”
