Work Text:
A particularly intense spat results in Jimmy not answering his phone. Curly hadn't thought the fight was that big a deal but after a week of nothing he's growing more and more concerned, until Jimmy asks to meet in a park nearby his place at night.
He's desperate to make up so he shows up without question. He hoped this was all because Jim wanted privacy but couldn’t let him ‘win’ by coming to his place to talk.
He shows up and sees no one.
He's about to grab his phone for a light but some moving shadows in front of him are making these wet groaning sounds. He really hopes it's some stupid teenagers fucking.
Suddenly convinced Jimmy could be in some kind of danger, he pursues the noise.
Continuing to peer past the trees, he finds Jim. Knelt in the mud with his face in a man’s crotch, clinging to his pant legs and moaning in a way he never has with Curly.
He can’t leave. The need to confront him, after this betrayal, was even stronger.
It’s almost guaranteed they knew he was there, and they did not stop. He has no choice but to listen and wait for the sign that it’s all finally over.
After minutes of them going on and on, he begins to cry as quietly as he can bare.
The ensuing ‘discussion’ leaves Curly feeling even more hopeless than before. Jim’s face is still red, and he made sure the stranger came on his clothes so Curly could smell him.
He pointedly tells Curly that he made him do this. That he takes him for granted and doesn’t understand how easy it would be for him to leave. That he needs Jimmy more than Jimmy needs him.
And Curly believes him.
