Chapter Text
Kumori Tenki is only twenty six, but was only twenty years old when he moved out of his parents house and took his baby sister with him. He bought a two bedroom, one bathroom house with a small kitchen and living room. It's been six years and they were able to move to a house similar, but with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Kumori was a fair height, white hair with blue eyes. His hair isn't long and it quite short. He wears baggy clothes and used to work at a poor restaurant before joining the league. His little sister, Kiri, is six years old, had white/blue hair with red eyes. She developed her quirk on her birthday. Her quirk is Gas Manipulation, allowing her to manipulate any type of gas (which is a pain when it's taco night).
Kiri loves heroes and owns many types of figurines. Her favorites are Mirko and Ryukyu. She carries those figurines everywhere. She's easily entertained and pretty mature for her age. She's able to make herself food (no stove though) and keep herself occupied while Kumori goes out for groceries.
One night, Kumori was walking with Kiri down the street. It was raining so Kumori had his own umbrella while Kiri had her own smaller umbrella. They were holding hands, Kiri having a small bookbag on her back. She didn't go to school, she was homeschooled. Kiri didn't know about the league. Kumori kept her oblivious, not wanting her to worry. They were walking to a small restaurant for late night dinner. When they got inside, they closed their umbrellas, set them in the little umbrella holder by the door and walked to the front.
Kumori told them his name for the pickup order and they sat down to wait. The restaurant was backed up so it would take a bit of a wait. They sat down at one of the bench like tables, sitting across another. Kumori propped himself up with his elbows on the table, hands on his cheeks.
"Excited Kiri? I made sure to order your favorite," Kumori said.
Kiri nodded.
"Yeah! It's been so long since we got this. I missed it," She said.
Kumori chuckled softly.
"We're gonna stop by the dessert shop on the way back. I ordered us something from there too," Kumori said.
Kiri's eyes beamed. She smiled happily.
"Really!? Wow, thanks Kumo!" Kiri said.
Kumori put his arms down so they were resting on the table.
"So, your birthday is coming up. Anything in particular you want?" Kumori asked.
Kiri hummed as she started thinking. Kumori figured she would want some hero merch. Probably another figurine.
"I saw a cool All Might figure," Kiri mentioned. "I'm not to sure about it. He looks cool."
"Did you see the price?"
Kiri shook her head. She doesn't seem to check prices on things much.
"It's probably over ten bucks at best. I'll see what I can do," Kumori said, leaning back in his seat.
After awhile, his name was called. He and Kiri stood up to get their food. Kumori held the bag of food as he and Kiri went to grab their umbrellas. Since Kiri couldn't hold Kumori's hand, she simply put her hand in his pant pocket. As they walked down the street, a car pulled up next to them. They stopped walking. Kumori knew who it was as the window rolled down.
Yakedo Danganari, aka Ant Queen. A villain in the league and a sort of friend. Her quirk is Bullet Ant. It gives her the appearance of an ant, red in color. Kiri hasn't met her, and Yakedo hasn't met Kiri. Kumori figured he should introduce the two.
"Kiri, this is my co worker Yakedo. Yakedo, this is my little sister, Kiri."
Yakedo smiled. She had small mandibles on the side of her mouth. She smiled at Kiri.
"Heya kiddo, nice to meet ya," Yakedo said.
Kiri seemed nervous but she waved. Yakedo rolled up the window before stepping out of the car. She didn't mind the rain.
"I didn't know you had a lil sis," Yakedo said to Kumori.
Kumori chuckled, a bit nervous.
"She's cute. What's your quirk kid?" Yakedo knelt down to Kiri's level.
"Gas Manipulation..." Kiri said quietly.
Yakedo beamed.
"That's sick!" Yakedo said.
Kumori felt Kiris hand grip the inside of his pocket more. Kumori knew she was nervous.
"I'd love to stay and chat but we got some dinner and we're heading home. We gotta go," Kumori said.
Yakedo stood up, putting her hands on her hips.
"Sure thing. Fyi, we got a meeting with the boss tomorrow. He says you need to be there. Around lunchtime," Yakedo mentions.
Kumori nodded. He was curious about what this meeting could be about, but he was intrigued.
"I'll be there. Thanks," Kumori said.
Yakedo got back in the car and drove off. Kumori and Kiri continued their walk. They eventually got home and set their umbrellas and took off their shoes by the door. Kumori set the food on the table and Kiri went to get changed out of her raincoat. Kumori put the food they got on plates and went to the living room and set the plates on the table. Kiri came back in pajamas and her Mirko figurine. She sat on the couch and Kumori turned on some cartoons for her. He actually enjoyed the cartoons. He went to get changed himself. He walked into his room.
His room was nothing special. Dull gray walls covered in movie and band posters. His bed was in the corner and a desk on the other side of the room. There was a window on the wall opposite of the door. Kumori has pictures Kiri has drawn for him in front of his desk wall, so every time he's working, he can look up at the specially made drawings.
Kumori changed out of his raincoat and threw on a sweater. It was one Kiri designed, and he sent the design to a company to make it into an actual sweater, so it was nice. Kumori went to the living room and sat on the couch next to Kiri. She had already started to eat. They had gotten some simple takeout. They had gotten a mix of noodles, fried rice, shrimp and even a small tray of sushi. It was cheap but delicious. Kiri had a big appetite for such a small girl.
Kumori slurped up his noodles when his phone started ringing. It was a no caller ID, but he knew who it was. Kumori put the plate that was in his lap on the table and stood up.
"I gotta take a call, I'll be right back."
Kiri nodded, not taking her eyes off the TV. Kumori walked to his room and answered.
"Hey boss."
Kumori awaited an answer.
"Hello Kumori...I called to tell you about a meeting tomorrow. I need you there."
"Yakedo told me earlier. Thank you sir," Kumori mentioned.
There was a hum on the other line.
"Well then, that's good. I assume she told you the time?"
"She said around lunchtime," Kumori responded.
"Yes, preferably 12:30 AM. Can you make it? I can send a driver."
"I can call up Yakedo. I'm sure she can drive me," Kumori said.
There was another hum.
"Good. I'll see you then."
Then the call ended. Kumori put his phone in his pocket. He walked back into the living room and sat down, getting his plate and continuing to eat.
"Are you gonna be okay by yourself?" Kumori asked Kiri.
He knew the answer. He often left Kiri alone when he went to get groceries, but those only take a few minutes. This meeting could last a couple hours depending on what's being discussed.
"Yeah, I'll be fine," Kiri said.
"I'll leave you some money to order food if things take to long. It's a meeting so I can't control how long it takes," Kumori explained.
"Okay."
"And what do we do if there's an emergency?"
"Call 110 for Police or 119 for Ambulance or Fire," Kiri said.
Kumori smiled and pat her head.
"Good. If someone's breaking in?"
"Call the police and get out of the house or hide," Kiri said.
Kumori nodded.
"Good."
"I know all the emergency stuffs, you don't hafta remind me," Kiri said, shoving a piece of sushi in her mouth.
Kumori snickered.
"Alright. Just making sure."
They finished their food after ten minutes. Whatever was left over was put in the island in the kitchen. Kumori put the food in leftover containers.
"Go take a bath Kiri, I'll check on you when I'm done with this," Kumori said.
"Do I have to?"
"You're stinky, yes," Kumori said.
Kiri whined but went to the bathroom. The way their house was set up, the kitchen is on the left of the front door and the living room is right ahead. There's a hallway in between the kitchen and living room. To the right is Kumori's room, and to the left is the bathroom he uses. There's a smaller hall by Kumori's bathroom that leads to Kiri's room. There's a small bathroom attached to Kiri's room that she uses.
Kumori finished putting the leftovers in the fridge and went to check on Kiri. She was playing in the bathtub.
"You alright?"
Kiri nodded, playing with her bath toys.
"Holler if you need me," Kumori mentions.
Kumori left Kiri's room and went to his room. The walls were thin enough for Kumori to hear Kiri shout for him. Kumori laid on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. He turned his head to his bedside table. There was a framed photo of his parents and him when he was a kid, before Kiri was born.
Kumori picked the photo up and rolled on his stomach, looking at it closer. His mother was a nice woman when she wasn't on drugs or drunk. She had nice black hair that turned a curly gray. Her quirk was Heart Stopper. It allowed her to stop the heart of someone for three seconds. She had red eyes like Kiri. His father was always an asshole. White hair that turned gray like his mother's. Blue eyes, a beer belly, and a nasty attitude. His quirk was Steam. It allowed him to create steam from the pores of his skin.
The disappointed that radiated from his father when Kumori ended up quirkless was painful. His mother understood it couldn't be controlled. Though, the disappointment when Kumori came out as trans was even worse. Kumori's mother always supported him, despite her issues herself. His father on the other hand, hated Kumori after he came out. He best him horribly, and his mother was able to stop him with her quirk. She threatened to kill him if he laid another hand on her son.
Hearing her call Kumori her son after coming out warmed his heart, despite just being beaten.
When Kumori's mother and father had Kiri, Kumori was twenty. That's when their drug and alcohol problems got worse. Kiri was born with drugs in her system, despite his mother trying her best to be clean. But stress got to her and she couldn't handle it. Kiri was able to recover and was taken out of their custody. Kumori moved out and took Kiri in his care. He was able to work until joining the league.
Kumori looked at himself in the picture. Back when he was a little girl. His hair in braids, wearing a decent dress with frilled sleeves and a puffy skirt. The fake smiles in the photo was painful to see. The patchy makeup that covered bruises on everyone's faces was to obvious. Kumori sighed. He put the photo back on his bedside table.
The rain was hitting the window pretty hard. He didn't even realize how much time had went by when Kiri yelled for him. She finished her bath. Kumori got up to help Kiri dry and and get dressed. He put her to bed, giving her a kiss on the forehead, which she wiped off and said "eeeeww". It didn't hurt Kumori's feelings. It was funny.
He went back to his room and changed his clothes. He slipped into pajamas, but before he did, he took off his chest binder. He wasn't able to afford top surgery yet. Only one person knew, and it was another trans member. It's how he got his testosterone. He put his chest binder on the desk. His bust wasn't large. It was still pretty small. Then, he put on pajamas. He got into bed, set his alarm and tried to fall asleep.
The next morning, Kumori woke up, put his binder on before getting dressed, made breakfast before waking Kiri up. Kiri enjoyed her breakfast, which was some simple Japanese dishes. After breakfast, Kumori washed the dishes while Kiri went to brush her teeth and brush her hair. She came back to the kitchen.
"Kiri, remember, I have a meeting around lunchtime. I'll leave you my card so you can order something. Don't go overboard, got it?" Kumori said.
Kiri nodded.
"Yup!" Kiri gave him a thumbs up.
Kumori smiled. They sat on the couch and played with toys until the meeting time. Kumori left his card on the table and left. Kiri was mature enough to be left alone. She had a tablet that had some restrictions, though she had access to food apps. Kumori texted Yakedo to pick him up. It didn't take long for her to pop up. They drove to the L.O.V base, Yakedo blasting music the whole time. When they arrived, they went to the meeting room. They were the first ones. And...the only ones?
They sat down at the seats. It was a long table in the middle of the room with chairs surrounding it. There was a bigger chair at the very end of the table that was the big man's chair.
Kumori and Yakedo sat at the other end of the table, opposite of the boss chair. The door behind them suddenly opened and they turned around.
There stood their boss.
All for One.
