Cloud waited patiently in an uncomfortable seat outside the lab, nervousness and excitement swirled in his stomach, in a few moments he would be a SOLDIER 3rd class. It took a few years of training for him to reach his full potential but it would all be worth it soon.
A young man poked his head out of the lab, breaking Cloud out of his thoughts.
Looking down at his clipboard the man speaks.
“Cloud Strife? Doctor Crescent is ready for you now.”
Cloud nods at the lab assistant and follows him into the room.
Making their way over to an empty medical table the man gestures for him to make himself comfortable.
As Cloud sits down and looks around the room, the first thing he sees is the professor, Sephiroth Crescent, back to him as he sorts through some files on the opposite side of the room.
Two years ago, Rufus took over the company as president after his father, shortly after his inauguration large investigations shed light on the company’s inhumane practices, their greed and the sheer destruction they caused the planet.
After so many lives were ruined under the guidance of Professor Hojo he was removed from the company and locked away for life.
Ever since the Shinra Electric Company has done its utmost to help the families involved and get back in the good graces of the public.
Sephiroth, having been raised as an experiment under Hojo wanted to do his part in helping those left behind, on top of being exceptionally inteligent he had spent his whole life in the labs with Hojo, in just two years he was able to take over the labs, and completely turn around the SOLDIER program into something that cares for its people rather than using them up and disposing of them.
Cloud is still a little awe struck at the man, his childhood hero not only being exceptional on the battlefield but also smart and kind enough to lead the medical SOLDIER program as well.
Physically Sephiroth stood as tall as ever, hair tied back in a high ponytail, some strands escaping to frame his face, the white labcoat different from what Cloud was used to but still managed to look like a model wearing it.
Cloud found his cheeks flushing slightly at his train of thought, quickly trying to snap himself out of it and back to the task at hand as he saw Sephiroth making his way over to him.
When the professor reaches Cloud he gives him a friendly smile and begins a run through of formalities.
“Hello Cloud, I’m Dr Crescent, you may call me as such or simply Sephiroth.”
Sephiroth extends his hand to Cloud in greeting.
Cloud grasps his hand, surprised momentarily to not feel leather gloves before realizing that working in a lab meant Sephiroth no longer required them.
“It’s nice to meet you, Dr Crescent.” Cloud responds with a small smile, hoping he doesnt sound as nervous as he feels.
“Zack has spoken highly of you on several occasions Cloud, he’s given me prior warning to treat you exceptionally well today.” Sephiroth says with a small laugh.
The mention of Zack eases Cloud’s tension somewhat and he manages a half grimace half pout at the doctor before speaking.
“If it’s Zack doing the talking I don’t think I want to know what he’s saying about me..”
Sephiroth chuckles a little behind his clipboard before straightening up into a more profesional posture and attitude.
“As you know, you’re here today for a general examination, your first Mako treatment and your introduction to SOLDIER, I’ll explain what I’m doing every step of the way but please ask if you have any uncertainties or questions.”
“Yes sir.”
Sephiroth nods at the blonde and turns to the lab assistant from earlier, looking quickly at the time on a watch he fetched from his lab coat pocket.
“If everything is cleaned and restocked for tomorrow you may depart for the evening Marcus.”
The lab assistant ‘Marcus’ hands his clipboard to Sephiroth.
“Everything is finished Dr Crescent, stock levels are listed here and Mr Strife has been checked in on the system.”
Sephiroth nods satisfied.
“Thank you, I will see you on Monday then.”
The assistant walks over to the exit and swipes his keycard, waving them goodnight. The door closes after him, leaving Cloud and Sephiroth alone.
Sephiroth focuses his attention back on Cloud.
“You’re the last patient of the evening Cloud, there’s no rush but probably best we get right to it. When you’re comfortable I'll need you to remove your clothes and put on the medical gown next to you on the bed. If you're able to change just behind the screen please.”
“..uhh sure, yeah.” Cloud mumbles awkwardly as he grabs the gown and makes his way behind the privacy screen.
In his youth Cloud had thought of being naked around Sephiroth many times, although not really in the way it actually turned out, he smiles a little at the humor of the situation as he removes his cadet uniform, folding it neatly on a nearby stool.
When he’s removed all but his underwear he hesitates a little, looking up but seeing nothing but the screen, he quickly brings the medical gown down over his head and makes sure it’s on correctly before walking back around to Sephiroth.
Looking over to him as he walks round Sephiroth glances at him, satisfied his instructions were met.
“If you could sit back on the bed, Cloud, facing me.”
Cloud lifts himself back onto the bed, arms behind him, awkwardly looking anywhere but at the doctor.
“Alright Cloud, I’m going to check your eyes, this will be bright briefly but try to keep your eyes straight ahead.”

“Eye function looks normal, after your Mako treatment we will revisit to be sure your pupil dilation is the same of better than currently.”
Cloud nods while they look eachother in the eye and finally Sephiroth lets go of his face and steps away.
After that it’s very quick work looking over his ears, weight, height and Sephiroth rolls through questions about his general health and medical history. Sephiroth sits down on a rolling stool in front of the blonde and begins to speak.
“Everything looks good Cloud, not much has changed since your last checkup with the cadet medical staff, we should be all set to go ahead with your first Mako treatment. Do you know much of the procedure?”
Cloud hesitates a little, flushing, he has heard some of the preparation needed before entering the mako tanks, Zack had been vague but direct enough that Cloud knew things were going to get very embarrassing for him very quickly.
“Zack mentioned a little..”
Dr Crescent nods in understanding, smiling slightly and hoping to put the young man at ease,
“Yes, Zack would know first hand, for the mako to take effect without you suffering severe internal chemical burns its important we provide you with ear plugs, nose and mouth coverings as well as anal and urethra inserts. A lot of first class soldiers have had enough treatments they often choose to prepare these on their own in advance but as it is your first treatment unfortunately its important I make sure you are protected properly.”

The piercings wil sting a little but with your new healing speed they should be fully healed in a few moments.”
Cloud’s face brightens in understanding at the new knowledge, he had no idea that's why everyone on the SOLDIER program was pierced.
