Chapter Text
Nam Gyu doesnt really remember much of his past. He remembers he had and older sister, but her face was a blur. He had and abusive father he always used to hit him and his mother.
That was probably why she left. And then when he was seven his sister left. Running away from that house. His father kept hitting him. His father died when he was 14, he was sent to an orphanage.
But he never got adopted by anyone. Everyone thought he was too old or too rude. No one wanted him. Not even the orphanage, he was kicked out of when he turned 18.
Thats how he got here. Waking up in a strange place seeing multiple people waking up. Where was he? How did he get here? Who are these people? He looked around not knowing what to do.
There was this one girl, with short hair and piercings. She oddly.. Looked familiar. Has he met her before? Some pink guards with triangular shapes on their mask came in.
Leading them to the place with.. A LOT of stairs. He wonders where they go. He meets this rapper again, Thanos. Hes always admired him, really. He just never thought hed meet him again.
The first game was red light green light, huh, should be easy enough. There was this crazy old man saying that if you move you die, whatever. Its all he ever wanted anyway.
They made it through the game. The old man was right, if you moved, you die. He was asking Thanos if he was alright. He didnt really understand what he said since he said it in english.
They had this voting thing, to either continue the games, or to get out. Obviously he picked to stay and continue the games, he needed the money. So what if he dies? No one would care.
Its time for lights out. He goes up to his bunk, rolling around, trying to sleep. But, he couldn’t. He could only think of that one girl that looked so familiar. He didnt know why. She just did.
He sighed not being able to sleep. It might sound stupid but, he never could sleep without his stuffed toys. He was so used to hugging something while sleeping, it got annoying without one.
He decided on not using his pillow for his head and just hugged it, curling into a little ball. He fell asleep. He had a dream. It was about his sister.. He dreamed of the times when he and his sister used to play in the backyard, playing ball.
He missed those times. He wishes that she stayed. He despises her but loves her at the same time. ‘Whyd you have to leave? I wish you were here.’ He thinks. Its pathetic really. He doesn’t even remember her name.
He wakes up with tears in his eyes, quietly sobbing. Rubbing his eyes desperately trying to stop the tears but they just kept coming. He feels movement from his bunk, Thanos appearing.
“What are you doing up so late, bro?” Thanos asks, rubbing the sleepyness from his eyes trying to see clearly. “Huh.. Oh, uhmm, nothing just go away.” Nam gyu says frantically trying to stop the tears.
He feels hands wrapping around him. It was Thanos, hugging him. He didnt know how to react. He just sat there, frozen in place. Once he fully processed what was going on he sobbed into Thanos’ shoulder.
Thanos kept whispering soft reassurances, trying to get him to calm down. The tears finally stop “Hey, you alright? You wanna talk about it?” Thanos asks him softly. He knows he barely knows him but, he really wants to tell him about it so, he does.
“I-i.. had a dream. About my sister. I had a dream when we were younger. I really miss her, i do. But the thing is, i dont even remember her fucking name, i know its stupid.” Nam gyu says. Thanos hugs him tighter saying “Its not stupid, you were way too young to remember.”
“Mmngh..” Nam gyu rubs his eyes tiredly. “Alright, time for you to go to sleep.” Thanos says booping his nose. Thanos let go of him laying him down on the bed. “Mghn.. Please dont go…” Nam gyu says not wanting to let go of him.
“Alright, alright, I’ll stay.” Thanos says. “G’night..” Nam gyu manages to say, not knowing what Thanos said next as he drfted off to sleep.
