Chapter Text
The October holidays were fast approaching, and having already planned with whom he was going to spend Halloween, the redhead was not worried about how the next weekend was going to go.
So it was serene, that he traveled by bus to the nearest store, already disguised in horror theme.
He simply wanted to go there to choose his costume and maybe find one for his boyfriend on the occasion.
He got off the bus when it stopped and went to the store with music in his ears.
He started his shopping quietly, without rushing.
He had an appointment in two hours with Katsuki, so he had time.
He had prepared himself beforehand, all he had to do was go home and leave his things there before joining his boyfriend.
Once he was done, he returned to his stop, in less than twenty minutes another bus would come by to drop him off near at home.
He headed home and dropped off his purchases in the small studio that his parents rented for him, wanting to give him his independence, even if he only went to this studio a few weekends a month, when he wanted to be alone with Bakugo or spend an evening with friends without the constant hubbub of the Yuei dormitories.
It was in a contagious good mood that the redhead left the place to go to the one where his lover must already wait for him.
Usually he tended to arrive late or right on time, the complete opposite of the blond.
He was either early or too early.
So it was with astonishment that the redhead noticed that the blond was not yet there when he arrived.
Il waited for ten minutes without any news from the blond, either on his phone or in the surroundings.
He just wasn't there.
The reason? He didn't know.
Katsuki had never do something like that...
So why now? Especially after two years of relationship?
His delay was not normal, and the stress bubbles up in Kirishima who looked everywhere around him in search of a blond spiky haired guy.
Without hope.
Bakugo hadn't come.
He had waited for two hours.
He had called him thirty times without anything at all, the phone rang repeatedly without anyone picking up.
He was worried, very worried.
Something was wrong.
Bakugo would never have done that to Kirishima without a valid reason, he wouldn't have left him here without warning him.
Kirishima continued to scan the horizons hoping that he would show up at some point.
And then, as if unexpected, the blond showed up.
Kirishima stood up at the drop of a hat ready to yell at his boyfriend for making him wait for almost three hours.
- Where the hell were you! Why you-...
He stopped dead. Something was wrong.
Katsuki was wearing a mask, a cap, and his gaze was fixed on the ground.
What happened?
The redhead moved closer to his blond, to see what the hell was wrong with him, but the blond backed away.
- Kats...? What's wrong with you?
- We have to stop here Kirishima.
- What? And since when do you call me by my name!?
The redhead was completely lost.
What was he talking about when he said he had to stop?
And that way of saying his name... so cold.
Nothing made sense.
He approached again, holding out his hand towards the blond's face, but Katsuki snaps and slapped the other's hand away.
Kirishima was surprised, opened his mouth, bringing his hand back against him.
The blond was facing him, his eyes inked in the other's rubies.
Tears wet Bakugo's cheeks, the mask he was wearing changing color at the same time his tears soaked up the fabric.
This vision tore the heart of Eijiro who wanted nothing more but to grab his blond in his arms.
- I said, it's over.
- What's over?
- You and me. It ends there.
Eijiro couldn't believe it, he was so shocked that tears wouldn't come to him.
What do you mean it was over? But everything was fine a few hours ago! What had happened for the blond to want to break up with the redhead?
It made no sense!
- You... You must be joking, right..?
- You're stupid or what? It's over Kirishima.
That cold tone, that way of saying things, that way of looking at him.
Everything sounded false, as if something was pushing him to act like that. Nothing sounds natural.
Kirishima felt devastated, and even more so when Bakugo turned on his heels and ran away into the crowd.
The redhead had no reaction.
His body refused to move.
It was impossible.
He never thought about breaking up with Katsuki, he already saw himself growing old by his side and even dying with him, hand in hand...
His stomach tightened until it hurt, and a terrible ball knotted at his gut.
His heart pounded in his chest, and his head was racing.
He had just been dumped, by the boy he had probably loved the most in his entire life.
