I'm a pretender (hate the fake)

Summary:

Uika's sister stole her life from her, and she's going to take back anything she can get.

Or, Hatsuika that's EVEN MORE TOXIC than uisaki!

Notes:

Ever since episode 11 aired I've been thinking about how absolutely fucked this entire situation is for the original Uika, and I think the spirit of Doloris possessed me and this fic came out. For the record i do not condone any of the behaviour in this fic these girls are Not Okay but like gosh it's so compelling to think of Hatsune's actions leaving Uika as just as much of a hollow shell as she is.

Work Text:

It's been a few years now since Uika's left the island that was her home. There's nothing left for her there now after the mess that left her family in shambles, but here she is, finally in big city Tokyo.

It's not even like she can use the name Uika anymore after her sister took that from her. Her friend, her father, her name, even her damn dreams were all stolen from her by that ungrateful bitch Hatsune.

It still makes her angry to think about it. After their father died and they got in a fight, Hatsune just up and vanished in the middle of the night. She thought Hatsune had walked into the ocean because of what she said. Mom was inconsolable, to lose her daughter right after her husband, and Uika... Well. Best not to think about that.

For months it was just her and Mom. The house got so quiet, both of them grieving over losing half their family in a matter of weeks. It wasn't pretty. Uika had to survive on convenience store bento on more than one occasion when Mom was too busy locked away crying.

But then Hatsune finally showed up again. Not in person, not even a phone call, but on their fucking TV! Using her fucking name! And she's an idol now? What the hell is wrong with her? She really never cared about their family, about Uika. She was always ungrateful, using them. Just a fucking parasite, a thief, a changeling. Some foreign pest sent to infiltrate their family and suck it dry of everything good, destroying it from within before making off with her stolen goods.

What's almost worse is that Mom was so happy to see her again, she didn't even think twice about how fucked up what Hatsune did really was. She made plans right then and there to move to the mainland to find her daughter and reunite their family, and try as she might, Uika couldn't convince her against it.

So here they are. In Tokyo against her will, with her mom looking for a sister that she'd rather never have existed in the first place.

"Are you Uika from sumimi?"

"Oh my god is that Doloris from Ave Mujica? She's also Uika from sumimi!"

"Doloris!!"

"Juicy, Juicy moment!"

It's all enough to drive her mad. sumimi this, Ave Mujica that. Bad enough that her sister stole her identity to live out her dream, but she had to go out and become ridiculously famous too. It's impossible to go anywhere without being (mistakenly? it's complicated) recognized or seeing her sister' giant image staring at her from a four metre billboard.

Sometimes, Uika is tempted. Instead of denying or ignoring or running away, she wants to just say "Yes! That's me, famous idol and musician Uika Misumi!" She wants to take back something of her stolen personhood. Just a bit, just to see how it would feel. A taste of the forbidden fruit, the intoxicating fame and recognition, finally being able to live her dream as an idol...

But no. The temptation passes and she is disgusted at the thought. She's better than that, she's different from her sister. She can succeed on her own merits without stealing. Can't she?

She really needs to confront Hatsune and get this over with and get her life back. She looks on SNS for Hatsune's contact info and can't seem to find any personal accounts, but after digging around the sumimi page, and then Mana's page, she finds a barren account for uika_winwing (blech) and sends a message.

Hatsune, it's me. We need to talk.

"What... what happened to you, Uika? You always used to be so kind and gentle..." Hatsune asks.

"What the fuck do you mean? You happened. Did you ever stop to think about what you did? What it meant for me and mom? We thought you killed yourself when you disappeared!"

"I-" Hatsune tries to interject.

"And then you show up later on fucking TV! With my name! You never even called to say you're alive!" Uika shouts. She slams her sister against the wall of the apartment and presses her forearm against Hatsune's treacherous neck, choking the life out of her.

"You're nothing but a monster." She hisses at her sister's face.

Hatsune's eyes go wide as she makes that kicked-dog face she always got as a kid whenever she got yelled at, and before Uika can realize what's happening, Hatsune does the unthinkable.

She leans forward, and kisses Uika on the mouth.

It's a desperate, needy kiss, like she's trying to suck up all the lost time and innocence that they'll never be able to get back, like she's trying to give back everything she's taken.

Uika almost starts to kiss her back before her brain catches up and she suddenly pulls away. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Uika shrieks as she throws Hatsune to the floor. There's a cold crack as her head hits the ground. It leaves a red smear. Uika looks at her sister lying there in a heap looking pathetic and disgusting, and something seems just right about the scene.

Hatsune pulls herself up onto all fours, hair in her face and drooling slightly. A trickle of blood runs down her face to mingle with the tears and spit. She looks deranged. Uika can't understand what's going through her sister's head, but she's sure it's nothing good. She's torn between wanting to beat her for the years of anger, or turning around and leaving this freak behind once and for all.

Hatsune groans and pleads "Do you know anything about where Saki-chan is?"

For what seems like the fourth time in the past thirty seconds, Uika's brain crashes to a halt. Saki? Who? She runs through the possibilities of who her sister could be talking about and comes up with "Sakiko Togawa? The rich kid who I was friends with when I was seven? Why the hell would I know anything about her? Why do you even care?"

"Oh so you don't know anything... Saki-chan... I'm sorry but I need to find Saki-chan..." Hatsune moans before shambling to her legs and starting to walk away.

"Hey! What the fuck! We're not done here Hatsune!" Uika shouts as she grabs her sister's shoulder and pulls her roughly back, spinning her around so that they're face to face, centimetres apart. She slams her sister back against the wall. "Does your own family mean that little to you? Are you just going to vanish again after all this? I'm not going to let you go, not this time. You're mine now."

And then Uika kisses her sister back. She doesn't know what she's doing either, at this point, but this many shocks and seeing her sister looking like... that. Something about how pathetic and desperate she looked stirred some feelings deep inside Uika that she doesn't have time to examine right now. Maybe Hatsune isn't the only one of them who's a freak.

She's biting and brutal and raw, all the anger and frustration and love for her sister blending into a bloodied mess. Hatsune melts into it, going slack against her body and letting slip a low moan that Uika can feel through her lips. Uika's tongue is aggressive, hunting through her sister's mouth for some answer as to what the fuck is happening, and Hatsune just takes it, sucking eagerly as if she was made for this.

Uika is still not sure what Hatsune is so obsessed with Sakiko for, but she's going to make sure that when she's through, the only thing Hatsune will be able to remember is her.

Breathless, Uika breaks the kiss and examines her work. Hatsune is a mess, hair disheveled and eyes glazed over, a thin stream of blood tinged drool dripping from the corner of her mouth as her head lolls to the side from the sudden release of force. She's wearing a dazed expression that looks perfect on her. If only her fans could see her now, what she's done to their poor precious "Uika". If Uika can't take back what's been stolen from her, then keeping Hatsune like this is satisfactory consolation.

Uika cups her sisters face with her hand, thumb pushing into her mouth and peeling back her lips to expose the gums. "This is what you should look like, Hatsune. Not that stolen facade that you wear. You don't deserve to be an idol, or even a human. You're nothing but a thief, all you deserve is to be punished. This is where you belong."

Hatsune moans at that, eyes focusing a bit on her sister before groaning "Saki-chan...?" through the thumb in her mouth.

A red hot flash of anger rips though Uika at that name. How fucking dare she. She slaps Hatsune across the face, savouring the crisp sound of her palm against her sisters cheek.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You don't even know where Sakiko went, did you? Why are you still chasing after her even now? She abandoned you, she threw you away! Just like you abandoned me... I love you, you know? I love you and I hate you and you are mine now."

Hatsune looks up at that, eyes brimming with tears, a look of hurt mixed with hope. She looks lost and broken, and Uika starts to realize that maybe her sister is hurting too. Hatsune breaks down crying, sobbing and clutching at her sister's body.

Uika is taken aback by the sudden embrace, but her long repressed love wins out over everything else and she hugs Hatsune back, cradling her head and stroking her hair.

"There there, it's okay now, you're back now and I have you. I'm not leaving and neither are you, okay? We're sisters after all."

♊︎

"Good luck out there!"

Uika's heart is pounding. She can't believe she's really doing this. After she "made up" with her sister, she got mom's blessing to move into Hatsune's apartment (mom was overjoyed, it was honestly kind of horrible) where they engaged in more "sisterly bonding". For the most part this consisted of Uika locking Hatsune up, finding out what the fuck happened with Sakiko Togawa, and occasionally making out. Sibling behaviour.

Hatsune has taken shockingly well to the whole situation, including the abuse and torture that Uika inflicts on her to vent her anger and spite. It almost seems like she enjoys it. Maybe it's her way of paying penance, maybe she's just that big of a freak, but Uika isn't complaining. She has found that she might enjoy making Hatsune suffer more than she initially thought.

Her face, her noises, her tears. It's the sound of just desserts for all the years that were stolen. What are a few bruises in the face of what Uika's been made to suffer? This is right. It's justice served. So she suggested off the cuff that Hatsune should give her life to Uika, as repayment. Her school, her friends, her career. All of it should belong to Uika by right, since it was all gained using her identity. Plus, she could stop letting Hatsune out to keep the bills paid. Her sister agreed all too easily.

Sakiko left Hatsune a complete wreck, and if she wasn't still so angry, Uika would have had some choice words for her for what she did to her sister. As is though, it worked out quite nicely. Hatsune gets a reason to live, and Uika gets her justice. Everybody wins!

Sometimes she still catches Hatsune whimpering about Saki-chan this, Saki-chan that, but it's happening less now. She's coming to realize that Sakiko has well and truly abandoned her, that the only one left in her world is Uika. And with nothing left, eventually Hatsune turned her obsessive dedication towards her sister. She's willing to give up everything for her. Including her stolen life.

So now she's here. Standing next to Mana Sumida on the stage for a sumimi concert.

"I'm Mana"

"And I'm Uika! We are sumimi!"

♊︎

"Ui-chan... are you... okay...?" Mana asks hesitantly.

They're back in the dressing room and Uika is trying not to cry. That was a disaster. Who knew singing and playing guitar at the same time was so hard? Why does Hatsune's guitar have so many strings? How does she do it? Her damned sister makes this look so easy. She throws the guitar on a couch and runs. She shoves past Mana, covering her face so nobody can see her tears.

Somehow she makes it back to the apartment and her mortification has morphed into anger. Uika storms in and shouts. "Hatsune! Where the fuck are you!"

"Uika you're back early! How did it go?" her sister asks from the loft.

"How do you THINK it went, you set me up didn't you? You did this on purpose, to embarrass me, to punish me. That's why you agreed so easily to let me have my life back, isn't it? I fucking hate you!"

She makes her way up to the loft, unlocking the bars and grabbing her sister by the hair, forcing her to look into her eyes.

"Uika? Are you okay?" Hatsune asks. She knows better than to tell Uika that she's hurting her by now.

Uika throws her against the wall and kicks her sister in the stomach. She gasps as the wind is knocked out of her, clearly trying to hold in a moan.

"Of course I'm not okay, you selfish bitch! It went terribly, I kept missing notes and I couldn't sing properly and I could barely play your stupid seven string guitar!"

She straddles Hatsune, choking her with both hands. She savours the tears welling up in her sister's eyes, her pathetic little gasps for breath as her body involuntarily flails for air. She lets go after a couple seconds and Hatsune wheezes in and groans.

"I'm sorry I just did what you wanted me to I'm sorry I'm sorry Uika I didn't know..."

"Are you trying to say it's my fault? Are you saying you're better than me? Fuck you! This is your fault! You're always stealing from me, making me suffer, ruining my life! Everything is always your fault!" Uika punctuates her rant by punching her sister, over and over until her hands sting. By the time she's done her chest is heaving and she just wants to lie down and cry.

"How do you make it look so easy... You did that all with my name, my face. I thought, it's my dream. I should be able to do it too. But I can't do anything can I? I hate you, Hatsune." She falls to the floor to lie next to her sister, who's just limp and bruised and drooling. "This is all your fault you know. Everything that's happened to me, everything that's happening to you. It's always your fault."

The raging storm of emotions inside her is starting to calm down. She takes a deep breath, and lets out a sigh. Hatsune isn't going to be saying anything like this, not for a while. Uika's beaten her enough to know. She watches her sister's shallow breathing, lips split and bleeding, before she leans over and pulls Hatsune into a deep kiss.

"But even though you hate me, I still love you Hatsune."
