Summary:

When no one is looking, he quietly slips the book into his brother’s containment cell.

Work Text:

In 1953, Jack Bright is gifted a copy of “The Little Prince.”

The Prince recognizes the glimmers of beauty and childhood wonder in all things, something he never really had when he was the boy’s age. In many ways, it reminds him of T.J.—a boy and his rose, surveying their planet.

When no one is looking, he quietly slips the book into his brother’s containment cell.

I don’t know if you’ll be able to understand what it means—what I mean, at this point, but—

(He doesn’t look back when he leaves.)

I’m sorry.
