INTRO SCENE
1964, mid-flight from New York to London aboard The Majestic.
Laura Cameron, radiant in her crisp Pan Am uniform, is serving coffee in the galley. The hum of the engines is routine. Suddenly, a tall figure in a gas mask steps into the galley.
HIJACKER (muffled):
“Put this on.”
Before Laura can react, a struggle ensues. A metal canister breaks, and a chemical agent splashes directly into her eyes. She screams, dropping the gas mask, falling to the floor — blinded.
TRANSITION — SENSATE LINK ACTIVATION
Suddenly, Laura finds herself seated in a serene Japanese garden. She can see again. She’s on a mat with a young woman in red, nervous, preparing tea for an old blind man.
BLIND MASTER:
“Let your friend help you.”
JINX (surprised):
“Yes, Master.”
They pour tea together, in complete synchronicity. The bond is instant.
JINX:
“I’m Jinx… and you’re not from here.”
BLIND MASTER:
“Jinx, help your friend… her emergency is now yours.”
BACK ON THE PLANE — REALITY AND SENSATE COMBINE
Laura and Jinx awaken together in the aircraft aisle. Laura is wearing a gas mask, eyes red and unfocused, her body trembling.
JINX (to Laura, calmly):
“Now I will show you what the keenest eye is.”
Jinx pulls a red blindfold from her sleeve and tightens it over her eyes. The connection deepens.
Suddenly — precision strikes.
Jinx’s instincts and training guide Laura’s body as if it were her own. She dodges a swinging rifle butt, disarms a hijacker with a fluid twist, and dismantles a Soviet-manufactured AK with exact technique — all while everyone around sees Laura doing it.
CUT TO DEAN, TED, COLETTE, KATE, AND MAGGIE
They stare in shock.
Dean: “Laura just disarmed that guy like she’s MI6.”
Ted: “No way. That was... ninja stuff.”
Kate (stunned):
“She’s not even blinking.”
BRITISH COMMANDO APPEARS IN LAURA’S MIND
Another sensate enters: a grizzled British Special Forces vet, who speaks in clipped, tactical tones.
COMMANDO (calmly, in Laura’s mind):
“You’ve got three more. Left aisle. Use the cart.”
Laura pushes the service cart forward hard — it knocks one hijacker over. She grabs a dropped pistol, checks the chamber. Empty. She tosses it — no hesitation.
COCKPIT – DEAN AND TED
Dean:
“She’s clearing the cabin… blind.”
Ted:
“What the hell is going on with Laura?”
FINAL FIGHT – LAURA VS. LEAD HIJACKER
He lunges at her with a knife. Laura stumbles — then instinctively shifts her weight, guided by Jinx and the fighter pilot in her cluster. She redirects the attack and brings him down with a chokehold.
AFTERMATH
Passengers are unconscious but safe. Hijackers zip-tied. FBI and CIA are called. The crew is sworn to secrecy.
Dean tries to speak with Laura, who’s sitting alone.
Dean:
“How… how did you do that?”
Laura (quietly):
“I had… help.”
CLOSING MONTAGE
Laura staring at her reflection, then glimpsing Jinx in the mirror.
The British commando receiving a mission order.
The Japanese shrine maiden meditating.
The high school teacher grading papers as he feels a shift in his mind.
Laura walking through JFK, sunglasses on — her vision mysteriously returned.
VOICEOVER (Laura):
“They say when you're alone in the sky, it's just you and the clouds.
But now... I know I’m never truly alone.”
