blood moon confession

Summary:

you have decided that you wanted to confess your love towards itachi for some time.

under the guise that you are simply watching the view, you can't help to notice that the blood moon has occurred tonight. or in other words, a lunar eclipse.

you look up at this sight, but at the same time, you also recall events you've had with him up until now, before the actual confession itself

Notes:

hi! so this is a story i made a VERY long time ago. i don't have the best writing skills, but hopefully you do enjoy this. if you want any updates on this or any improvements, let me know.

also, the dates are accurate to when a full blood moon occurs. i wanted to add some details in, because red moon and itachi fit well together.

Chapter 1: the first time we met

Chapter Text

“i can do this…but i don’t know if it will work.”
“once i say it, it’s all done. then, it’s his response.”

[07/09/25]

you have planned this night for some time now. it was simple. it is just a simple viewing of the city, maybe look up at the sky to see a few stars, with a really good friend you had liked for sometime. however, it wouldn’t be just some regular viewing. you plan on admitting everything to him. you’ve dreamt and thought about this more frequently over the last few days up until now, finally gaining the courage to go and say how you feel. thinking of both the best and the worst case scenarios. your thoughts were flowing at the most rapid pace like rushing the last minute. however you were distracted by the surroundings.

tonight was a great night. you had to get your favourite outfit on, made your way to the rooftop and now wait for one of the most great moments you’ll ever have.

or maybe your worst…that’s something else you could wait for.

but besides that, the rooftop view was stunning from where you are. you got a nice perspective of the city, especially since it was night. lots of lights giving off different shades and brightness, from every direction. the sky was dark as it usually was, the stars glowing, nothing different. although something did catch your eye.

the moon. it was glowing red. it was almost like the colour of blood. deep, yet bright. you didn’t understand what it was until you remembered something. that was the blood moon. infamous for its colour. you thought it wasn’t real, and it never existed, but there it was. the real blood moon. the red orb in the sky. you never were into all the space stuff as much. but as much as it was beautiful, it wasn’t as beautiful as him…

surprised by the infamous moon, but not so sure if it was some sort of cryptic message. what if it was something good or bad? this made you look up, causing you to lose track of time. it takes you back up to the last few months. exactly when you first met him how you met him.

october 2023

it’s october. you had just got back from your daily walk around the park. you make a quick stop to the café near your home. you buy some latte and take a seat near the window to see the autumn leaves. then a guy walks in, and gets two things, however when reaching into his pocket, he realised he didn’t have it.

“oh. i don’t have my wallet with me. did i leave it at home? i’m sure i’ve put it somewhere…”

he checked every pocket and every place that he wouldn’t keep most of his stuff in, but to no avail, he wasn’t able to find his wallet. luckily, the café wasn’t busy and you heard most of what happened. he was about to leave the café, but you were able to stop him just in time.

“hey! excuse me!”

he stopped to turn and face you. you were surprised by how he looked. his hair was dark and long; seemed to be kept tidied, hence the ponytail. his eyes were of a charcoal-like colour, and it suited him so well. although, he does have visible stress marks, which were interesting, but somewhat worrying. it took a few seconds for you to respond back.

“if you’d like, i can pay for your drink.”

at first he was reluctant, saying he was alright, but when you offered again, he accepted it. the guy was pleased that someone was helping him out of kindness. you paid for him and both of you were about to talk. however, as much as you wanted to have a conversation with him, he had an important text, which made him having to leave quickly. he thanked you for paying his drink, apologised for not being able to talk and left. that act of kindness felt great, and for the rest of the day, it felt very soothing. although, you never got to talk to him and there was a chance you’d never see him again. he was such a gentleman to you, but it feels rare to find guys like him. you just wished he never got that text.

a few days later, you headed to the same café. you ordered yourself a latte, as usual and went to the same place you sat at last time you were here. you remembered the last time you were sat there, you were just about to have a conversation with the guy you met a few days back. but knowing that he might not come back, you just watched the usual leaves fall down from the tree.

as you were just enjoying the view, a guy was walking past. usually you would’ve ignored, if it weren’t for the noticeable dark, long hair. you wondered if it were the guy from last time or someone else. you didn’t think much of it until you see the same dark hair, few seconds later, as he entered the café. you turned around to see who it is and to your surprise, it was him.

after he placed an order and waited for his drink to be made, you decided to head over and talk to him.

“did you remember your wallet this time?”

the dark hair guy turned around to see you. after a few seconds, he realised it was you. he then responds to your question, knowing what you were referring to,

“yes, i did.”

you were happy that you were able to meet him again, and even more happy that he remembers you. you could finally strike a conversation with him, without any interruptions now. hopefully.

you smile at him and asked him if he would like to talk. he was more than happy to talk to you. after he grabbed his drink, you both sat at the table you always sit in.

you both checked on each other, which both of you were doing great. just making sure none of you were in a bit of situation or that.

you never got this guy’s name. even though you talked for a bit last time, you never got to ask for his name. so, logically, you asked,

“i know we talked last time, and i never got your name. what is it?”

“itachi. and you?”

“y/n.”

“so, y/n? you come here often?” itachi asked

“sometimes. i come here whenever i finish a walk sometimes or i come here just to get some coffee and look outside.”

“hm, interesting. i always see you sitting here whenever i pass by or whenever i come in here”

you were kind of surprised by this. you never knew he passed by as much, let alone come in. you pay more attention to the scenery than the people around you. which shouldn’t be surprise.

“do you come here often?” you asked. you knew that you don’t come here regularly. but you wanted to know if he was just visited regularly or rarely.

“not as often as you. i come here every now and then. but i always pass the café whenever i walk around the street” he answered. that meant he did see you more often from inside, but less when in the café.

“hm. do you live around here?” itachi asked. “just out of curiosity?”

you respond, “yeah i do. this café is the closest to my apartment.”

you guys talked for sometime. you and itachi had some things in common. when both of you were done talking, you both exchanged contacts so both of you can keep in touch. you found out itachi also lives around the area, so both of you can meet at the café whenever.

and that’s how you two met.
