Work Text:

jungkook knew it right in the moment his eyes layed on the dainty boy standing on that stage, big cat eyes sparkling with a mix of fear and hope. the fear of failing and the hope of pursuing his dream... such a familiar feeling.

what jungkook knew as well was that it was wrong. the feeling of his heart thumping as jungwon stared at him with those eyes, waiting for a compliment, a word of comfort or even an advice. he couldn't help it tho! that was the prettiest boy he's ever seen.
everytime jungwon moved closer to him while performing on stage made jungkook feel warm as if the sun was close enough to touch.

his group had been invited to make an appearance on HYBE's first survival show, where a bunch of boys competed in order to make their debut as a boygroup. it would be a lie if he pretended that he hadn't been watching every single episode as soon as it launched. he memorized a few of the contestant's names, but one of them did stand out to his eyes: yang jungwon.
the cute, short, brown haired boy with great dancings skills and an unique voice caught his gaze right in the moment he showed up on his screen wearing a dark blue sweater and white pants, smiling around and making sure everyone noticed the huge dimple on his cheek.

it was undeniable that jungwon was born to be an idol. jungkook knew it better than anyone else.
he was happy to find out his group would participate in an dynamic where they had to leave gifts to some of the contestants and saw that as the best opportunity to let jungwon know he had his support, so he thought of preparing something that expressed how he felt in a subtle way.
the customized notebook sat in his lap while he thought of words to write on the first page... something that would make jungwon feel as warm and comforted as he felt just by looking at him through his screen.
after some time, the pen started dancing around the paper.

"dear jungwon,

from the moment i saw your passion and determination, i knew you were destined for greatness. your hard work, your heart, and your undeniable talent inspire not just me, but everyone who watches you chase your dream.

remember that the road ahead might be tough, but the strength within you is even greater. trust in yourself, lean on those who believe in you, and never forget why you started.

i believe in you. keep shining brighter than ever before, and let your music touch the hearts of people all around the world. i'll be cheering for you.

love,
jungkook."
