Chapter Text
At home, Travis’ father was strict. A little too strict. Always eat with the family, never disrespect adults, and most importantly - don't be gay. Every time his father saw someone who looked remotely homosexual he would mutter to himself things like, “these damn kids these days” or “have fun in hell”.
Now Travis did not necessarily agree with his fathers ideology, but his father used god to scare Travis into hating gay people. Travis didn't want to go to hell. He didn't want to be deemed unworthy in God's eyes.

Travis walked through the halls of Nockfell High trying to find his class when he bumped into someone.
“Watch where you’re going dude” Travis says as he slightly stumbles back. He looks up to see who he bumped into, a boy with blue hair and a mask.
“Shit- I’m sorry dude” the boy says as he reaches down to pick up his notebook. Once he picks up his book he looks up and holds out his hand towards Travis, “I’m uh.. I’m Sal” he looks at Travis through his mask.
“What's with the mask freak?” Travis says menacingly and shoves his hands away causing Sal to pull his hand away quickly, and look down, “its.. It's just my face..” He says quietly and turns around to walk away. “Fuckin freak..” Travis mutters as he watches Sal walk away
Sal walks into his next class and takes a seat. He looks around taking in the classroom, taking note of everyone in said class. A few minutes into class there's a soft knock on the door and the teacher walks over to open it, revealing Travis. Sal groans to himself and immediately looks down to avoid eye contact. He hears the teacher tell him to sit next to “the one with blue hair” causing Sal to tense as he hears Travis walking towards him. He keeps his head down as Travis sits next to him, praying that he doesn't say anything.
Travis mutters to himself as he takes out his own notebook, starting to scribble down notes as the teacher resumes her lesson.
The class goes by painfully slow as Sal keeps his head down, only lifting it to look at the board and take notes. Once the bell rings Sal immediately stands and grabs his things, hurrying out of the door. Travis watches as he practically sprints out of the class, chuckling to himself before grabbing his own things and making his way out of the classroom.
The rest of the day goes by slower and slower until finally the last bell of the day rings signaling the end of school. Sal hangs out until the school is completely empty before he decides to make his way back to the apartments. On his walk home he passes by the church, seeing Travis and his parents standing outside talking to the Pastor. He takes note of how uncomfortable Travis looks in the suit, but chooses to ignore it and continues walking.
