Chapter Text
“What the fuck happened here?”
Lydia stares, face blank at the couple making out in a broom closet. Although Lydia has been living with them for only five weeks, this had become the norm.
The couple stared, flustered, eyes wide at their new roommate, Evan’s sister. Quickly stumbling off of each other, Oona musters up an embarrassed smile:
”Ehh.. I- We y’know just..” She stammers.
”What? Can’t keep your hands to yourself? I can tell.” Lydia crosses her arms, a wide grin growing on her face.
”No, we just got a little carried away.” Evan butts himself into the conversation.
”Oh, like every other time?” Lydia doesn’t sound mad, (well she isn’t ) But just very disappointed.
”Exactly. How long did you say you were staying, again?” Oona tries to redirect the conversation away from what happened prior to it.
“Well, maybe like a week more. You can wait for that long, right?” Her expression softens.
The two lovebirds glance at each other and smile.
They can’t.
As time goes by, Lydia moves out back in with her and Evan’s parents, just for long enough for her to find a good apartment.(she didn’t wanna stay with Oona and Evan anymore.)
“So, you know we’ve been together for almost three years?” Evan blurted out on one of their many dates.
Usually, they would have a date at a coffee shop or something cute and cozy like that. But this time, Evan had made reservations to a fancy restaurant nearby. The place was quiet and clean. Everything was pristine and polished.
Oona was wearing a deep blue cocktail dress with white polka dots (referencing her favorite band Titi-Nalle.) and silly bow earrings, while on the other hand Evan was wearing a complementary suit. They had worn them to a friend’s wedding, once.
“Yeah, I mean it’s our anniversary today, you know that.” She smiles warmly at him, looking into his blue eyes.
Evan puts on a faux confidence, trying to compose himself. He gets up from his seat, opposite to his girlfriend.
”I have loved you, since the day we met. I loved going to bed, knowing I’ll wake up with you next to me. I loved you during every twist and turn of our magical lives. But all good things must come to an end..” He sighs
Oona’s smile dropped immediately. She looked at him in disbelief.
Evan got on one knee, in front of her. Taking a deep breath, he grinned: Opening a box, inside a silver ring, adorned with a carnile stone.
”Oona [REDACTED], will you make me the happiest man alive, and marry me?”
Oona’s face softened just a bit, still in disbelief (but in a positive way).
”Yes! Oh my god. YES!!” She nodded profusely, giving his now fiancé her hand. Evan slid the ring onto her finger, immediately pulling her in for a quick kiss.
