Work Text:
A lot of the dateables around the house said that Lux was aggrivating, annoying, and just all around self centred.
For some reason, you did not mind it one bit.
You admired the way they carried themself, the way they spoke, how they were so passionate about their own fanbase and personality online.
Volt and Eddie complained every now and then about Lux having taken the credit for being the light.
They provided the electricity! They should get some credit for it.
Nonetheless, you couldn't help but to adore them.
Lux would probably boast and brag about how it is to be expected that you would find someone like them to be so admirable.
The surprising difference was, they didn't.
I mean... they definitely bragged and bragged constantly about how they were the star, this and that, but not as strongly when you brought it up.
It started normal; the obvious gloating and bluster, but over time they... simmered. Only to you, to the rest of the house's dismay.
That's not to mean they stopped entirely, absolutely not.
Lux was still loud and boisterous about their fame and fans.
You felt weirdly special about this change in demeanor from them towards you.
"My Luxys are more important than that! I can't be bothered with these distractions!"
Turned into:
"Ugh... I might be able to try and fit you in somewhere, but I'm not making promises!"
It felt strange to see them make "attempts" at fitting you into their influencer shpiel.
This never bothered you, it never has and probably never will.
The other objects in your house thought you were crazy, sometimes. Especially ones like Chance, who attempted to do a G&G session with Lux and it obviously went quite poorly.
As of late, you had begun trying to earn affections with Lux.
You gave them ideas for videos, makeup and glammer inspo, and tried giving them ideas on how to get as many sponsorships as possible.
The light was not oblivious to this.
They saw the attempts, and they unfortunetly couldn't ignore them.
The only other person who could ever give them such ideas was that computer, Mac, but all they did was spew bullshit Lux didn't care for.
It was a new territory, one that Lux wasn't fully aware could even come from the homeowner themself.
Despite their persona, they assumed that you were going to complain like everyone else.
"Lux, no one cares about your sponsor right now."
"Will you turn that damn thing off, I can't see what I'm doing!"
"Do you think you could tone it down?"
Lux never recieved that from you... to their very valid surprise.
You told them it was amazing that they were still able to be so bratty and yet entertaining.
At first, they took it as a taunt. A jeer. Something they were being mocked for again.
Nope. You genuinely enjoyed those aspects of them.
By no means were they a sweetheart, but they had their own ways of showing their appreciation.
They invited you to do promos with them, film sponsorships, do videos. The likes.
Even if you weren't completely sure if they were reciprocating the gestures you gave, you liked the thought that they may be.
Even if they could be a bitch sometimes.
You managed to love them, either way.
