Work Text:
When Yaku moved away to Russia, to say Lev was disappointed was an understatement. She never got to confess to her upperclassmen, her first love, the one she wanted to spend her every living moment with. She planned everything for weeks just for her to lose the moment because of issues outside of her control. The first week was grueling, she wanted to contact the brunette, but she didn't even know her new number and the younger of the two was too embarrassed to ask her upper classmates for her crush's new number.
They might think she's obsessed, or even worse they'll know about her crush on one of their friends. So she stayed quiet and tried to move on with her life As the weeks went by her feelings were still down in the slump. No matter how hard she tried to distract herself with studies or even her new modeling gig nothing was working. Talking with friends didn’t help. If only she was just brave enough to ask that stupid question.
Right now she's still in her apartment, the Russian had no class today and her next photoshoot is not until noon. It's currently one of those days, where she can barely get herself up from the bed and make herself a proper meal. It's been half a day since she woke up but she hasn't done anything productive the whole time. She should have some lunch right now but the thought of eating just made her feel sick, she checked her breath and it smelled. Well it could've been worse. So she decided to get up and go to the bathroom to freshen up a bit.
Inside the bathroom she saw her own reflection, and what a pitiful reflection it was. Her eye bags were getting deeper, her hair was messy and she looked as if she hadn't showered in days. While brushing her teeth she decided to try and at least brush out her hair before her photoshoot later this noon, but when she was reaching for her hairbrush she saw it. A pair of scissors from last night, where she had bought some new products and hadn't stored them a way yet. Then a thought came through her mind. 'Yaku-san said she liked girls with short hair right? So what if I just...'
Before she even knew it, the sounds of scissors cutting something could be heard all throughout the room. She stared at herself in disbelief of what she had done. It felt so wrong and so right at the same time. She knew she shouldn't do something so rash, but that one cut was all she needed before she started to chop off almost 3/4 of her current hair length. The cut was messy and choppy, but she has never felt more light and free this whole time. But the one thing that's playing in her head was the memory of her senior saying how she likes people with short hair, and how now she had the look that could win over her high school crush.
